WHO IS LEWIS BLACK? Known as the king of the rant, LEWIS BLACK uses his trademark style of comedic yelling and animated finger-pointing to skewer anything and anyone that gets under his skin. His comedic brilliance lies in his ability to make people laugh at the absurdities of life, with topics that include current events, social media, politics and anything else that exposes the hypocrisy and madness he sees in the world. Receiving critical acclaim as a stand-up, actor and author, Black has performed for audiences throughout Europe, New Zealand, Canada and the United States. In 2012, he performed eight sell-out shows at Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway. Born in Washington D.C. on Aug. 30, 1948, Black was raised in Silver Spring, Md. Colicky as a baby, he was destined to be angry and easily irritated. His mother, a teacher, and his father, a mechanical engineer, instilled the importance of education and the necessity to question authority—lessons that influenced Black throughout his life. He fell in love with the theatre at age 12, after seeing his first play, which led to pursuing a career in drama. Degrees followed from the University of North Carolina and Yale Drama School, with a stint in Colorado owning a theatre with a group of friends in the interim. During his tenure at UNC, Black ventured into stand-up, performing at Cat’s Cradle in Chapel Hill. Stand-up was a steady presence as he pursued his career in theatre. Black eventually settled in New York City and became the playwright-in-residence at the West Bank Café’s Downstairs Theatre Bar. He oversaw the development of more than 1,000 plays, including works by “West Wing” creator Aaron Sorkin, “American Beauty” writer Alan Ball, as well as his own original works. In addition to overseeing the works on stage, Black emceed every show. As the West Bank grew, so did Black’s stand-up skills. He left the West Bank in the late 1980s to pursue stand-up full time. In 1996, his friend Lizz Winstead tapped him to create a weekly segment for Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show.” The segment, a three-minute 16
rant about whatever was bothering him at the moment, evolved into Back in Black, becoming one of the most popular and longest-running segments on the show for both the Jon Stewart era, and now The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. Black has also taped four specials for the “Comedy Central Presents” series, co-created “Last Laugh with Lewis Black” and presided over “Lewis Black’s The Root of All Evil.” His popular appearances on Comedy Central helped to win him Best Male Stand-Up at the American Comedy Awards in 2001. Increased exposure from “The Daily Show” generated a record deal with Stand Up! Records. His first CD, “The White Album,” was released in 2000 to critical acclaim. Black followed with eight more— six under the Comedy Central Records label. He has received five Grammy® nominations and two wins for his work. The first nomination came in 2006 for “Luther Burbank Performing Arts Center Blues,” the second in 2009 for “Anticipation.” In 2007 he won the Grammy for Best Comedy Album for “The Carnegie Hall Performance,” and again in 2011 for “Stark Raving Black.” His 2012 release, “In God We Rust” (Comedy Central Records) was also nominated for a Grammy. Black has filmed two specials for HBO, including “Black On Broadway” and “Red, White and Screwed.” The latter was nominated for an Emmy® in 2007. He had a regular feature for two seasons on “Inside the NFL” (for which he earned a Sports Emmy) and in 2006, he was asked to participate in “Comic Relief.” In 2009 Lewis filmed his first feature length concert film, “Stark Raving Black,” at the Fillmore Theatre in Detroit. The film had a limited run in theaters across the U.S. and Canada in the summer of 2010. At the end of the theater run, premium movie channel EpixHD picked up the film for its channel, along with the accompanying documentary, “Basic Black.” Both are aired regularly and can be found in the EpixHD on-demand queue. In 2011, he produced his second full-length concert, “In God We Rust,” which also airs on EpixHD. In August 2013, Black recorded his ninth stand-up special “Old Yeller: Live At The Borgata.” In 2015, Black joined the cast of Madoff (ABC mini series). Black portrays Ezra Merkin, who, af-
