Recently I had the honor of interviewing LONDA R. MARKS for METAL TO INFINITY in article: ROCK LEGEND NEWS – A TALK WITH LONDA R. MARKS (CEO Magazine). We got such a huge response from that interview and I felt that Londa not only gave a very thoughtful/detailed interview about her time of working behind the scenes with a band called: HAWK, which was part of the 80’s Los Angeles Metal scene, but HAWK was the band that featured Londa’s then Husband: Doug Marks. Hawk also featured amongst its members: Scott Travis (Judas priest/Racer X) and Lonnie Vincent (King Kobra/Bullet Boys). Londa also discussed her involvement behind the scenes of working with her then Husband: Doug Marks on the formation of Metal Method which was the premiere Guitar lessons that started out on Audio tapes and then started shooting instructional videos. Metal Method remains a thriving business all these years but Londa R. Marks and Doug Marks have since divorced. Londa R. Marks now has her own Online magazine: Rock legends News and she has agreed to have a conversation with me once a month to discuss what is currently going on in the world of Hard Rock/Metal as well as to discuss what is going on with her Rock Legends News Site. Now, Londa I’d like to start off the very first Rock Philosophy Sessions with Jason Houston and Londa R. Marks by asking you this statement you e-mailed me agreeing to be part of Rock Philosophy Sessions - that’s a great title you came up with by the way. In our communications about what to name this column, Londa said, “For me, rock stars are akin to mythological gods. You are good with questions and seem to think along the lines of a philosopher and I like answering your thoughtful questions. Basically, I analyze situations, people, music and art from a (modern) mythological (creative) perspective so, Rock Philosophy Sessions may be a good title for our monthly discussions.” I love how you talk about rock stars being like Mythological Gods. Talk a little bit about this. I mean, I can understand what you’re saying here but for our readers could you please give us some examples, maybe share with us who are some of Rock Stars that you admire, who you feel have that star quality that you could compare to a mythological God.
And, as you revealed in the interview you did with Metal To Infinity Londa you briefly touched on the fact that you were very interested in Mythology. How did you first become interested in Mythology?

During the 70s, rock musicians, creative thinkers and visual artists collectively agreed upon forming a subculture of peace, love, and understanding consciously and subconsciously and in a period of no social media, no Internet and a fairly conservative society. The youth population appointed rock music as their leaders by supporting them and becoming part of a metaphysical synchronization similar to how the Renaissance period evolved. Within this subculture musicians enriched our souls by connecting us all with universal frequencies and vibrations, tools for describing their emotions as well as their followers. Songs with romantic psychedelic lyrics fueled by pure pharmaceuticals opened doors to cerebral explorations and psychedelic landscapes. England initiated this life changing force from a center of rebels, individuals and trend setters ready to explode ideas into the world. It was an unstoppable movement. More importantly, England was where The Beatles were developed by brainchild marketing — intentional or not — and just in time for TV, another new phenomenon which had a variety show called Ed Sullivan. It aired on Sunday nights when everyone was at home relaxing, at least until The Beatles appeared on the screen, then an audience of young girls freaked out, screaming and crying even when Ed just said their name. The Beatles broke the conservative mold with their longish, sexy, shaggy hair, English suits, high heeled boots and electric instruments. Four cute, sexy guys dressed alike singing love songs. I loved them so much I swore to my brother Joey, who was getting into The Beatles too, that I would move to England when I was old enough, not only for The Beatles but for that kind of lifestyle; creative independence, melodic rock music and mod fashion.
