KCC Trips Dear Parents and Students, Following the remarkable success of our previous international trips to Kenya, Cambodia, and Borneo, as well as the positive feedback from our grade-level residential trips, we are thrilled to announce that we will continue offering these enriching experiences in the upcoming academic year. These trips are designed to enhance students' learning outside the classroom, providing them with invaluable real-life experiences. We will once again run grade-level residential trips and offer a variety of international trips that cater to different interests and educational goals. These experiences are a key component of our curriculum, aiming to broaden students' horizons and deepen their understanding of the world around them. For Grade 7 and 8, our service as action trips rotate between Kenya and Tanzania each academic year, providing students with the opportunity to engage in meaningful community service while immersing themselves in different cultures. Similarly, Grade 9 and 10 students alternate between Cambodia and Uganda, although this year we will be traveling to Sri Lanka instead of Uganda due to travel advice. These service as action trips are incredibly beneficial as they foster a sense of global citizenship, encourage personal growth, and develop leadership skills. Students learn the importance of empathy and social responsibility by working directly with local communities to address various challenges. Additionally, we are excited to offer a Grade 11 (DP) trip, where students will be involved in planning the trip as part of their CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) project, further enhancing their organizational and collaborative skills. We also hope to offer a trip to Saudi Arabia specifically for our Islamic students. This journey aims to deepen their understanding of Islamic culture and heritage, offering them a unique opportunity to connect with their faith on a deeper level. We understand the importance of budgeting for these trips, and we wanted to provide you with approximate costs at this time. Please note that these costs are subject to change as we finalize details and secure the best possible arrangements. The official launch of all trips will be in September, which is when students will have the opportunity to sign up. Additionally, we are in the process of seeking ADEK approval for all mentioned trips to ensure compliance and safety. If you have any specific questions or concerns regarding the trips, please do not hesitate to reach out to Ms. Dana at dhinton@ris.ae. She will be more than happy to assist you and address any inquiries you may have. We are excited about the valuable learning experiences these trips will offer our students, and we look forward to working closely with you throughout the academic year to ensure the success and safety of each excursion. Thank you for your continued support. Best regards,