LEWIS BLACK ter investing with Madoff and receiving great returns, brought many famous and well-todo Jewish clients, including Elie Weisel and The Hadassah Organization, to Bernie’s fold. Black has appeared on “Larry King Live,” “Piers Morgan Tonight,” “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “Late Night with Conan O’ Brian” and “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.” Black has also had numerous appearances on CNN and MSNBC and has occasionally done the weather with Al Roker. In the midst of a rigorous touring schedule, regular TV appearances and movie roles, Black has written three best-selling books: “Nothing’s Sacred” (Simon and Schuster, 2005), “Me of Little Faith” (Riverhead Books, 2008) and “I’m Dreaming of a Black Christmas” (Riverhead Books, 2010). All garnered critical praise as well commercial success and spent numerous weeks on the New York Times best sellers list. Black has penned more than 40 plays, many of which have been produced around the country. “The Deal,” a dark comedy about business, was made into a short film in 1998 and picked up by the Sundance Channel. In 2011, his play “One Slight Hitch” was produced at the Williamstown Theatre Festival and then again in 2012 at both the ACT Theatre in Seattle and The George Street Theatre in New Brunswick. In 2006, Black had a break-out year as an actor, co-starring with Robin Williams in Barry Levinson’s “Man of the Year” (Universal Pictures). He also appeared as “the fake dean of a fake college” in Steve Pink’s “Accepted” (Universal Pictures) and as the harried airport manager in Paul Feig’s “Unaccompanied Minors” (Warner Bros.). He lent his voice to Jimmy in Bob Saget’s parody “Farce of the Penguins” (Thinkfilm). In 2015, Black notably voiced the character “Anger” in the Academy Award winning film from Pixar, “Inside Out.” The film is about an 11-year-oldgirl, Riley, who is dealing with a move across the country, and wrestling with the emotions inside her head: Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Fear (Bill Hader), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and, Lewis Black. Early film pitches actually
named the comedian to illustrate how an iconic voice like Black’s could bring a character like Anger to life. Black, who’s a fan of all things Pixar, calls the opportunity a career-defining role. “I knew from the very beginning that this was going to be special,” he says. “I’ll be remembered as this little red guy who yells and his head goes on fire.” As a long time mentor with the 52nd Street Project, Black was roasted in Charred Black 2007, which drew the largest fundraising numbers in the Project’s history. He’s a member of their advisory board, is co-chair of their capital campaign, and in 2000, the Ron Black Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in memory of his late brother. Black is also committed to raising funds for the Rusty Magee Clinic for Families and Health. He’s a strong supporter of both the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Autism Speaks and was honored by The Brady Center for his commitment to ending gun violence. In 2012, he was honored by the ACLU of Georgia with their National Civil Liberties Award. At the Williamstown Theatre Festival, he established the William Foeller Fellowship, having taught and performed at the festival for more than a decade. Black also supports our military personnel and has performed in three tours with the USO, visiting several Middle Eastern and European military bases with Robin Williams, Lance Armstrong, Kid Rock, Miss America Rachel Smith and Kellie Pickler. Black resides in both Manhattan and Chapel Hill, N.C. Still loyal to his alma mater, he’s worked with UNC students to create the Carolina Comedy Festival, a yearly festival on the UNC campus that highlights performances and provides workshops and lectures for budding comics, writers and performers. With his involvement at UNC, Black continues a life-long commitment to education and the arts. He continues to tour heavily, playing countless dates each year and providing a cathartic release of anger and disillusionment for his audience. In his leisure time, Black likes to play golf, even though golf hates him.

