After a long intermission, we are so happy to see you back at RiverCenter. Throughout these uncertain times, our staff has been hard at work adapting to meet the needs of our community—from providing space supporting social distancing for community meetings and for safe gathering to blood drives and our ever-popular Gingerbread Village. We offered live streaming of Broadway stars and other virtual opportunities to experience the performing arts. Through it all, it was abundantly clear that what our audiences and patrons really wanted is what RiverCenter does best and that is live performances in the best of Broadway touring productions, quality educational programs, popular singers and events that help us celebrate life.

We were hard at work to say abreast of the touring market and are so pleased to offer this season with a couple of surprises! The Broadway series is back with Waitress, Hairspray, Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and more. The Center Stage series continues with the Little River Band, the Canadian Brass and more. New to our programming is the Virginia Norman Classical Music series, this year bringing the exquisite Academy of St Martin in the Fields with the incomparable violinist, Joshua Bell. This season we are introducing The Wave. This magnificent digital theatre organ is a new addition to RiverCenter brought to our community through a partnership with the Atlanta Chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society. The Wave will thrill audiences with concerts in the Bill Heard Theatre, silent pictures in the Studio Theatre, and add a new dimension of programming to be heard in Legacy Hall. Look for a very special celebration in October at the start of our season, a charming holiday program in the first weekend in December and more as we explore the opportunities with The Wave. All are guaranteed to be pure fun! Our education programming continues with performances in the theatre for area schools. This season for high-school programming we bring the extraordinary Aquila Theatre with their matinee production of Macbeth and, in the evening, a performance of The Great Gatsby. All of this would not be possible with you—our live audiences. You are vital to our success and we are ever grateful for your support and willingness to spend time with us. As the months unfold, we will do our very best to keep these performances coming and also to keep you safe and comfortable in our theatre. Thank you for coming back to RiverCenter. From that vision she left a substantial bequest to the RiverCenter, Inc. for the sole purpose of bringing the finest classical music to Columbus. Her philanthropy provides the necessary support to facilitate RiverCenter in planning and presenting just what she envisioned. For this program to thrive, continued and added support is necessary. The first Major ensemble to appear in this series is the full Academy of St Martin in the Fields Orchestra with Joshua Bell on February 22, 2022. About Dionne Warwick Dionne Warwick is a six-time Grammy Awardwinning music legend who has earned more than 75 charted hit songs and sold over 100 million records. She was discovered by Burt Bacharach and Hal David in 1961,and went on to record 18 consecutive Top 100 singles (“Don’t Make Me Over,” Walk on By,” “Say a Little Prayer,” “A House is Not a Home,” “Alfie,” “Heartbreaker,” “Déjà Vu,” among countless others). She received her first Grammy in 1968 for “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?”. Ms. Warwick became the first African-American solo female artist of her generation to win the prestigious award for Best Contemporary Female Vocalist Performance. In 1985, she was instrumental in the recording of “That’s What Friends Are For,” (with Elton John, Stevie Wonder & Gladys Knight), which became a number-one hit worldwide and raised awareness and major funds for AIDS research, which she continues to support, among other causes such as The Starlight Foundation, children’s hospitals, world hunger, disaster relief, and music education for which she has been honored and has raised millions of dollars. Ms. Warwick also participated in the all-star charity single, “We Are the World” and performed at “Live Aid.” Ms. Warwick has been honored by AMFAR, the Desert Aids Project, and Clive Davis at his pre-Grammy party. Ms. Warwick was also inducted into The Grammy Museum where a special 50th Anniversary career exhibit was unveiled. Most recently, Ms. Warwick released a star-studded duets album entitled, “Feels So Good,” featuring collaborations with some of today’s greatest artists. Warwick was the recipient of the coveted and prestigious 2017 Marian Anderson Award for her career accomplishments and philanthropy, she was honored in a 2018 PBS Television Special, “Then Came You,” was named 2019 Ambassador to the Smithsonian Institute’s Year in Music and is a 2019 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. She recently released two new albums, “She’s Back,” including a remake of her anthem, “What the World Needs Now,” and a holiday album, “The Voices of Christmas.” Dionne recently suspended her ongoing Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace and is staying safely at her home in South Orange, New Jersey. She looks forward to returning to the stage in Las Vegas and postponed concert dates around the world when it will be safe to do so.

About Little River Band The Eagles founding member, the late Glenn Frey, knew what he was saying when he dubbed Little River Band “the best singing band in the world.” Through the ‘70’s and ‘80’s, LRB enjoyed huge chart success with multi-platinum albums and chart topping hits like: “Reminiscing”, “Cool Change”, “Lonesome Loser”, “The Night Owls”, “Take It Easy On Me”, “Help Is on Its Way”, “Happy Anniversary”, “We Two”, “Man On Your Mind”, “The Other Guy”, and It’s A Long Way There”. Worldwide album, CD sales and digital downloads now top 35 million and LRB has set a record for having had Top 10 hits for 6 consecutive years. In fact, they were the very first band to achieve that remarkable status! According to BMI, “Reminiscing” has garnered rare status with over 5 million airplays on American radio, and “Lady” is close behind with over 4 million airplays. Bassist/vocalist Wayne Nelson joined the band in 1980, and worked alongside founding members with some of the most distinctive harmonies and vocal abilities, creating the unique LRB sound. In 1981,

