“Noble was born on July 2, 2025, at 1:05 a.m. I am a Type
1 diabetic, so my pregnancy was considered high-risk, and I had to be induced. My induction was scheduled for July 1, 2025, at 7:00 a.m. Labor began, and about 18 hours later, Noble was born. However, they had to rush me into a C-section because I was no longer dilating. When Noble took his first breath, he cried for just a few seconds and then stopped breathing. The medical team rushed him to the warming table, began chest compressions, and quickly transferred him to the NICU. He was placed on a CPAP because he was no longer breathing or crying. A caseworker asked if I would like her to check to see if a room was available for me at the Ronald McDonald House. She came back and told me she had secured one for me. When I was released from the hospital, I went home for the weekend and then returned to be with Noble and checked into the Ronald McDonald House. Everyone there was sweet, kind, and loving. They made me feel like family. I stayed until my boy was discharged on July 30, though I left the House on July 29 to be present for the 24-hour test to see how well I could care for him at home on my own. They made sure I had plenty of snacks to help manage my blood sugar and took care of everything I needed. I want to say thank you to the Ronald McDonald House for everything you do to help families.”
