CREATION OF DA- WIDE HEALTH, WELLNESS, AND OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY PROGRAM AND ITS COMPOSITION
In order to develop an alert, healthy, and productive workforce, the Civil Service Commission issued several Memorandum Circulars (MCs) for the adoption and implementation of physical and mental fitness program for government personnel. The most recent effort in the promotion of physical and mental wellness is CSC MC No. 8, s. 2011, "Reiteration o f the Physical Fitness Program: Great Filipino Workout’. In compliance, the DA- Wide Health, Wellness, and Safety Program is hereby created. The Program shall be composed of two components: (1) Health (Physical and Mental) and Wellness Program and (2) Occupational Safety Program. Conduct a Needs Assessment and develop appropriate programs/projects and activities that shall promote physical and mental fitness as well as attend to emotional, psycho-social and spiritual needs; and promote fitness, wellness, and healthy lifestyle for the DA officials and employees to reduce the risk of developing non-communicable diseases/illnesses associated with sedentary lifestyle (e.g. cardiovascular disease, stroke, type of diabetes); Formulate a continuing physical fitness, sports and cultural activities, and other wellness activities and its budgetary requirements;