TIEN TRAN (Ensemble) got her start in comedy as an undergrad at Boston College and has spent the last six years performing with the sketch group Astronaut Theatre at festivals and venues around the country. As a standup, she’s performed at showcases throughout the city and was most recently featured at the 2016 Second City NBCUniversal Break Out Comedy Festival. STEVE WALTIEN (Writer) is a television writer and an alum of The Second City Mainstage. PHILLIP JAMES RANDALL (Production Stage Manager/ Company Manager) appeared on Broadway and off-Broadway (OBIE nominee), worked on stages in 42 of the 50 states and England, and on television as a regular in two
series- produced four motion pictures, directed theatre productions, oversaw the entertainment for the 1984 Olympics . In Las Vegas, production stage managed the Rockettes, Second City, de la guarda, and served as production manager for Robert Goulet for twelve years and just concluded ten years as PSM for Menopause the Musical also serves on the Board of the Arts Management College at Oklahoma City University. AYAKA KINUGAWA (Music Director) is a composer and a music educator, who started playing music when she was still wearing diapers. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies as well as a Diploma in Classical Music. She performs with numerous ensembles and composes music for commercials and short films. Recently, Ayaka spent 8 months on a cruise ship, living, traveling, and performing with the Second City Theatricals. SHOW ORIGINS
Pilobolus has used a signature collaborative creative process, a weight-sharing approach to partnering, and a shape-shifting perspective to create sculptural body creations since our inception in 1971. We are always hungry to try new things. In 2006, we created a television advertisement for Hyundai in which we made a car with human bodies, a single light source, and a screen. A few months later, we were asked to make live iconic film images in moving shadow live at the 79th Annual Academy Awards ceremony. A new style of shadow-theater was born. Our appetite for experimenting in a new medium had been whetted. In 2009, after much experimentation, we decided to use shadow-theater to develop a story that we wanted to tell about growing up, creating our first evening-length narrative dance, Shadowland. Our show is not exclusively a work of shadows; athletic choreography takes place both in front of and in back of the screen, using a handmade, “DIY” kind of multimedia to create illusions and tell its tale. Pilobolus created Shadowland with two brilliant collaborators: Steven Banks, the head writer for the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, and David Poe, the American musician, producer, and film composer. Many different dancers, designers, artisans, technicians, international promoters, and agents have contributed to Shadowland’s journey through 32 countries around the world. Pilobolus, in collaboration with NYU Skirball for the Performing Arts, presented the U.S. Premiere of Shadowland in November, 2015 and is grateful to everyone who has made it possible to share Shadowland with our home audiences across North America.
THE STORY Night. A teenage girl prepares for bed. As she falls asleep, the wall of her room mysteriously starts to spin, trapping her on the other side—a transfigured body stuck in the land of shadows. Unable to escape, the girl sets off on a journey of discovery. Strange creatures appear along the way—at once comic and evil, threatening and seductive. With Pilobolus’s acrobatic movement, the humor of cartoons, and the heart of a love story, Shadowland celebrates the power of dreams to help us discover who we’re born to be.
ABOUT PILOBOLUS Pilobolus is an internationally acclaimed collective, renowned for its unique, diverse collaborations that ignore preconceived barriers between creative disciplines. The company is committed to constantly making things, always creating collaboratively, and continually exploring ways of using the human body as a graphic and expressive medium. Pilobolus was founded in 1971 by a group of Dartmouth College students with no training in dance and no interest in playing by the rules. SHAWN FITZGERALD AHERN (Dance Captain) grew up in Dublin, New Hampshire. He made his dancing debut at age three, enthusiastically jumping around on the living room couch in his tighty-whiteys to the sound of the B-52s. Since, he has studied in Austria and in the granite state and graduated magna cum laude from Keene State College as a theatre and dance major under the mentorship of William Seigh. Shawn owes his passion for movement and for learning to his family, as well as the inspired instructors at KSC and the American Dance Festival. Shawn thanks you for sustaining the arts, and he thanks his family from the bottom of his heart for all of the unending support and love they bring into his life. Shawn joined Pilobolus in 2010.
KRYSTAL BUTLER (Dancer) began her dance training at Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. under the direction of Sandra Fortune. Krystal moved to New York City and graduated from Long Island University. She has received scholarships and completed summer programs at the Ailey School, ADF, Earl Mosley Institute for the Arts and Arke’ Danza. Krystal was a member of INSPIRIT, a dance company and Forces of Nature Dance Theater. She has toured in Senegal with the theater company Art Creates Life, performing in the play, Junkanoo and in Europe in the show MAGNIFICO produced by Andre Heller with choreography by Pilobolus. She has been a member of Pilobolus since 2011, spending 3 years touring Shadowland and now in her second year with Pilobolus Dance Theater.
