The Swedish national television channel SVT wants to continue creating shared TV traditions and has produced 'Christmas with Astrid Lindgren,' an hour-long program of stories based on Astrid Lindgren's work. Starting from Christmas Eve 2023, the audience will encounter colorful characters and magical worlds. Newly produced animations will be mixed with classic film clips. Now also showing in Norway, Germany, and Poland.

Te Brothers Lionheart is a tale of love strong enough to conquer death – not just once, but twice. Afer brothers Jonathan and Crustpass away they meet again in Nangijala, the land of eternal spring. Casting a long shadow over their world is the evil trant Tengil, ruler of the country Karmanjaka, where he’s building his new fortress up in the Te Ancient Mountains.

Ilon Wikland is perhaps best known for having illustrated most of Astrid Lindgren’s beloved characters. However, she has also writen and illustrated several of her own books.

In the book Te Long, long journey, llon Wikland tells the story of her childhood and the flight from Estonia to Sweden. Te book was writen together with the author Rose Lagercrantz and was published in 1995.
In the book Sammeli, Epp and Me, Wikland wrote the texts herself. Te dog Sammeli is a faithful companion and a dog that Ilon owned in real life, and Sammeli is featured in several of Ilon’s books and stories.
