AARON TOMLINSON Police Medic Supervisor NASSAU COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT Aaron Tomlinson began his healthcare career in 2015 when he volunteered with the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department as a Firefighter/EMT. Recognizing his passion for pre-hospital care, and his desire to provide a higher level of care to his patients, he soon advanced his education and completed Paramedic school. In November 2019, Aaron was appointed as a Police Medic in
the Nassau County Police Department’s Emergency Ambulance Bureau, beginning a career dedicated to providing emergency medical care in Nassau County. During this time, Aaron has directly provided countless interventions to acutely ill and injured patients, including successful resuscitations of cardiac arrest victims to a recent field delivery of a newborn. His dedication to excellent health care has been recognized through several Lifesaving Awards received from the Nassau County Police Department as well as Police Medic of the Year from the Manhasset American Legion. In July 2025, Aaron Tomlinson was promoted to the rank of Police Medic Supervisor, where he provides operational oversight of the EMS system in Nassau on the night tour. While no longer on an ambulance, his supervisory duties allow him to continue serving patients while also mentoring and supporting future generations of Police Medics. He remains committed to providing compassionate, professional, and lifesaving care to those in need.

RICHARD ROBERTSON Police Medic NASSAU COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT Richard Robertson began his career in healthcare in 2018 when he became an Emergency Medical Technician for the New York City Fire Department. In the waning months of the COVID-19 Pandemic, he trained and successfully became a FDNY Paramedic assigned to Brooklyn. Richard was appointed to the Nassau County Police Department as a

Police Medic in April of 2024. Following extensive training in the Emergency Ambulance Bureau’s training academy, Police Medic Robertson took to the roads of Nassau County providing frontline 911 prehospital care. As the largest EMS provider in the County, Nassau Police Emergency Ambulance Bureau manages the highest call volume—responding to approximately 80,000 calls annually, predominantly as the primary ambulance provider within the majority of the county’s 911 ambulance response framework. EAB also consistently provides a high volume of fallback coverage to all EMS, public safety and governmental agencies, reflecting both the scale and critical importance of its mission. During his time with the Police Department, Police Medic Robinson has demonstrated exemplary skills and a commitment to providing excellent emergency medical care to the residents of Nassau County.
LISA BURCH Preisdent & CEO EPIC FAMILY OF HUMAN SERVICE AGENCIES Lisa Burch, MPH, serves as the CEO of the EPIC Family of Human Service Agencies, bringing over three decades of extensive experience in public health, non-profit management, community and government relations, strategic planning, and program development. Her career has been marked by a commitment to enhancing the lives of vulnerable populations. Throughout her career, Lisa has held pivotal roles that have shaped her leadership philosophy. At Family
and Children’s Association (FCA), Lisa served as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In this capacity, she was instrumental in overseeing program operations, facilities, IT, compliance, and quality assurance. Prior to her impactful tenure at FCA, Lisa contributed significantly to Northwell Health, where she established the Office of Sponsored Programs and laid the foundation for the health system’s first Sustainability and Social Responsibility program, underscoring her commitment to ethical practices and community engagement. Lisa’s contributions have been recognized through numerous accolades, including the Long Island Power Women in Business award in 2017, the Premier Businesswomen of Long Island award in 2019, Nassau County Woman of Distinction in 2021, Top Business Leaders 2024, Top 50 Women in Business 2024, Top Chiefs 2024, LI Press Power List 2025, Power Women 2025 and State and City LI Trailblazer Award 2025.. Rosenblut is President and CEO of Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation. He drives the overall executive leadership and strategic direction of this post-acute care organization, one of the largest in the region. Amid New York’s rapidly rising aging population and escalating healthcare costs, Michael is growing Parker’s programs and services to meet the region’s healthcare needs. This includes expanding Parker At Your Door, a Medical-House-Call program for homebound adults. Michael is also President and CEO of QueensLong Island Renal Institute (QLIRI), a state-of-the-art dialysis center at Parker. Further expanding access to essential health-care services, he led Parker’s partnership with PRINE Health, a Vascular Center also located at Parker and offering advanced vascular services. The Center and QLIRI further Parker’s ability to expand access to essential healthcare services. Working with local leaders, he established Parker’s Indian Cultural Unit, delivering specialized care, incorporating the traditions of Indian patients in the community.

Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer Theresa Dillman, DNP, MHA, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, serves as Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for Plainview and Syosset Hospitals at Northwell Health, leading nursing strategy, operations, quality, patient safety, and the patient experience. A transformational nurse executive, she is recognized for advancing nursing excellence, driving innovation, and leading complex organizational change. Beginning her Northwell career as an emergency department nurse and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, Theresa progressed through leadership roles including Assistant Nurse Manager, Hospital Administrator, Director of Perioperative and Cardiac Services, Magnet Program Director, and Chief Nursing Officer. Her leadership contributed to multiple Magnet designations, including Magnet® with Distinction achievements, and she co-led Glen Cove Hospital’s successful Baldrige journey. Theresa holds BSN, MSN, MHA, and DNP degrees and is board certified as a Nurse Executive. She serves as Chair of the Nassau Suffolk Hospital Council and a member of the GE HealthCare Nursing Advisory Board. Shari Leventhal, CDP, CMDCP, serves as the Director of Guest Services at Excel at Woodbury for Rehabilitation and Nursing. As a Certified Dementia Practitioner and Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional, she blends formal training with an instinct for connection built over decades of hands-on experience. Shari firmly believes that every patient deserves genuine engagement and dignity, not just routine practical care. Shari’s route to senior care followed a unique and meaningful path. She spent the first 28 years of her career in early childhood education, focusing primarily on work with special needs, autistic, and neurodiverse children. There, she learned how to read behavior as communication and honed her ability to build trust with individuals who experience the world differently. Transitioning into senior care, Shari spent 13 years as the Director of Therapeutic Recreation at both Oyster Bay Manor Assisted Living and Harbor House Assisted Living for the Memory Impaired. She seamlessly translated her skills to advocate for older adults facing cognitive change. Dementia care quickly became her primary passion, inspiring her to champion a person-first mindset among her colleagues. Shari’s top priority is ensuring her patients feel seen, heard, and deeply cared for: a dedication that brings her immense joy every day.

What/Who inspired you to be on the path you’re on today? I went to an alternative high school. There I had the opportunity to volunteer in an elementary school special education class for three hours a day for three years. From that experience, I knew I wanted to be a teacher.