ANTOINE BANKS-SULLIVAN (Dancer) was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Whitney Young Magnet High School where he began dance training under the instruction of Lisa Johnson-Willingham at the age of 16. He has since trained with Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, Ballet Chicago, Joel Hall, and Central Florida Ballet. Since his first contract with Walt Disney Co., Antoine has danced with Busch Gardens Florida, Cleo Parker Robinson, High School Musical Live, Cirque Dreams, and Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theater. In his free time Antoine enjoys cooking, party planning, and traveling the world. He would like to thank his friends and family, especially his loving mother and husband Thomas for their unending support. Antoine joined Pilobolus in 2014.
HEATHER JEANE FAVRETTO (Dog Girl/Dancer) grew up in New Jersey where her hyperactivity as a child drove her parents to place her in dance classes. Sixteen years later, she received her BFA in Dance from Rutgers University and was awarded the Dance Express Honor for four years of consistently outstanding choreography. Upon graduation she worked for Douglas Dunn and Dancers, Cleo Mack Dance Project, and Naganuma Dance. She first joined Pilobolus in 2010 to work on a musical adaptation of James and the Giant Peach at Goodspeed Operahouse. Other favorites with Pilobolus include: Radiolab Live: In The Dark, a collaboration with WNYC radio moguls (and personal heroes) Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich, and best of all Shadowland! She joined the cast in 2012 and has been having a blast ever since!
KLARA BEYELER (Dancer) comes from South West France. She started dancing at age six and has trained in many different styles, while gradually starting to teach and choreograph as well. At 21, she graduated with a degree in Philosophy and headed for New York City to study at the Broadway Dance Center. She quickly started to dance for Cecilia Marta, Battery Dance, Enforced Arch, Artichoke Dance, and Eva Dean Dance. She joined Pilobolus in 2013 and is grateful and excited to be a part of the Shadowland cast.
DERION LOMAN (Dancer) was born in Fairfield, California. His interest in dance came from his involvement in color guard, where he toured with the World Championship Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. Derion started dancing his sophomore year of college and graduated in 2012 with a B.A. in Psychology and a B.F.A. in Dance from the University of California Santa Barbara. He was also a pioneer member of BHdos, Ballet Hispanico’s Second Company, where he performed at a variety of events and venues

He started with Pilobolus as the company’s first-ever Dancer Apprentice and was cast as a full time company member in 2014. Derion would like to thank his colleagues, mentors, friends, family, and you - the audience - for allowing him to cultivate and share his artistry. SAYER MANSFIELD (Dancer) grew up north of Boston, Massachusetts and received her classical training with the Royal Academy of Dance, Boston Ballet and Joffrey Ballet Schools. Sayer began her modern dance training in high school at Phillips Academy Andover, working and performing with the Mark Morris Dance Group and the José Limón Dance Company. Sayer studied at the Laban Conservatoire for Dance in London, at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance in Austria and received her BFA in Dance from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, graduating in May of 2014. Sayer joined Pilobolus Dance Theater in 2014, first as an apprentice, and now as a part of the cast and creation of Shadowland 2. TEO SPENCER (Dancer) a Vermont native, studied at the University of San Martin in Argentina, where he specialized in aerial fabric. After completing his studies, Teo performed with Fuerza Bruta and Prix Dami. His credits include a performance for the presidency of Argentina and the award of ‘Best Overall Performance’ at the Denver Aerial Arts Festival. Teo returned to North America with a passion for combining circus and dance. He completed a year-long apprenticeship with Pilobolus this winter and is thrilled to continue with the company as part of the Shadowland 2 collaboration and performances! MIKE TYUS (Dancer) grew up in Los Angeles and started training in jazz and ballet at the age of 12. He began performing professionally three years later and fell in love with the power of live art. He was given the opportunity to share his passion touring the world with dance theater company Urban Poets and the Montrealbased circus company Cirque Du Soleil. Mike joined Pilobolus in 2013.
