REMA4US STREET FAIR 2025 WAS A HIT!

REMA4US hosted their Annual Street Fair to honor the merchants of Downtown Far Rockaway. Key partners included WBLS, Hot 97, and a special appearance by the reggae artist Taurus Riley. The lively DJs kept the crowd energized with a variety of tunes. Beach 20th between Mott Ave and Cornaga Ave was bustling with tents from local restaurants, authors showcasing their works, boutiques offering unique items, community programs, and a kids' play area featuring a bubble station. The weather was absolutely delightful, allowing attendees of all ages—from children to seniors—to fully enjoy the outdoor festivities!

REMA4US STREET FAIR 2025 WAS A HIT!

RDRC Launches Information Sessions for SEQBI Cohort 4 Fall 2025 In early September, RDRC launched it’s series of Information Sessions, to provide an overview of the program to potential participants. Registration for the Info Sessions are open to all registered small businesses with 2 years of tenure, that plan to serve Southeast Queens, NY. Register here. Powered by Resorts World NYC, SEQBI was established in the Fall of 2024, as a comprehensive business growth program that includes a free rigorous 8-week course focused on management operations, budgeting and accounting, marketing, e-commerce, supply chain management, and access-to-capital solutions. Each class is intentionally designed to build on the previous class, requiring Fellows to commit to 100% class attendance, complete class assignments, and successfully demonstrate how they will use the tools, resources, and newly acquired skills in their growth plan. To date, SEQBI Program has successfully graduated 45 businesses, with a goal of 60 by the end of 2025.

PSEG LONG ISLAND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT 2025 “Community Thrive” Program for 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) organizations (including Chambers of Commerce, Business Improvement District, and Civic Association) is now available. This year’s Community Thrive program includes prescriptive items. Custom project applications may also be submitted. All submissions will be reviewed by committee. Approval is not guaranteed. The maximum award is up to $10,000. Submissions should be for the downtown area or commercial district in general, and not for individual businesses. Projects at a location identified as a Disadvantaged Community (DAC) as per NYSERDA** may receive an extra 10% bonus. Qualified projects can be submitted until September 30, 2025, or until funds are exhausted. All applications must be submitted for approval before purchasing any items. Projects must be complete, and receipts submitted by December 1, 2025. Payment will be made after receipts and proof of payment by the Chamber/BID/Civic Association are submitted and a field inspection is done. Applicant agrees to participate in PSEG Long Island marketing and promotional activities related to any award provided for a period of up to 2 years after issuance of final payment. Recognition signage stating “Provided by PSEG Long Island” should be included in display and website coverage. Please tag #PSEGLI and #BusinessFirst in associated social media.

Airport Concession DisadvantagedBusiness Enterprise Fund Empire State Development (ESD) utilizing the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) has partnered with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to create the $50 million Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Fund (ACDBE Fund) providing support to certifiedACDBE businesses seeking concession opportunities at the John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and the LaGuardia Airport (LGA). How does the ACDBE Fund work?

• The fund provides $50 million in loan capital to Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and credit enhancements to banks to support certified ACDBEs already awarded or currently seeking airport concession opportunities at JFL or LGA. Program lenders use this capital along with matching capital from other resources to offer small business loans.

• Loans range from $500,000 up to $5,000,000. • Competitive interest rates, terms and fees are determined

by the individual program lenders. Lenders are responsible for applications and credit decisions.

What can the loan funds be used for?

• Typical uses of fundsareworking capital, acquisition of machinery and equipment and leasehold improvements at a NYC Airport business location.