For more than 16 years, Alison Elise Fenech has had the privilege of working as a social worker, with 13 years dedicated to serving the geriatric population. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Adelphi University in 2010. At the time, she was a single mother attending school full-time, completing her internship, and balancing the responsibilities of raising her daughter. With the love and support of her family, she was able to pursue her education and achieve a goal that has shaped her career and her life. Alison’s passion for social work has always been rooted in helping others. Throughout her career, she has been especially drawn to supporting older adults and their families through some of life’s most challenging moments. Today, through her work in hospice, she has the privilege of helping patients and families navigate end-of-life care with compassion, understanding and dignity. She is particularly passionate about educating families about their options, helping them understand what hospice and end-of-life care can provide, and making sure they feel supported and empowered when making difficult decisions for their loved ones. Alison believes that sometimes the greatest gift we can give someone is simply to be present, listen, provide guidance, and remind them that they are not alone. Social work has never felt like just a career to her, it has been a calling and a privilege. Alison is deeply grateful for the patients, families, colleagues, and communities who have allowed her to be part of their journeys. Receiving this recognition is truly an honor. Alison is humbled to have her work acknowledged and remains committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others through compassion, advocacy, education, and support.
Dr. Harry Jacob is a co-founder of Primary PartnerCare and a tireless advocate for primary care medicine. For more than 50 years, he has dedicated his career to caring for patients while championing the healing power of the doctor-patient relationship as the foundation of exceptional healthcare. A Board-Certified Internist, Harry has spent more than 30 years as a healthcare entrepreneur, consultant, and medical leader. Long before value-based care became a national priority, he recognized its potential to improve outcomes while preserving the personal relationships at the heart of medicine. Throughout his career, he has helped physicians navigate the evolving healthcare landscape while maintaining the independence, integrity, and compassion that define primary care. Stuart B. Almer is President and CEO of Gurwin Healthcare System, a comprehensive nonprofit senior care network on a 36-acre campus in Commack, Long Island. The System includes Fountaingate Gardens Independent Living Community, Gurwin Assisted Living, Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Island Nursing and Rehab Center (Holtsville), and Gurwin's Home Care and Adult Day Care programs. Since joining Gurwin in 2015, Stuart has led transformative growth, including bringing to fruition the Life Plan Community vision with Fountaingate Gardens, and securing nearly $12 million in NY State funding to acquire Island Nursing and Rehab Center, saving a local nonprofit skilled nursing facility. He has spearheaded major grant acquisitions for education and training, championed a secure Memory Care Unit, added studio apartments to Assisted Living, and opened a Social Adult Day Care Program for those with Alzheimer's and dementia. Under his leadership, the Gurwin Center maintains a CMS 5-star overall rating and has earned national recognition from Fortune, US News and World Report, and Newsweek. During COVID-19, he led crisis response efforts and became a trusted resource for policymakers and media. Stuart holds membership and leadership roles in numerous health and education organizations and sits on several boards, including at local universities. He was named 2026 Administrator of the Year by the American College of Health Care Administrators.
Kimon Bekelis is a board-certified, fellowshiptrained neurosurgeon with subspecialty expertise in minimally invasive endovascular neurosurgery, Gamma Knife Radiosurgery, and complex spine and brain operations. After medical school, he completed a post-doctoral research fellowship in neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He finished his residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where he was chief resident, and completed a fellowship in endovascular neurosurgery and neuro-critical care at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Kimon was key in planning and staffing the Stroke and Brain Aneurysm Center of Long Island, which earned Comprehensive Stroke Center certification by The Joint Commission within a year. As the only such facility on the South Shore of Long Island, it has greatly advanced stroke care in the region. Its high patient volume and life-saving services highlight the center's success. Kimon has received several awards, including the Neurologic Science Stroke and Brain Aneurysm Award by the American Stroke/Heart Association, the Contemporary Award by Long Island Elite, and the Innovations in Healthcare Award by Long Island Business News. He has also held leadership roles in national committees and was selected for the AANS Young Neurosurgeons Committee and the AANS/ CNS Washington Committee.
Christina founded Expressive Connections in 2020 to offer creative, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care to children, teens, adults, and couples across New York. Under her guidance, the practice has grown into a multi-location hub for therapy, supervision, and community programming. Known for her engaging, research-backed talks, Christina collaborates with schools, nonprofits, and companies to deliver meaningful conversations about mental health, burnout, resilience, and emotional wellbeing. She has worked with organizations like the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying, Career Day Inc., and Long Island PREP, and consults regularly on corporate wellness programs designed to reduce overwhelm and increase psychological safety at work. Christina also serves on several boards and advisory councils, including the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County and St. John’s University’s Counselor Education Advisory Council. A Long Island native, Christina holds a master’s degree from St. John’s University and remains deeply connected to the community she serves.

Joseph Salamone, a Long Island native from Deer Park, is the Founder and Executive Director of The Long Island Coalition Against Bullying (LICAB), a role he has held since establishing the organization in 2013. A victim of adolescent bullying himself, Joseph is driven by a clear mission — reach as many affected children and families as possible and ensure they feel seen, supported, and empowered. His approach centers on strengthening awareness, expanding access to prevention resources, and responsibly stewarding the community support that fuels LICAB’s work. Under his leadership, LICAB has grown into a leading voice for bullying prevention on Long Island, partnering with school districts, community organizations, and families to build and enhance meaningful antibullying education. His resolve has helped LICAB drive systemic change, including participation in state policy conversations, collaborating on government task forces, and advocating for legislation that protects students. His leadership has earned widespread recognition, including Long Island Business News’ 40 Under 40, Executive Circle Award, and two time Long Island Power List honors. Joseph has also been a prominent advocate for making New York public schools cell-phone free, championing policies centered on student well-being, focus, and mental health. In August 2023, he was appointed by Governor Kathy Hochul to the New York State Temporary Task Force on Cyberbullying.
Nicole Iannarone, President and Founder of Cornerstone Behavioral Services, is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who has worked in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis since 2010. Throughout her career, Nicole has worked with a wide array of learners, successfully treating challenging behaviors, developing language skills, and addressing food selectivity and refusal. In 2019, Nicole was asked to serve on the Legislative Committee for the New York State Association for Behavior Analysis (NYSABA). What/Who inspired you to be on the path you’re on today? My inspiration has come from many people throughout my life — my family, mentors, colleagues, and especially my patients. Medicine appealed to me because it combines science and problem-solving with something much more personal: the opportunity to help someone during a difficult or uncertain time in their life. Rheumatology particularly drew me in because it requires you to listen carefully, think broadly, and often put together pieces of a complicated puzzle. Many of our patients live with chronic illnesses for years, so you are not simply treating a disease — you are developing a relationship and walking alongside that person through different stages of their life. My patients continue to inspire me to learn, improve, and never become complacent in the way I practice medicine.