CREATIVE TEAM
MICHAEL TRACY (Charter Artistic Director) was born in Florence and raised in New England. He met the other Pilobolus founders at Dartmouth in 1969, and became an artistic director after graduating magna cum laude in 1973. Michael toured with Pilobolus for 14 years and has choreographed and directed the company ever since. He has set his work on the Joffrey, Ohio, Hartford, Nancy and Verona Ballets and choreographed a production of Mozart’s Magic Flute with John Eliot Gardiner, the Monteverdi Choir and the English Baroque Soloists, and a national tour production for the National Theater of the Deaf. Michael taught at Yale University for two decades and lives in northwestern Connecticut. ITAMAR KUBOVY (Executive Producer) oversees the many moving parts of Pilobolus. After joining Pilobolus in 2004, he founded Pilobolus’ acclaimed International Collaborators Project, a program that invites artists and thinkers from diverse fields to participate Pilobolus’ collaborative choreographic process. He also grew the business of Pilobolus Creative Services, collaborating with clients to develop custom movement and storytelling for film, advertising, publishing, and corporate events. Itamar was born in Israel and grew up in New Haven, where he studied philosophy at Yale. Prior to joining Pilobolus, he ran theaters in Germany and Sweden, directed plays by John Guare, co-directed the 2002 season finale of The West Wing, and made a film, Upheaval, starring Frances McDormand. RENÉE JAWORSKI (Associate Artistic Director) received her BFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Upon graduating she began work with MOMIX, performing and teaching throughout the world as well as creating her own work in Philadelphia. She began performing with Pilobolus in 2000. Renée has served as choreographer and creator for exciting projects and collaborations such as the 79th Annual Academy Awards, the Grammy® nominated video for OKGo’s All is Not Lost, Radiolab Live: In the Dark, and has worked with myriad outside artists through the International Collaborator’s Project. In 2010, her alma mater honored her with the University’s Silver Star Alumni Award for her work as an artist in the field of dance. Renée lives in Connecticut with her husband and daughter.
MATT KENT (Associate Artistic Director) has worked ROBBY BARNETT (Charter Artistic Director) was born with Pilobolus since 1996 as a dancer, collaborator, and raised in the Adirondack Mountains and attended creative director, and choreographer. Past Pilobolus Dartmouth College. He joined Pilobolus in 1971. projects include Head Choreographer for Andre

PILOBOLUS: SHADOWLAND Heller’s Magnifico, a large-scale circus production; choreographer for a Sports Emmy-nominated teaser created in collaboration with the NFL network; and choreographer for a television appearance on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. His work for Pilobolus on Shakespeare’s The Tempest, co-directed by Teller and Aaron Posner was nominated for ‘Best Choreography’ by the L.A. Drama Critics Circle. Outside of Pilobolus, he has worked as zombie choreographer for AMC’s hit series “The Walking Dead”, as movement consultant on the Duncan Sheik musical Whisper House, and created family and children’s performances with Rob Kapilow. Matt lives in Connecticut with his wife and two sons. STEVEN BANKS (Creative Collaborator) is the Emmynominated head writer of SpongeBob Squarepants. He wrote and starred in the critically acclaimed oneman play Home Entertainment Center which aired on Showtime and won L.A. Weekly, Drama-Logue and Bay Area Critic’s Circle Awards and is featured on HULU. He also created and starred in the national PBS series The Steven Banks Show. His Young Adult novel, King of the Creeps, was published by Knopf. His plays include Love Tapes (co-written with Penn Jillette) and New York productions of Looking at Christmas and American Love Sex Death. Film and TV credits include Mom, My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Aristocrats and The Jimmy Kimmel Show. He is currently creating a show for The Disney Channel. He attended Ringling Brother’s & Barnum and Bailey’s Clown