Word From The Publisher... Wow, 2023 was quite a year! When I think back on it, a lot of things changed in my life, both in my work and my personal life. During those uncertain times, I felt happy and sometimes scared. I was happy because I saw how I could become a better person and how my actions could make others feel good or not so good. I also felt scared because I wasn’t always sure if I was making the right choices. I would wonder, “Am I doing the right things?” Sometimes, I had to take risks, or else I would live a life full of “what ifs.” Having too many “what ifs” could stop me from having a full life and missing out on chances to do new things and learn. Not everything I planned turned out the way I thought it would, but no matter what happened, I learned to accept it and keep moving forward. I realized that I should always keep going, no matter what obstacles come my way. For me, life is all about the experiences I have. The important thing is how I react to those experiences. Even when bad things happen, I know that I can turn them into something good. And sometimes, even when good things happen, they can turn into challenges. So, how I react is the most important part. Lastly, I want to say thank you for letting me help and share my passions and dreams with you. I hope I inspired you to be the best you can be because you are the only one who can make that change in your life. “May Your Best Come Your Way by Helping Others.”

But there’s more to Aubrey than her love for the sea. She’s got an artistic spirit and a passion for cosmetology. Self-taught in makeup, she practices her skills by watching social media tutorials. Surprisingly, though, her dream isn’t in the beauty industry; it’s in criminal justice. Aubrey attends a criminal justice academy, preparing for a future in prosecuting and arresting criminals. She’s determined to make a difference in her community. When she’s not out on the water or practicing her makeup artistry, you’ll find Aubrey drawing, her artistic soul pouring onto paper. Hello, my name is Mary Renteria. I’m from Mexico, and I grew up in a small town called Corralejo Durango, surrounded by horses. But when I was 9 years old, my mother brought me to a different country.

Now that all the fun has passed, she needs to focus on her responsibilities, finish high school, and start thinking about which college she will attend to prepare for her future. She knows that I will always be by her side, supporting her, if God allows it.

I’ve lived almost my entire life here in Dallas, Texas. My two grown-up boys, Edward and Manuel, are from my first marriage. I also have a youngest daughter named Amy Gabriela.

I’ve always told her that I will be here until she prepares herself professionally and knows how to navigate life on her own. That would be the greatest pride of my life, and I pray for it every day.

My daughter and I share a special bond. She is my princess, and she has faced challenges with me. That’s why I’ve taught her to be strong and to face life’s challenges. I always tell her, “If life throws you to the ground, get up again and move on!” It doesn’t matter how many times it happens; what matters is that you learn from it so it doesn’t happen again. That’s what a 15-year-old girl knows by now.

Am I ready for her to continue growing into a mature, responsible, independent person? Mentally, I’m preparing for that, but in my heart, she will always be my naughty little princess.

We’re very close, and I’m her friend when she wants me to be. Let me tell you a little bit about her. She is incredibly smart, kind, sweet, innocent, and obedient. She has a very noble heart and loves to help others. The planning and preparation for special occasions like her Quinceañera were not easy, as I am a single mother, but I prefer to do everything myself. Her baptismal godparents bought her a beautiful dress, and she also received gifts like a crown, necklaces, a surprise gift, a ring, shoes, and earrings. The only thing missing was the doll and the last doll dance, but she didn’t even miss it!

In life, there are two paths to follow: the good and the bad. There are both good and bad people out there. I’m thankful for people like you, Robert and Claudia with MiDia Magazine who have helped us on our way. Thank you! We’re doing well!

Peso Pluma “For over 100 years, Girl Scouts have been selling cookies and gaining skills that help them in life.” The Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas (GSNETX) has started their 2024 Girl Scout Cookie season. It’s a big deal because it’s the world’s largest program where girls learn how to be entrepreneurs. During this exciting time, girls learn important skills like handling money, working in teams, speaking in public, and making decisions. They earn money to have fun adventures outdoors and do cool STEM activities.

Black Tap is donating $2.00 from every Girl Scout Cookie CrazyShake® they sell to GSNETX to support girls. They also want to help girls explore different careers.

When Girl Scouts sell cookies, they’re not just selling yummy treats; they’re also helping other Girl Scouts. All the money they make goes to support local Girl Scout groups. These funds help them do activities like community service, go to summer camps, and even travel to different parts of the world. This year’s theme, “Unbox the Future,” means they want to help girls break free from any limitations holding them back.

