Pay & Conditions of Service negotiation 2025

SPECIAL BULLETIN August 2025

Strike week commencing 7 September See over for details of when you should take strike action

The facts about negotiations: Your RMT negotiating reps have met management in an attempt to avert strike action but no improvement to the current offer has been made:

l These talks have been difficult from the start as RMT members have lost confidence in management to deliver on agreements.

l We still have no proposal to move forwards on extending the Priv travel facility. l Talks on moving away from pay banding towards spot salaries were delayed by management and now management is proposing spot salaries that would cut pay in some areas.

We demand real progress on the shorter working week: l LU must address fatigue, extreme shift working and the working week. l LU management has asked us to continue intense discussions on this issue. RMT will always press your interests in talks with LUL but management must shift from their current position.

l They ask us to address fatigue and extreme shifts by reformatting the current working hours,

function by function but management has shown that they will use this to try and force through more flexible working and job cuts.

l Every RMT member in LUL needs to see this approach defeated. We need an all-grades

commitment from management, including resources and real tangible first steps towards a shorter working week that reduces fatigue.

Support yourself, your workmates and RMT to fight for: l Real action on reducing fatigue and extreme shift-work: Yes to more time away from work: No to cynical attempts to make job cuts and enforce flexible working.

l Delivery on past commitments to extend Priv and remove some grades from banded pay into spot salaries.

l Boxing Day payments for all. l Every member must get the full consolidated pay increase – no picking and choosing through so-called business rules.