College. DAVID POE (Composer) performed, composed and produced the music for Shadowland and Shadowland 2: The New Adventure. He has toured the world with the likes of Bob Dylan, Joan Baez and Tori Amos, and his songs have been recorded by several other artists, including T-Bone Burnett, Curtis Stigers, Oh Land, Ana Moura, Thomas Dybdahl, Grace Kelly, the cast of Nashville, Grace Potter and Daryl Hall. David’s work also appears in a variety of film and television projects. He has scored numerous films and was named a composer fellow of the Sundance Institute in 2009. Solo recordings include his most recent effort God & The Girl, as well as Shadowland and Shadowland 2, The Late Album, Love Is Red, The Copier: Music for Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet and his self-titled debut, produced by T-Bone Burnett. MARK FUCIK (Shadowland Creative Director) is a native of Walnut Creek, California. He attended Rutgers University where he earned his BA in Theater Arts. He started dancing at 21 and hasn’t looked back. He joined Pilobolus in 2001 and danced with the main company until 2005. He then began working with the company in many different capacities performing with Pilobolus Creative Services, teaching, and serving as Associate Creative Director. He has taught future generations of dancers in Pilobolus workshops, as well as on his own classes at colleges and Universities around the US. He was excited to get back into the studio to create Shadowland, and toured with the original Shadowland cast for two years. He has spent the last five years as the Assistant Artistic Director of Alison Chase Performance. As always, Mark thanks his family and his patient and understanding husband Collin for all their love and support. NEIL PETER JAMPOLIS (Lighting Designer & Pilobolus Éminence Grise) has been designing for Pilobolus since 1975, creating more than 60 new works for the company. He has also had a fifty-year active career as a set, lighting and costume designer for Broadway—where he has received four Tony Nominations and a Tony Award—and for Off-Broadway, Dance, Regional Theater, and Opera, which he also directs. His designs, large and small, have appeared on every continent. His most recent New York outing was lighting the Metropolitan Opera’s Iphigenie en Tauride. Neil is a Distinguished Professor of Theater at UCLA. NEIL PATEL (Scenic Design) Recent works include the New York premieres of Perfect Arrangement, The Way We Get By, Mr. Burns A Post-Electric Play, Stage Kiss, Father Comes Home from the Wars (Parts 1, 2 and 3), The Lion, and the feature films Some Velvet Morning, Loitering With Intent and Dil Dahdakne Do. Past credits include Side Man on Broadway, the West End, and the Kennedy Center, [title of show] on Broadway, Dinner with Friends, Bright Sheng’s Madame Mao at the Santa Fe Opera, Amon Miyamoto’s Cosi Fan Tutte in Tokyo (Japanese National Art Festival Award for theatrical production), and HBO’s Peabody Award winning In Treatment. Awards include: Obie Award for sustained excellence, Helen Hayes Award, Henry Hewes and Drama Desk nominations. His design for This Beautiful City was chosen for the 2011 American Exhibit at the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space.
PILOBOLUS: SHADOWLAND LIZ PRINCE (Costume Designer) designs costumes for dance, theater and film and has designed costumes for numerous Pilobolus productions. Her costumes have been exhibited at The Cleveland center for Contemporary Art, The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Snug Harbor Cultural Center, Rockland Center for the Arts and the 2011 Prague Quadrennial. She received a 1990 New York Dance and Performance Award (BESSIE) for costume design as well as a 2008 Charles Flint Kellogg Award in Arts and Letters from Bard College.

Creative Director: Mark Fucik SHELBY SONNENBERG (Production Stage Manager) was born and raised in Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison) with a BFA in Dance in 2012, and completed production apprenticeships at Bates Dance Festival and New York Live Arts in 2013. Shelby joined Pilobolus in 2014 and would like to thank her mom and dad for all their love and support.