What has been your greatest achievement in the past year? My greatest achievement has been continuing to grow professionally while using my knowledge of neuropsychology to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. I’m especially proud of expanding my work, sharing my knowledge through teaching and publications, and continuing to bring a modern neuroscience perspective to the understanding of the human brain. What or who inspired you to be on the path you are today? I was inspired by my fascination with the human brain and by the belief that understanding the brain can change the way we understand people. Throughout my career, my patients have also been a tremendous inspiration. Every person I have evaluated has taught me something and reminded me why I chose this path. If you were not in the industry you are in now, where would you be? I think I would still be in a field where I could understand people and communicate ideas. Perhaps I would be a writer, professor, or journalist. I have always loved learning, teaching, and sharing knowledge—and I don't think I could ever stay away from those three things!
Dr. Alexis Tischler DVM, CHPV, CPEV was born and raised in Massapequa and currently lives in and operates her mobile veterinary practice out of Farmingdale. She attended Colorado State University Veterinary School where she was manager of the csu pet hospice program for three years and upon Graduation in 2017, she became one of the first Certified Hospice Veterinarians and as well as one of the first Certified Peaceful Euthanasia Veterinarians in the World. After working for two corporate companies in Colorado, she decided to become small and local as a small women-owned business by bringing privately owned and certified home euthanasia home to Long Island. In May 2019, She founded Comforted Companions Veterinary Care as a solo practitioner and remains the only vet on Long Island dually certified in both hospice and home euthanasia. Jennifer Bushati, CTRS-G, Certified Dementia Practitioner, and certified in Geriatric Aquatics and Chair Yoga, brings 30 years of experience serving older adults to her leadership of the Recreation Department at Plattduetsche Senior Living (PSL). Through therapeutic recreation, Jennifer champions whole-person wellness, helping residents maintain independence, build meaningful relationships, pursue interests, and experience purpose and joy each day. Jennifer’s commitment to serving older adults extends beyond the PSL community. After recognizing a gap in services for seniors living at home, she created PSL’s Adult Day Life Enrichment Program (ADLEP), a social-model program that brings the benefits of therapeutic recreation to older adults who do not live at PSL. ADLEP provides opportunities for friendship, lifelong learning, meaningful engagement, creative expression, wellness, and fun, while also providing valuable respite for families and caregivers. Through her leadership, Jennifer has expanded access to purposeful, enriching experiences for older adults throughout the Long Island community. She earned degrees from Columbia University in New York City, including an undergraduate degree, Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), and Master of Public Health (MPH). Following dental school, she completed a threeyear orthodontic residency, earning a second master’s degree and a certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. What/Who inspired you to be on the path you’re on today? My own piano teacher, Diane, who brought the most out of every person she ever taught, continues to be my inspiration. Kristie Schwarz, M.A., brings two decades of experience and leadership in behavioral health. She currently serves as Senior Director at CN Guidance & Counseling Services, where she oversees Residential Services, a 300+ bed housing program serving individuals living with mental illness. Previously, Kristie served as Program Director for several CN Guidance programs that provided rehabilitative support, including Project FORWARD, a healthy relationships and prevention program; School-Based Behavioral Health Services, a program providing mental health and wellness support to local school districts; Vocational Rehabilitation Services, which assists individuals in achieving employment and vocational goals; and Stability at Home, a crisis intervention program for adults experiencing challenges related to substance use and mental health conditions. What/Who inspired you to be on the path you’re on today? Several people have played an important role in shaping my personal and professional journey. My parents instilled in me the values of hard work, integrity, resilience, and determination, while providing unwavering support and encouragement every step of the way. My boss and mentor, Sherri Kaplan, has been equally influential, demonstrating what it means to be an effective and inspiring leader. Through her guidance, I have learned the importance of developing others, embracing creativity, and continually pushing beyond my comfort zone to grow.

