Glenwood Landing teacher shines on Wheel of Fortune By BRIAN NORMAN bnorman@liherald.com
Glenwood Landing third-grade teacher Kerri McDonagh reached down to the iconic wheel and gave it a spin as part of the popular game show Wheel of Fortune which aired Nov. 27. McDonagh, who has been teaching in the district for several years, Made a spontaneous decision to go on the show. “I always loved watching the show with my family and one day over spring break I thought I would take a shot and apply,” McDonagh said. “I heard back probably two days later and I didn’t realize how many people really apply and have to
wait a year until they hear anything, so it all happened pretty quickly compared to what I have heard.” McDonagh said the process was very quick and different than she expected. There were multiple interviews that occurred in a short time to see how her personality compared to others and test how she would be as a contestant. “I applied on a whim and at first wasn’t taking it very seriously, when I showed up to the first interview and realized how serious it was, I made sure to start preparing myself better for the following rounds of interviews,” McDonagh said. “They started having us to do practice CONTINUED ON PAGE 5
