Woodmere Music Studio celebrated its 26th anniversary with a Senior Recital on May 17 at the Lynbrook Public Library, showcasing the talent and dedication of its featured graduating seniors Claudia Lee and Deniz Artan. The program featured a diverse selection of classical, vocal and musical theater works performed by the studio’s graduating stu-
dents. Among the highlights were Claudia Lee’s performances of “Il Mio Bel Foco” for soprano and piano by Benedetto Marcello, “Romanian Folk Dances” for cello and piano by Béla Bartók, and “The Wizard and I” from the musical Wicked. Deniz Artan impressed audiences with works by Benjamin Godard, Jules
Mouquet and Georges Enesco, demonstrating technical skill and musical artistry. Directed by Patricia Lee, the recital reflected months of preparation and hard work by the performers.
Lee said she was extremely proud of the students’ commitment and accomplishments. Woodmere Music Studio’s next student recitals are scheduled for June 21 and June 29. — Melissa Berman