Since 1995, he has served as the Division Chief of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at EHS. In 2021, he was appointed Chairman of the Department of Surgery, initiating a transformative period of growth and clinical advancement. Outside of work, he is committed to civic engagement in his home community. A long-time resident of the Village of Lawrence, he has served for many years on the Lawrence Parks Advisory Committee and was appointed by the Mayor to serve as its active Chairman. Sheldon has been happily married to his wife, Sharon, for 36 years, and is the proud father of their two children, Rebecca and Sam, and their spouses, Seth and Nicole. He enjoys golf, tennis, basketball, skiing, gardening, and painting.
Natasha Elie Louissaint's career has focused on the post-acute sector, where she has developed strategies for growth and sustainability. Natasha's most recent role is Executive Director of St. Johnland Healthcare. She was instrumental in developing strategies to improve efficiency and operational structure, all while upholding the organization's mission and values. These strategies included training licensed practitioners and deploying software to enhance clinical utilization and reimbursement processes. She holds a Doctoral Degree in Healthcare Leadership from University of Alabama at Birmingham focusing on Institutional Theory, B.S. in Health Science - Informatics from SUNY at Stony Brook, a B.S. in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island, and an M.H.A. from Hofstra University. She continued her attainments by earning the Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) credential and becoming a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. Her American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) qualifications include involvement in the New York local chapter’s marketing, and membership committees. LiveOnNY is the federally designated Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) serving the New York Metro region, including New York City, Long Island, and the lower Hudson Valley. With a service area of 13 million people and collaboration with more than 100 hospitals, LiveOnNY works alongside donor families, transplant recipients, and healthcare professionals to give the gift of life through organ, eye, and tissue donation. Over the past three years, LiveOnNY has achieved a nearly 70% increase in organ donation, reflecting the dedication of its team and the generosity of the community. The Department of Child Life and Creative Arts Therapy is an integral part of the hospital's interdisciplinary healthcare team, delivering comprehensive, compassionate care to pediatric patients and their families. Certified Child Life Specialists, trained in child development, psychology, and family systems, help infants, children, and adolescents cope with the stress and uncertainty of acute and chronic illness, injury, trauma, and bereavement. Licensed, board-certified Creative Arts Therapists draw on psychotherapy and art modalities to address cognitive, psychological, emotional, and social needs. Together, both disciplines use evidence-based, developmentally appropriate interventions to support effective coping throughout hospitalization, seven days a week across inpatient units, including Medical, Surgical, Hematology/Oncology, PICU, and NICU, and on weekdays in outpatient areas such as the Emergency Department, clinics, and pre-surgical testing. What has been your greatest achievement(s) within the past year? My greatest achievement this past year has been joining Spring Fertility to launch and establish our new Long Island location. Long Island has been home to my family for many years, so it has been especially meaningful to bring Spring’s high-touch, evidencebased approach to fertility care to the community I know and love. I’m proud to help lead a team focused on providing exceptional, individualized care and supporting patients as they pursue their familybuilding and fertility preservation goals.

What/Who inspired you to be on the path you’re on today? My family is the foundation of everything I’ve accomplished. As an immigrant, I grew up watching my parents work incredibly hard to build a better life and give my brother and me opportunities they didn’t have. They taught me resilience, determination, and the importance of never giving up on a dream. Those lessons stayed with me as I pursued pediatric dentistry and eventually built First Smiles. My husband and family supported me through some of the hardest moments and always reminded me why I started. Now, the trust and appreciation I receive from our patients and families inspire me to keep pushing forward to continue learning, evolving, and finding new ways to provide the very best care for our children.
