“Cru and June are only 8 months and 5 days apart... While in Oklahoma for a funeral, I went into premature labor at 28 weeks with our first baby. Cru Alan McIntyre was born on July 11, 2024, in Durant, Oklahoma, weighing 3 pounds, 1 ounce. Shortly after, he was flown to the NICU at Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas, Texas. After driving down to meet him, we moved straight into the Ronald McDonald House, where we got settled for the foreseeable future. Our time spent in Dallas was eventful—between visiting Cru, an ER visit for myself, totaling our car, and finding out that we were expecting our second, it was an unforgettable 99 days. We brought Cru home at the end of October, and by March, we were back in the hospital expecting the arrival of baby #2. After going into labor at 27 weeks, getting labor stopped, and spending one week on bed rest, June Lee McIntyre arrived at 28 weeks on March 16, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri, weighing 3 pounds, 2 ounces. We moved into our second Ronald McDonald House and, again, settled in. With six days on bed rest and 93 days in the NICU, June Lee also spent 99 days in the hospital. We lived in 2 Ronald McDonald Houses for a total of 198 days within less than a year, and the word “grateful” does not even begin to describe our feelings. They not only gave us a place to sleep, but also fed us and welcomed us with open arms during our hardest days. I can’t imagine what the last year would have been like without RMH, the amazing NICU nurses, and the countless prayers from friends and family. Thank you, Ronald McDonald House, for being a huge blessing and a part of our story!”
