Although the annual Cedarhurst-Lawrence Memorial Day parade was cancelled due to the rain, the villages honored their veterans with an indoor ceremony at Village Hall in Cedarhurst, on May 24. More than 30 organizations were expected
to participate, including t h e L a w r e n c e - C e d a rhurst American Legion Post 339, the LawrenceCedarhurst Fire Department and additional local civic groups, veterans organizations and youth participants. The ceremony included
remarks from community leaders, a moment of silence and tributes to fallen service members. The event was designed
to bring together residents of all ages in remembrance and reflection. — Melissa Berman
