Our cover story this issue is something for both our lead and lithium readers in our look at the rapidly increasing use of carbon in both chemistries to make our batteries last longer, more cost effective and suitable for so many different applications.
On a seasonal note, we’ve asked a selection of energy storage experts and some working in renewable energy for their take on the year ahead. Politically, economically and militarily this year looks to be a year of great change and trouble but one theme still looms large — energy and energy storage will continue to be the driving force in technological change in the years to come.
We also remember Lee Koenig who passed away at the start of the year. He was, the man who put Crown Battery on its road to success. We hope this issue gives you pause for thought — and not just on an industry that continues to push forward but the men and women that have driven it in the past and for those of us who follow in their footsteps.
Yours truly