To buy Girl Scout Cookies this year, you can ask a Girl Scout you know, use the Digital Cookie app, have cookies delivered to your home, or donate cookies for a good cause. You can also check the Girl Scout Cookie Finder to find a nearby cookie booth. Girl Scout Cookie season in Northeast Texas runs from January 12 to February 25. The cookies are available at the same price across 32 counties in Northeast Texas. These cookies are kosher and halal-certified, which means they meet special dietary needs and don’t have unhealthy ingredients.

Celebrating Life “I took a deep breath and whispered, “This is it!” The waltz was one of the funniest moments; we were all super nervous and messed up, but we laughed it off and regained our composure during the surprise dance.” Picture this: I was just a 10-year-old, and the idea of having a Quinceañera was like a glittering star on the horizon of my dreams. As the years rolled by, my contemplations grew stronger, I was 13 until I was certain that I wanted this magical Quinceañera celebration. But the decision was no walk in the park. I was presented with three fantastic options - a car, a vacation to any spot I desired, or “La Quinceañera de mis sueños” (The fifteen of my dreams). Each choice held its unique significance because they were gifted to me by people who played crucial roles in my life - my godparents, my two incredible older siblings, and some cherished family friends. Now, let me share with you the incredible life lessons I gleaned from this unforgettable journey. First and foremost, it’s crucial never to take for granted anything your parents do or sacrifice. Being the daughter of a single mother, my mom has always been my ultimate role model. She relentlessly toiled to provide me with the best, even the things she never had herself. My mom orchestrated this entire Quinceañera extravaganza single-handedly, all for the sake of keeping a radiant smile on my face. I also learned the value of savoring every moment and ensuring that my smile never faded, because trust me, everyone notices, and the party flies by in a heartbeat! Now, let’s talk about memorable moments - my Quinceañera was packed with them, but two stand out as my absolute favorites. The first was the dances with my brothers. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine sharing such a special moment with them, and every day, I thank the stars above for making it possible. Then there was the dance with my mom - an intimate moment where it felt like we were the only two people in the room. I reminisced about every beautiful moment from my childhood right up to that very moment. If I had the chance to relive it, I wouldn’t because that moment was a true once-in-a-lifetime feeling.

As we embarked on the journey to the party, my friends and I were a whirlwind of emotions - nervousness and excitement all rolled into one. When we finally arrived, I rushed to my room to change into my dazzling dress. Looking at myself in the mirror, I took a deep breath and whispered, “This is it!” The waltz was one of the funniest moments; we were all super nervous and messed up, but we laughed it off and regained our composure during the surprise dance. One thing I can tell you for sure is that nothing ever turns out perfect, no matter how hard you try, so just go out there and have a blast! I believe that my mom has always been preparing me for this grand adventure, even though there were moments when I hesitated to accept it. I do believe I’m ready now, but I also know that there are countless incredible experiences waiting for me down the road. Now, let’s talk about my future plans, which are as exciting as they come. I dream of graduating high school and heading off to college to study criminology. And the best part? I want to take my mom with me every step of the way, as long as fate allows it. Without her, none of my dreams would be possible. In conclusion, my fellow adventurers, always remember that dreams do come true, and sometimes they arrive a little earlier than expected. Cherish every moment, dance like nobody’s watching, and most importantly, keep that radiant smile shining bright!

Adding a thermal shirt, sweater and coat keeps you warm and cozy. Coats are a great investment, choose one that is both insulated and windproof. It may be pricey but a coat with good quality never goes out of style. A turtleneck underneath a coat will always look great. Sweaters can also provide a fashionable look. I personally have quit the collection of knitted sweaters. They are my favorite, appropriate and cozy look. Gloves, hats and scarves are great to keep you extra warm and are stylish accessories. Do not forget to accessorize with jewelry to enhance and elevate your outfit. You can never go wrong with a bit of sparkle to complete your look.

The classic plaid never goes out during the winter season especially during Christmas you see a lot of red and black patterns. Darker colors such as deep blues, burgundy, dark greens and of course classic black are popular colors often used in the winter. These colors are not only stylish but also absorb and retain heat, keeping you warm. Another important factor to keep you warm is choosing the right fabrics such as wool sweaters or socks. Wool is a natural insulator that retains heat even when wet. Avoiding cotton is the way to go! Cotton retains moisture making you much colder. Fashion is all about your taste and personal style. As long as you feel comfortable and of course warm then it is the best outfit for YOU. Showing Japan’s long history and expectations for adulthood, Seijin no Hi dates back to the Heian Period from 794 to 1185 with the Genpuku ceremony honoring young people as they become adults. Young men and women wear special colorful and detailed clothes. Men often wear formal hakama pants. The clothes are colorful and detailed.
