In your opinion, who is the targeted audience and why should this novel matter to them?
In my opinion, the target audience are children aged 10 and over, young adults and adults young at heart. The novel should matter to them because, not only is it a mind stimulating fictional adventurous and motivating book, it is also something that the readers can also find enlightening, very entertaining and inspiring. The story takes you on an adventure that is filled with discovery, plenty of obstacles and victories, it shows the characters not giving up and staying steadfast in what they believe in, which in turn leads them into overcoming all the challenges they face, and in every new discovery they are still able to maintain and keep their values and not lose their integrity. I believe from all this; the reader can gain a lot of insight and learn a lot about how to deal with and face certain challenges they might encounter in life.

Captain Jack Sawyer & THE GOLDEN STATUE OF AURORA What are some of Captain Sawyer's characteristics that make him outstanding in the Kingdom and before the King?
Captain Jack Sawyer is a man of integrity. Someone the King can trust with his life and the life of his youngest daughter. Not only is the captain a great leader but he is also a humble man who respects every member of his crew which in turn causes them to respect him as a leader and a colleague. The Captain also has his faith and beliefs that he never compromised and a love for his Kingdom, so he serves both his King and his Kingdom so loyally it makes him a great man on valour. The devoted son, perfect gentleman, loving brother, loyal friend, courageous leader, honourable and obedient servant.
Since the Island of the Skull is so significant and some of the men never returned, what was necessary for the captain and his men to do to stay alive and to return home safely?
The captain and his crew had an advantage over all the other men who ventured in the waters to and from the island of the skulls because, the captain and his crew did not turn back or give up after the first sign of trouble. They also did not go by the rumours they had heard about certain tribes or people they encountered. Their attitude towards the people they met and encountered was not judgemental but respectful which gained them lifelong friendships, they learnt new things about each region they entered and they were also gifted equipment and devices they had never seen before, which they were able to use to navigate the dangerous water and to overcome the obstacles that occurred. They also did not allow fear, especially of the unknown,

What are some of life's lessons that the book teaches?
Some of the life's lessons that the book teaches are: You can be very successful and achieve your goals from just working hard, being dedicated, being determined, and having the right attitude because attitude determines your altitude. Doing things for the wrong reasons does not guarantee success in what you have set out to do and does not guarantee your happiness. Prayer can go where you cannot go. Selflessness and staying humble can make you a great leader and an amazing human being. Just having respect for other human beings earns you respect from them too. Always having the wrong intentions will lead you to becoming an outcast or outlaw. It is better to know a person or group of people for yourself instead of Judging them or going by what you have heard about them. Not everything you hear about a person is always the truth and it does not reveal who they really are.
When something is meant to be, it does not matter what anyone says or does to try and sabotage the progress. Sabotage will only just delay the inevitable and the process, but it will also not and cannot prevent what is meant to be from happening. In this case, Captain Jack Sawyer, and Princess Maya’s Love would always win. No matter how highly you think of yourself, you can still learn a lot from the meekest person you encounter, always value yourself and other human beings. When people work together in agreement and as part of a team, they are guaranteed to succeed.

I bought this book for my 8 year old son and he loves it! If your child loves mystery and adventure then this book is the one for them. He reads 10 pages every night and looks forward to what happens next. Highly recommended if you have children that love stories.
