Fun Run takes off at Birch Students and staff from Birch School in the Merrick Union Free School District participated in a Fun Run fitness challenge on Oct. 11. Under sunny skies and a gold and black balloon arch, the Birch community waved pom poms and danced to music on the field while running laps in the schoolyard. Funds raised from the event will be used for PTA-funded enrichment programs, assemblies, field trips and more. Above, students and staff from Birch School in the Merrick Union Free School District participated in the challenge. Right, Principal Kerri Galante ran alongside students.
