ORDINANCE 2022-03 AN ORDINANCE FOR THE LEVY AND ASSESSMENT OF A TAX FOR ALL CORPORATE PURPOSES WITHIN THE BLACKWAWK FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT WINNEBAGO COUNTY, ILLINOIS FOR THE YEAR COMMENCING MAY 1, 2022 AND ENDING APRIL 30, 2023
WHEREAS, the duly appointed Board of Trustees of the BLACKHAWK FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, Winnebago County, Illinois, has heretofore adopted an Annual Budget and Appropriation, which has been published and is now in full force and effect; and
WHEREAS, careful and adequate consideration has been given in ascertaining and determining how much money must be raised by taxation for all corporate purposes for said Fire District for the following fiscal year.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE BLACKHAWK FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT as follows:
SECTION 1. The sum of Four Hundred Thirty-Five Thousand Three Hundred Dollars ($435,300.00) or so much thereof as is possible must be raised by taxes for all corporate purposes for the fiscal year commencing May 1, 2022, and ending April 30, 2023, including:
• One Hundred Eighty-Eight Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
($188,500.00) which constitutes the general corporate fund tax levy,
• Twenty-Four Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($24,400.00), which constitutes a special rescue fund tax levy,
• Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) which constitutes a special liability insurance fund tax levy,
• Fifteen Thousand Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($15,350.00) which constitutes a workers compensation tax levy,
• Two Thousand Fifty Dollars ($2,050.00) which constitutes a special audit fund tax levy, and
• One Hundred Ninety-Five Thousand Dollars ($195,000.00) which constitutes an ambulance levy
the sum of Four Hundred Thirty-Five Thousand Three Hundred Dollars ($435,300.00) shall constitute the levy for all corporate purposes of the said District on the equalized or assessed value of the taxable property of said District for the year 2021.
SECTION 2. There be and there is hereby assessed for all Corporate Purposes within the BLACKHAWK FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT of Winnebago County, Illinois, for the fiscal year commencing May 1, 2022, and ending April 30, 2023, the total sum of $435,300.00 upon all property subject to taxation within the said BLACKHAWK FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT as the same is assessed and equalized for State and County purposes for the current year, and that said sum or tax be known as the tax for corporate purposes, and

be in addition to all other taxes, the several purposes for which said tax is levied being shown by copies of the Annual Budget and Appropriation Ordinance having been passed May 2, 2022, which said Ordinance, as published, is hereto attached, marked as “Exhibit A” and is expressly made a part hereof as if copied herein.
SECTION 3. Said tax so levied and assessed as aforesaid be collected and enforced in the same manner and by the same officer as the State and County Taxes, and be paid over by the same officer so collecting the same to the Treasurer of the said
BLACKHAWK FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT of Winnebago County, Illinois, as provided by law.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance, not imposing any penalty and not making any appropriation of funds, shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval, and the Secretary of the BLACKHAWK FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT shall cause the same to be published in the Rock River Times once and shall forthwith make and file with the County Clerk of Winnebago County, Illinois, a certified copy of this Ordinance and that the County Clerk of Winnebago County, Illinois, is hereby requested to ascertain the tax rate required to produce the sum of $435,300.00 as provided by law, or as much thereof as may be extended by law, as the Corporate Tax of said District for 2022.
