Dear Members and Guests,

As we move into summer, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued support of Rockledge Country Club.

Our tournament season is finally beginning to slow down, and all I can say is, wow, what a season. We are grateful to the many organizations, charities, sponsors, volunteers, members, and guests who chose Rockledge for their events this year.

One accomplishment worth recognizing is that we have reached a new record for rounds played in the history of Rockledge Country Club. This milestone would not have been possible without the support, patience, and understanding of our golf membership.

It also would not have been possible without our staff. What have traditionally been some of our slower months became some of our busiest. Our team embraced the challenge, adapted to increased activity, and continued working hard to provide a positive experience for members and guests alike. I am incredibly proud of how they rose to the occasion.

Many of our members understand that a healthy, active golf course creates opportunities to reinvest in the future of the Club. The revenue generated from these rounds helps fund improvements to course conditions, equipment, infrastructure, and the overall golf experience. Your belief in that vision has played an important role in helping us reach this achievement.

Greens aerification is scheduled for June 8, and we appreciate your patience as our maintenance team continues working to improve the golf course.

What makes Rockledge special is the community that surrounds it. Whether you are here for golf, pickleball, lunch at Vue 18, or a special event, thank you for being part of our story.

As Father's Day approaches, I would like to wish all of the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures in our Rockledge family a very Happy Father's Day. Whether you are spending the day with family, sharing a round with friends, or simply enjoying some well-deserved relaxation, we hope it is a special day filled with great memories.

We look forward to seeing you around the Club this summer!

UPDATE

May was an incredibly active month at the Club; in fact it was the busiest month for rounds of golf in the last 10 years at RCC. Although the dry weather was not great for the course, it was very good for course access and we saw record amounts of Member play, along with hosting several very important fundraisers for local charities and organizations. We finished off the month with our Memorial Day Scramble. Local Veteran and RCC Veteran League Member Timothy Stokes kicked off the event with some heartfelt words regarding the Memorial Day Holiday, and we celebrated our winners in the ballroom after play, thanks to all 100 players for participating.

In May, even with all the additional course traffic, we were able to average a 3 Hour and 39 Minute average pace of play, which is something we are very happy with. Also, our GPS Cart stop feature shut down 1,853 golf carts that were entering in restricted areas around the greens and tees with sensitive turf. We are thrilled with the grass quality in these areas by restricting the cart traffic and hope you are all enjoying the high quality of turf in these areas.

June ushers in our summer programs as we get ready to kick off our junior summer camps. Coach Dalton has 4 camps scheduled for this summer, with one of them being specifically designed for Advanced players preparing for high school or competitive golf opportunities. Attendance for these camps are nearing maximum capacity, and we are thrilled to be able to get these kids started in the game.

We have a few new faces in the golf shop, so make sure and stop by and meet Hannah and Jennifer. They join our golf shop team as Assistant Professional Staci Hooper heads out to prepare for the birth of her child, and longtime Golf Shop Assistant Greg Madonna prepares to move out west for a new journey

If you haven’t downloaded our new mobile app yet, I highly recommend getting this installed as tee times can be booked with as little as 3 clicks and in under 10 seconds. Members can also access their statements, pay bills, and view transactions live as they happen. We will also be launching a new food and beverage side to this App very soon that we are excited to launch in the near future.

season where Bermuda is not thriving. It generally grows some and stays green but does not handle a lot of traffic well. Hence, we need this growing season for repair and maintenance of the course.

Speaking of repair and maintenance, an aerification of the greens is scheduled for Monday, June 8th. The course will be closed all day for this procedure. Aerification is essential for diluting organic accumulation, which leads to compaction, disease, and a host of other issues. Soil needs oxygen to help support turfgrass growth, and the open channels allow for root growth as well.

We will be aerifying fairway and tee areas as well during the summer. These will be done as we are able with the course being open. Once again, it is crucial to alleviate compaction to help support turf growth and recovery.
