Planning London’s Recovery is the Mayor of London’s new challenge program that takes on a cooperative, design-led approach to supplement advancement and innovativeness within London’s Recovery in response to the pandemic. It is being conveyed in organisation with the GLA, Design Council and UCL’s CUSSH project. The Sustrans organisation proposed the concept of ‘Child-led 15-Minute Neighbourhoods’ – with an aim to explore how streets and neighbourhoods can be made more accessible to children and shift the current power imbalances to shape a greener and more equitable future. This initiative drives the urban scape to uphold the needs and values of children, adults, and the environment, and encourages the idea of fruitful city planning in harmony with intergenerational inclusivity.
