SENSORY ROOM A sensory room is a specially designed space that provides individuals with a controlled and immersive sensory experience. These rooms are used as therapeutic tools for those with various sensory processing disorders, disabilities, and cognitive conditions. The sensory room is FREE for use. All sensory room users must have a CivicRec account with RCPR & reserve their time. If you need to create an account, use the website below to do so. REFUND POLICIES CANCELLATION OF ACTIVITY OR TRIP BY THE DEPARTMENT Persons registered for a program which is cancelled by the department shall receive a full refund. PARTICIPANT CANCELLATIONS OF ACTIVITY OR TRIP Persons cancelling their registration prior to the registration deadline shall receive a full refund. No refunds will be given and all jersey/shirt orders are final following the registration deadline. Please allow 2 to 4 weeks for processing & to receive refund checks.

Trunk-or-treat will start at 4pm along with inflatables for the kids to play on, lawn games, crafts and food will be available for purchase from local food trucks. YARD SALE AT THE PARK

The bigger the yard sale, the more people it draws in. Join us for a community yard sale at the Rockingham County Park at the Crossroads. Signing up will reserve you a spot to set up with your items, spots will consist of two parking spaces. Join us at the Rockingham Park at the Crossroads for a family friendly trivia night. Families will work as a team to answer questions and puzzles, questions may be geared towards the kids or the adults of the family so it will require teamwork to come out on top! BOYS BASKETBALL

Youth

Our basketball league is offered for boys of all skill levels. Players will learn fundamental skills such as defense, dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork in a positive, fun and supportive environment. Emphasis is placed on skill development, sportsmanship, and building confidence both on and off the court. Participants will practice regularly and have a six game season, with balanced teams to ensure fair and enjoyable play. Our league encourages equal participation, helping every player grow while having fun and making new friends. The season will begin with a minicamp hosted by your local high school coaches and players. The minicamp will be a 4-day minicamp focused on skills and drills. After the minicamp, players will be placed on teams and will start practicing. Practices will be Monday – Thursday (Locations/Times are TBD). Games will be played on, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at the Rockingham Recreation Center (Game Schedule is TBD). Each player will receive a reversible jersey. (WE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERING ANY TEAM/COACH REQUESTS). Fee $55 | Register By October 12 Season: October-December Grades 1st-2nd, 3rd-4th, 5th-6th Grade as of 2026-27 school year

Now offering Spikeball (Open Play), all skill levels are welcome and no prior experience or partner is required. Participants can drop in, join a game, meet others, and improve their skills in a friendly and welcoming environment. Perfect for individuals and friends looking for a fun way to get active, from beginners learning the basics to experienced players looking for competitive play. Bring your energy and be ready to play!The Spikeball (Open Play) will start in January and run through March. Open play will be on Wednesday nights. Our Adult Coed Volleyball League is all about good vibes, friendly competition, and enjoying the game. From beginners learning the basics to seasoned players looking to play volleyball, our league welcomes players of all levels. Enjoy the excitement of volleyball in a fun, inclusive, organized setting. The coed volleyball season will start in January and run through March. Games will be played on Monday nights. Participants will learn defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws and rules of the road to safely adjust driving to compensate for age-related changes. SENIOR GROUP FITNESS Join us for a 30–45-minute fitness class for seniors. The class will consist of sitting and supported standing exercises. TAI CHI Join us at the Rockingham Recreation Center for a Tai Chi class presented in cooperation with the Valley Program for Aging Services. Tai Chi is a martial art that promotes health and well being through slow and flowing movements coordinated with deep breathing and mindfulness. Tai Chi can help prevent falls and improve balance. STATE FAIR OF VIRGINIA DOSWELL, VA Join us on a trip to the Virginia State Fair in Doswell, VA. Explore the fair at your own pace, enjoying class fair food, and a variety of free entertainment. BLUE RIDGE FOLK LIFE FEST FERRUM, VA Join us for a trip to the Blue Ridge Folk Life Festival, a celebration of the rich heritage and traditions of the Blue Ridge. The festival show cases musicians, moonshiners, craftspeople, cooks, mule jumpers, horse pullers, coon dog racers and much more. This is a family friendly festival on the grounds of Ferrum University. Trip includes transportation and admission to the festival only, meals are not included. CASS WHITAKER STATION TRIP-SCENIC TRAIN RIDE

FALL WINE TOUR LOVINGSTON. VA Join us on another wine tour as we head southeast into Nelson and Amherst Counties. Participants will have time to sample wines at least three wineries in the area before heading home. Planned stops, which are subject to change, include Lovingston Winery, Rebec Vineyards and Lazy Days Winery. Trip includes transportation only; wine and meals are not included. CASS, WV The trip to Whittaker Station takes two hours for the eight-mile round trip. Passing the water tower and machine shop, the railroad begins to climb lower slopes of Cheat Mountain along Leatherbark Creek. The train then zigzags through two switchbacks, the engines alternately pushing then pulling passenger cars because the grade is so steep. After passing the entrance to Cass Cave, the railroad levels off for the stop at Whittaker Station, surrounded by green meadows and fine views of the countryside. There is a cool, shady picnic grove with tables where excursionists may rest and enjoy the scenery. Lunch is not included but concessions are available at the Whitaker Station Picnic Area.
