January 2025 RMT WINS ABOVE INFLATION PAY OFFER FOR CLEANERS
Following a series of negotiations your RMT representatives have recently achieved an above inflation pay offer from Transport for Wales to address the 2024 pay claim for Gov Cleaners.
• Year Two-RPI increase (February 2025) applicable from 1st November 2025
Owing to the pressure applied by RMT the company tabled the following offer which was endorsed by the RMT National Executive Committee following a member’s consultation:
RMT members should be in no doubt that it is their strength of determination which has achieved progress in these negotiations achieving an increase more than that achieved in other Train Operating Companies.

Year One - 5% increase applicable from 1st November 2024
• No compulsory redundancy agreement
FURTHER CLEANERS’ TERMS AND CONDITIONS NEGOTIATIONS RMT is fully aware of the aspiration of members to make progress towards bridging the gap between that of Gov and Rail staff and to that end further negotiations will shortly commence with the company with a view to achieving progress in this regard. These negotiations are likely to be complex covering several proposed areas but please be assured that your RMT representatives are determined to secure the best possible proposal from the company for consideration. It is important to note that no agreement has been reached at this stage and that any eventual agreement would require a successful referendum of RMT members.
