WELCOME!!
So I decided to make the newsletter a lot shorter this time around because I’m not getting much feedback from the members or from anyone else for that matter. So I’ve added the contest winner from the last issue with the entered art work. Instead of the normal Anime Spotlight I’ve changed it to the Manga Spotlight and gave some summaries of two Manga series, one of which is in the library. Let’s see…what else is new. Oh, yeah there are a lot of new dvds in the library now and more th will be added after April 7 . I also wanted to do something else new so I added song lyrics. I decided to take out the Library updates because no one really cared in the first th place so there you go. There’s a special Anime Expo meeting set for Saturday, April 9 at 7pm. It’s right after the Anime Screening, take a look at the calendar of events. I decided to add pictures of free items this month with the Rin-Taki Anime Club insignia on it. It’s only a temporary image but a good one for sure, provided by Maggie. We do have the other images from the club t-shirts on the same items. CONTEST WINNER FOR ‘GET BACKERS’ So the winner is Anneko. She applied much time and effort to get her fan art in to us and on time. The prizes she will receive are 1 free wallscroll, 1 poster and 1 set of keychains from the Get Backers series. Take a look at her entry (right)
MANGA SPOTLIGHT–“TRAMPS LIKE US” On top of being sexually harrassed by her boss, demoted and dumped by her fiancee for his pregnant mistress, Sumire finds a homeless boy on the street. In an attempt to scare him off, she offers to take him in as a pet and he gladly accepts. They begin to develop an odd sort of relationship as Sumire sets out on her quest to find the perfect man. ■
MANGA SPOTLIGHT–“IMADOKI” Tanpopo Yamazaki is a girl with a dream of attending a high school in Tokyo. Yet when her dream comes true and the famous Meio High accepts her, all isn't what it seems. Students are sorted only by class and friends are nowhere to be found. As the year progresses Tanpopo gains what she's wanted (maybe even more) and one by one, people weave into her life in a way that'll change her life forever. ■ Page 1