GREGORY LAFFEY (Props Artisan) is a designer and maker from Pittsburgh, PA. He specializes in sets, props, and costumes for dance, theater, and film. Gregory now lives in New York City and has been working on various Pilobolus projects since 2009. Favorite Pilobolus projects include Shadowland, Radiolab Live: In the Dark, and anything that takes him out of the country. YANNICK GODTS (Lighting Supervisor) started with Pilobolus in 2013 as a production intern and has been with the company ever since. In 2014, he joined the staff of Shadowland and has been to four continents with the show since then. When not on the road or in the Pilobolus studio, he lives in Washington, D.C. and works as a visual artist, graphic designer, and lighting and scenic designer at large. He thanks his family for their encouragement and friends for putting up with the fact that he’s never home. Current projects include Ever After, a collaboration with Goldrich and director Kathleen Marshall; Freakin Fabulous, an original musical with Goldrich and bestselling author and stylemaker Clinton Kelly; The Great American Mousical, premiering this November at Goodspeed Opera House, and Screaming Like a Fool, a collection of romantic comedy songs. Alphabet City Cycle, a collection of her poems set to music by Georgia Stitt, was recorded by Kate Baldwin and released by PS Classics in 2008 She is also the coauthor of Goldrich and Heisler, Songbook, Vol. 1, now in its fifth printing, and released both a new CD and Songbook Volume 2 in November of 2009. As a lyricist, Ms. Heisler has contributed songs for many Disney projects, including “Johnny and The Sprites” (Disney Television), “Pooh’s Learning Adventures” (Disney Toon Studios), and “The D Show” (Disney Interactive). She recently collaborated with composer Michael Picton on songs for Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus 137th Edition. An active member of the Publications Committee of the Dramatists Guild, Ms. Heisler is a contributing writer to Dramatist magazine. She graduated with High Honors from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts Dramatic Writing Program, and previously studied acting at Northwestern University. ZINA GOLDRICH (Music) was honored with the 2009 Fred Ebb Award for excellence in songwriting. Along with longtime lyricist, Marcy Heisler, she is currently working on the musical adaptation of Ever After with director Kathleen Marshall. She earned a Drama Desk nomination for Best Music for her work on the OffBroadway show Dear Edwina. She also composed the score for Junie B. Jones, which was nominated for 42
the Lucille Lortel Award and tours nationwide. She composed the score of Snow White, Rose Red (and Fred) for the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C, which was nominated for three Helen Hayes Awards. She has also been a staff songwriter for Walt Disney Feature Animation. With Heisler, she is writing the score for Freakin’ Fabulous, a new musical with book by stylemaker Clinton Kelly from TLC’s “What Not to Wear.” Goldrich has played keyboards on Broadway for Avenue Q, Bombay Dreams, Oklahoma! and Titanic, where she also conducted. She has published Goldrich and Heisler Songbook Volume 1 (now in its fifth printing), Goldrich and Heisler Songbook Volume 2, and has recorded the album Marcy and Zina: The Album for Yellow Sound Label. Currently, she is composing music for The Great American Mousical, directed by Julie Andrews for Goodspeed Opera House. DENNIS CORSI (Director) is the artistic associate of the Bingham Camp Theatre Retreat, focused on the development of new work celebrating diversity. He is creative director of Script Match, an app simplifying the process of finding plays and musicals. Dennis is the video director at B • OUT, an LGBTQ media company, where he has directed the new television series In Pursuit. HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS The highly acclaimed touring show, American Big Band is back with an all new Christmas production, Home for the Holidays! A giant Christmas wreath serves as the center entrance supported by oversized Christmas trees surrounded by gifts of the season, which also creatively used as “playing levels� for the show. An amazing eleven-piece big band along with six outstanding singers and dancers fill the stage with majestic and lush arrangements of Christmas favorites. Glorious, colorful costumes in our grand Christmas setting enhance the exciting choreographic routines as the joy of Christmas comes to your home for the holidays!

Ticket Information The RiverCenter box office has tickets available for these series and events: TSYS Broadway on Broadway, Synovus Center Stage, RiverCenter Music, Discovery Matinees, and Spotlight Spe cials. Tickets also are available for programs presented by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, CSU Schwob School of Music, and various thirdparty presenters. The box office accepts cash, and all major credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
SINGLE TICKETS—Single tickets to individual RiverCenter events may be purchased without a service charge at the box office at the corner of Broadway and Tenth Street. For a service charge, tickets also may be purchased online at tickets. com.
TICKETS AT THE DOOR—Tickets to events that are not sold-out may be purchased at the box office beginning one hour before the start of the event.
SPECIAL DISCOUNTS—Patrons must come to the box office to take advantage of most special promotions and discounts. Military, Public Service, Educator and Senior discounts are avail able on single ticket purchases to most events. Student Rush prices are available all day on the day-of-show at most events. Patrons using vouchers or gift certificates should note dead lines and restrictions that apply. No refunds are given for ticket price variances or special offers.

PARKING—Parking is available in the parking garage directly in front of RiverCenter, 900 Broadway. A fee of $2.00-$5.00 is charged after 6:00pm for some events. Parking for those with disabilities is available in front of RiverCenter’s main entrance. Parking also is available without charge on the streets around RiverCenter. The garage is managed by the City of Columbus, not RiverCenter.
