“Our precious daughter, Emma, was born five weeks early at Mercy Hospital Springfield on
August 7, 2024. After four hours of active labor, Emma was not progressing, so our doctor made the decision that it was best for her to be delivered by C-section. Upon delivery, Emma had difficulty breathing due to a lack of oxygen in the womb and being born prematurely. After a quick kiss from Mom, Emma was rushed to the NICU. While visiting Emma in the NICU the next morning, her nurse told us about the Ronald McDonald House. We were accepted, and after our discharge, we checked in. The room was very comfortable—a place where we could rest, which was much needed after the C-section. We had access to a hot shower and laundry facilities, and through the generosity of local businesses and individuals, dinner was provided for us daily. We are extremely grateful for the Ronald McDonald House and their amazing staff, who made a very difficult time in our lives easier. We thank God for you and for everything you did for us.”
