Dear Readers

On September 9th, over 300 women will gather at the Crescent Beach Club in Bayville for the third-annual HERALD Women's Executive Summit produced by RichnerLIVE. We are looking forward to a day filled with inspiring speakers, engaging workshops, and much more!

For over 60 years, Richner Communications—publisher of the Long Island Herald—has been dedicated to fostering community and championing women’s initiatives through our reporting and storytelling. Our founders, my mother and father, laid the foundation for our current leadership team, which proudly includes over 60% women. The Herald is honored to continue serving as a platform for diverse voices and powerful stories.

This year's WE Summit's theme is "Next Level You" and promises to be a remarkable event. Thank you to our keynote speaker, Jennifer Watson, executive performance strategist & wellness expert, for guiding us through the day. We are also honored to donate a portion of the event's proceeds to the Holistic Services Program at Cohen Children’s Medical Center. This not-forprofit organization’s mission is to enhance the well-being of children, families, and caregivers through holistic, integrative care. For more information email Phyllis Quinlan at pquinlan@northwell.edu

Inside this special WE Summit section, you will discover a remarkable lineup of women leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and trailblazers who are shaping the future of women in the workplace. I look forward to welcoming you on September 9th at the Crescent Beach Club for a day of inspiration, learning, networking, and celebrating the Next Level You. Warm regards,

Stuart Richner

Dear Readers,

This special section marks the third annual HERALD Women's Executive (WE) Summit, proudly produced by RichnerLIVE, and underscores our commitment to “reframe” the future of women in the workforce.

While we’ve seen more female Fortune 500 CEOs than ever and two-thirds of American women serving as primary or co-breadwinners, women remain underrepresented in leadership, and full equality is still a work in progress. The WE Summit unites top female executives, thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and barrier-breakers to engage in meaningful conversations around this year’s theme: "Next Level You."

We are also proud to introduce the Women’s Executive Network of Long Island, a premier platform connecting senior female executives and entreprenuers through content-driven events, mentorship programs, and professional development opportunities—empowering women, fostering leadership excellence, and driving innovation and business growth across the region.

This year's summit is both a celebration of progress and a call to action. On the pages ahead, you’ll meet inspiring leaders shaping the future of work and learn from organizations committed to health, leadership, and empowerment.

Join us on September 9th at the Crescent Beach Club to explore topics ranging from leadership and technology to finance, mental health, and self-care.

Sincerely,

Amy Amato

Q&A

As a woman in your industry, what challenges have you faced, and how have you overcome them?

Women only represent 10% of the workforce and it can be difficult being in a room where I am one of few, if not the only woman. However, while there are barriers, I believe the key to overcoming them is to put yourself out there and network, network, network. If you build real connections and make friends, you’ll grow both personally and professionally at the same time.

ABOUT THIS PANEL

AUTOMATIC INDUSTRIES INC.

Denise Savino Erichsen is the President of Automatic Industries, a family-owned company specializing in the ownership and operation of central laundry rooms in apartment buildings, coops, condos, colleges, marinas, guest laundries, and campgrounds. What may seem like a simple, niche business is, in fact, a dynamic industry filled with the same complex challenges many business owners face — especially in New York.

Denise began working part-time in her family’s business while attending NYIT, where she graduated in 1990. Though she didn’t consider herself an A+ student, she discovered her passion early — and with it, her strength. For her, work is truly a labor of love.

In addition to her hands-on leadership at Automatic Industries, Denise serves as the President of the Multi Laundry Association (MLA), a national organization advocating and lobbying on behalf of the laundry industry.

Denise has been married to her college sweetheart, Eric, for 33 years. Their son, Cooper, is an accountant. While he isn't involved in the family business, he provides valuable professional insight into his mother’s business endeavors. Their daughter, Ashley, a graduate of Fairfield University, works alongside Denise and is being groomed to lead the business into its third generation. Her corporate flavor brings a fresh and welcome perspective to the growing team.

This panel explores how to confidently advocate for your value, and make strategic decisions that build long-term wealth. You’ll leave with actionable tools to strengthen both your bottom line and your influence.

HEARTS COUNSELING

Anne Petraro is the Founder and CEO of Mending Hearts Counseling, a trauma-informed practice rooted in access, dignity, and human connection. With over 27 years of experience in mental health, education, and the fine arts, she brings creativity and depth to her work with clients from all walks of life— including justice-involved individuals, those living with severe mental illness, and everyday people navigating life’s complexities.

Q&A

What inspired you to start Mending Hearts Counseling?

I spent years working across different settings— private practice, group practices, community clinics—and saw the same thing again and again: people falling through the cracks. Insurance barriers, stigma, and systems that didn’t meet people where they were. I created Mending Hearts to be a different kind of space—one built on honesty, access, and true human connection.

What does leadership mean to you?

Leadership means holding space—not just for ideas and progress, but for people’s full humanity. It’s about staying grounded in your values and creating room for others to grow, question, and lead in their own right.

ABOUT OUR COFFEE SPONSOR

Elegant King Brew™ wasn’t created to compete on shelves—it was built to command presence.

As a lifelong coffee enthusiast with a passion for executive style, timeless fashion, and strategic branding, I recognized a gap: coffee brands were everywhere, but few embodied elegance, prestige, and purpose. I didn’t just want a good cup—I wanted a brand that reflected how I live, move, and think. So I built one.

Elegant King Brew was founded for those who value sophistication, strategy, and legacy. We serve more than coffee—we serve moments

of power. From hand-selected blends to curated experiences, our brand is for professionals, partners, and institutions that understand the value of elevated taste and intentional presence.

What started as a refined coffee concept has transformed into a full-scale movement—driven by:

• Strategic sponsorships

• Executive gifting

• Venue activations

• Corporate partnerships

• Brand positioning systems

This is more than a product. It’s a philosophy. A presence. A legacy in motion.