Nelson was recognized by world renowned Beatles producer Sir George Martin who, while producing ‘Time Exposure’, chose Nelson to record lead vocals on two of the band’s biggest hits, “The Night Owls” and “Take It Easy On Me.” Later that same year, guitarist extraordinaire Stephen Housden joined LRB bringing a rock element into the band’s sound and helped contribute to their string of Top 10 hits. As band members departed, both Housden and Nelson worked together to bring LRB into the new millennium. To date, lead singer/bassist Wayne Nelson has contributed his vocal and bass guitar talents on 22 Little River Band Albums/CD’s. LRB continues to perform to sold out audiences, and Stephen Housden continues to write and participate in all things Little River Band. In 2004, LRB was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame at the 18th Annual ARIA Music Awards and in September 2015 the band was awarded Casino Entertainer of the Year at the G2E Gaming Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Turning the page brings us to the current lineup of Little River Band… Keyboardist Chris Marion is a Dove Award-winning producer. Chris is the creator of all the orchestral arrangements and charts on The Big Box. It is amazing to watch him play, sing, and conduct from his riser! Lead Guitarist Rich Herring is a highly skilled player, singer, and producer of many Nashville artists…not to mention a great songwriter. He and Wayne have coproduced every LRB project since he joined the band.

Drummer Ryan Ricks has locked down the rhythm section, and rounds out the vocals with his incredible range. Great singing drummers are rare…and LRB is lucky to have Ryan as part of that all-important vocal blend. Nashville Guitarist Colin Whinnery plays rhythm and lead guitar, and shares lead vocal duties with Wayne. He brings a brand new voice and a fresh outlook to the rhythm section.

Early 2014 saw the release of LRB’s, ‘Cuts Like a Diamond,’ on Frontiers Records. “What If You’re Wrong,” went to #1 and stayed there for 3 weeks says Jim Shoe of CLASSX Radio. “Forever You, Forever Me,” and “You Dream, I’ll Drive,” both climbed into the station’s TOP 3. In November of 2016, LRB released, ‘The Hits…Revisited,’ on Wurld Records - a CD consisting of 9 re-recorded hits along with 2 new songs.

May of 2017 brought the release of ‘The Big Box’ — a box set consisting of 6 discs featuring a DVD with live footage from their 40th Anniversary Tour. In November of 2020, during the pandemic, and in partnership with TIME LIFE, the orchestra accompanied ear candy ‘BLACK TIE,’ was released to rave reviews. Bringing their vocal and musical energy along with great arrangements to their timeless classic hits, each show creates new memories for the audience. The band enjoys watching their fans fall in love with the songs all over again as they are swept up by the show’s powerful performance and the volume of hits from LRB’s history. With 90-100 dates being scheduled for their 2021-2022 tour, LRB is hotter than ever selling out shows and making music coast to coast continuing their legacy of being “the best singing band in the world.”

NO BABIES IN ARMS: Everyone attending a ticketed event, including all children regardless of age, must have a ticket.

» Face masks are a requirement for everyone who enters the building. When worn properly, the mask should be covering both your mouth and nose and must be worn at all times for the duration of your time in the building, unless you are eating or drinking. If you do not have a mask, security will provide a disposable mask to you. » Please use the sanitizing station just inside the doors to sanitize your hands before proceeding any further. » Loitering in the lobby is discouraged. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM ENTERING THE BUILDING IF YOU'RE EXPERIENCING ANY OF THE FOLLOWING SYMPTOMS OR HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH ANYONE WHO TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID-19 IN THE PAST 15 DAYS: FEVER, COUGH, SHORTNESS OF BREATH OR OTHER RESPIRATORY SYMPTOMS.

Box Office & Parking BOX OFFICE: The box office at RiverCenter, located at the corner of Broadway and Tenth Street, is open Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It opens one hour before each performance and remains open through intermission. The box office is not open on federal holidays unless there is an event that day. FREE PARKING: Parking is available in the parking garage directly in front of RiverCenter, 900 Broad way. Parking for those with disabilities is available in front of our main entrance. The garage is managed by the City of Columbus, not RiverCenter. 50

BACKSTAGE AREAS RESTRICTED: For safety and security and out of respect for performers’ privacy, patrons are not given access to backstage areas before or after performances. HOUSE OPENING AND LATE ARRIVALS: RiverCenter’s Grand Lobby opens one hour prior to events and seating begins approximately 30 minutes before curtain. At the discretion of house management and in compliance with artists’ con tractual agreements, latecomers will be seated at appropri ate intervals during events. Latecomers may be seated near the entry doors out of courtesy to performers and other patrons. PROHIBITED EQUIPMENT: Please be courteous and turn off devices such as cell phones and pagers. Photography and recording is prohibited in the theatres. SMOKE-FREE POLICY: RiverCenter is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is permitted in outdoor areas only. Thank you for your cooperation.

Special Services ELEVATOR: A patron elevator is located between the entrances to Bill Heard Theatre and Studio Theatre. WHEELCHAIRS: Wheelchairs are available for patrons needing help getting to or from seating. Ushers will provide assistance. AUDIO AIDS: Subject to availability, infrared listening devices are available for hearing impaired patrons. They may be obtained free of charge by presenting personal identification to ushers.

In Case of Emergency

LOST AND FOUND: Lost items should be given to an usher for storing with RiverCenter Security. These items are retained by Security for sixty days then donated to Valley Rescue Mission, Inc. Owners may claim lost items by calling 706.256.3610.

FIRE NOTICE: Exits are indicated by red “exit” signs. In case of fire or other emergency, please do not run, but walk to the exit nearest to your seat.

The RiverCenter box office has tickets available for these series and events: TSYS Broadway on Broadway, Center Stage, RiverCenter ArtsReach, ArtsReach Matinees and the Virginia Norman Classic Music Series. Tickets also are available for programs presented by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, CSU Schwob School of Music, and various third-party presenters. The box office accepts cash, and all major credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
