“Rory did say a few things, like it was like a crash when he got off stage. And, when you see the Irish Tour film, back in the dressing room you just see him, just kind of, it takes him awhile to recover from a show. I don’t know whether he just saved up all his energy and was quiet and did his thing in a normal day and why he wasn’t an extrovert in real life, he kind of bottled it all up until he went out on stage. David Fricke said, “I met him once. I got to have my picture taken with him backstage. And, he seemed very shy. You saw that power and that drive at the mic as he played, and it was back stage at the Bottom Line, it was almost like he didn’t know what to do with any limelight. I went up to him and said, I think you’re the business, and it was like, no response.” Donal Gallagher responded, “He was very sweet and very shy but his transformation when he got on stage and got plugged in was quite extraordinary.”
