PORTFOLIO
Atrium was a concept without a name or face. Campus card systems are massive things; part identity, part debit, part room key, and more. In other words: a beast. The branding and creation of Atrium would have to reflect strength and security, but impart something that was revolutionary and easy to use. After multiple brainstorming sessions, we decided on “Atrium.” An atrium is an open space in the middle of a large building, but also a chamber of the heart, helping to regulate the flow of blood. The logo design is strong and iconic, conveying the message of Atrium much like the Nike swoosh or Apple’s iconic logo.
We were able to drill down the layers of functionality, software, and logistics of this product into three sentences: “Atrium is a revolutionary campus card management solution for institutions of any size. It provides the functionality of traditional systems… re-imagined for the future. Easy and powerful for administrators to use, Atrium is backed by personalized support and a 100% availability guarantee from a trusted name in the industry.” A website was created, and copy distilled the core functionality of the product into concise verbiage – without the distraction of acronyms and computer-ese.
Marketing materials were created for use at trade shows and during sales presentations. We collected addresses and began an email marketing campaign to both introduce Atrium to the world and also herald their successes with this revolutionary product. As Atrium began to reap excited clients, we helped to design customized dashboards for administrators, wedding the Atrium ascetic with their particular institution’s internal branding. We continue to partner with Atrium by designing and producing marketing materials, crafting and distributing email campaigns and press releases, and support their efforts with their clients.

Our partnership with Olli Salumeria began with an overhaul of their website. We edited content to bring the craft of artisan salumi to the forefront. A regular blog was established to highlight new products, talk about the specialized farmers that they partnered with, and illustrate the work that goes into making their delicious cured meats. In addition to blogging, we maintained their social media presence, and created and distributed email campaigns in both a BtoC and BtoB capacity.

Print collateral was created for both point of sale use and as presentation pieces for trade shows and sales calls. This extended to truck logos, letterhead, envelopes, package labels, and more.

The eCommerce portion of their website was also redesigned to provide more offerings and information to consumers and ease the process of ordering and receiving Olli Salumeria products.

When Olli Salumeria was approached to create a custom label for Whole Foods, we participated in naming conventions, logo creation and website for the new product – Gusto Craft – and all point of sale and marketing collateral. We also crafted a message and copy for the new brand that established it as its own, but remained true to the philosophy of Olli Salumeria.

Federal Realty owns and/or manages 103 shopping centers spread across 12 states and the District of Columbia. They also have interests in other retail properties and apartments, but our engagement is in the shopping center sector. While their overall occupancy rate in 2007 was around 97% (high for the industry), their property in Richmond, Virginia, Willow Lawn, struggled to remain relevant. Willow Lawn is the oldest shopping center in Richmond, and had gone through several painful transformations over the decades. Federal Realty was in the beginning stages of what would become an award winning renovation, and we were initially approached about created signage for the newly revitalized center. We urged and were approved for a new branding and messaging campaign to herald the “New Willow Lawn.
A new website was created to reflect the new branding and complement the openness of the new center (which was originally open in 1956, but enclosed in 1986). Print collateral, signage, window banners, and more were created to promote the renovated center and herald the arrival of new tenants. We continue to create these pieces, as well as branding, marketing, and promoting the several community events and festivals that are hosted at Willow Lawn.

We are Willow Lawn’s voice in blogs, press releases, social media, and customer service. Our early successes with this center resulted in our partnership with several other of their Mid-Atlantic properties. We are able to keep abreast of community news in places like Charlottesville, Arlington, and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This allows us to communicate with shoppers in these diverse locations as Federal Realty, and represent the needs and curiosities of their consumers.

We initially partnered with RichTech several years ago in a brand renovation. A new logo and website were created, a weekly blog and strategic plan for social media was established, and we began creating collateral for programs like WomenETC, their annual Gala, and RVATechJam. Technology, however, moves quickly. What was innovative 5 years ago is a relic today. We’ve again reinvented RichTech with an updated logo, new branding, and a fresh website. The branding and design work reflects both the growth of Central Virginia’s technology-based economy and the breakthroughs in technology that have occurred over the past several years.

RichTech relies on the Rocket Pop Media team for all print collateral, creative content for the web, press releases, email marketing, and sometimes even speechwriting. We have created videos, provided photographers for forums, and promotion for events. Their executive director, Robby Demeria, comes to us with an idea, and we provide the direction to bring it to life.
