“Home is where your family is, and our newest

family member came into this world in a hurry on April 6, 2025! We had prayed and prayed for this sweet baby for years, and the fulfillment of our hearts’ desire came that morning when our eyes first saw Shiloh River—truly a gift from Heaven. God is so good! Shiloh had a rough start with a pneumothorax, so he needed to go to the NICU for care right after delivery. I will never forget those moments being rolled in on my hospital bed to go see my sweet miracle boy for the first time. All the emotions— gratitude for him being here and stable, mixed with the unknown of his condition— were overwhelming. All the fear, going through what felt like a battle to get him here in such a fragile state, to say the least. I had to stay in recovery for a couple of days before being discharged. When I was discharged, my husband and I went to stay with Shiloh in his NICU room. Here is where the Ronald McDonald House stepped in as a ray of sunshine in the midst of some cloudy days—a very vulnerable and emotional time our family was navigating. God truly knit them into our story of Shiloh’s arrival and made it something so beautiful to look back on. His faithfulness and provision were present every step of the way. RMH graciously opened their doors to us so we could use their facilities with a day pass. We lived close to the hospital; however, I did not want to leave my baby. I remember those long days and nights, and the feeling of going through those doors to be received with such love, care, and amazing service by the volunteers filled our hearts in such an unforgettable way. We are still in contact with our “other NICU & RMH buddies” who were staying there at that time—what a unique and special relationship you have when you go through a similar experience together. The hot showers helped melt the stress of the day away, and the meals prepared for us at night were so appreciated. Simply taking those small things off our plate was a huge deal, because it allowed us to spend that precious time with Shiloh. Shiloh’s big brother loved to visit the fish aquarium and grab a special snack from the table at the entrance. They even welcomed our family with open arms to come visit and share meals with us at night. Wow, what a blessing! We will forever be thankful for our home away from home at the Ronald McDonald House during the most precious first week of our newest family member’s life. Words just don’t do justice to how important this place is to countless families, including ours. Thank you to all who are a part of this amazing organization. What you do matters and plants seeds of love and hope that will produce beautiful fruit for years to come.”
