Golden Hour

This season, Platinum’s Golden Hour collection celebrates a soft-focus romanticism. A wild garden on a languid summer afternoon. Dappled sunlight, a prelude to dusk. Nostalgic beauty unfolding and then slipping into memory. We all need a pair of rose-colored glasses these days, and maybe that’s why interiors are taking such a strong turn toward warm tones as well as the warmth of traditional details.

As ever, the designs here are rooted in nature, textile history, and refined textural detail. Color is bathed in tones of butter, celery, squash, and madder. New prints are a celebration of timeless patterns including an Aubusson floral, scenic landscape, and lush warmweather botanicals.

There is a romantic prettiness here, but also a timeless quality, which is equally “golden” even in neutrals.

As so many of today’s interior designers look to history for inspiration, Golden Hour meets the moment with a thoughtful and approachable assortment full of possibility, mined from the past and right for today.

Fruit Crush

From Renaissance Velvets to William Morris prints, pomegranates are a perennial motif in the history of ornament. Often used by artisans as a symbol of life and abundance, our pattern Orselli features a lush composition of hand-painted blossoms, buds and leaves. Printed on a linen blend, Orselli is available in three distinct colorways: Eden, Sunbaked, and Twilight.

Petal Pusher

Modern petal pinks are the perfect accent for this season’s soft golden yellows and olive tones. Garcelle, pictured here, showcases the new palette in a modern botanical abstract print. Printed on a linen blend and available in two colorways: Afternoon and Denim.

GARCELLE Afternoon

Green Room

From lush peonies and ferns to serrated leaves and hothouse flowers, our patterns this season are decidedly garden-forward. No surprise then, that greens can be found throughout the collection. Accented with blue and veering toward evergreen and olive, our Planted color story took inspiration from classic historic textiles. Who wouldn’t want to daydream the day away under a canopy of leaves? We thought so.

Sunshine State

In keeping with this season’s trend toward a warmer palette, Platinum turned to tropical climates for inspiration for two new watercolor botanical prints. Lagonda features a splashy spotted orchid in two saturated colorways: Everglade and Laguna. Legrande (featured on pp. 8-9) is an expressive rendition of birds of paradise in two radiant colorways: Dusk and Bloom.

Fjord Foundation

When the Platinum team pulled together colors for this collection, we fell in love with an icy lavender that went with everything. We chose to call the new palette “Fjord” (pronounced Fee-yord). “Fjord” is the name for a glacial inlet and is common to Scandinavia, where this color is popular for its ability to reflect light in dark winter months. Fjord also features barely-there soft greens, creamy neutrals, and copper in an homage to this natural environment of bracing beauty. Hard to pronounce but easy to love.

Detail Oriented

The wovens selected for this season were designed with an eye for understated luxury. Our richly stitched embroideries feature modern silhouettes— ovals, hexagons and rectangles—on a variety of natural blend grounds. Artisanal detail, like metallic thread and cotton cording, stand out when layered with our statement prints.

At Ease

This season, we’ve gathered up two new cozy textures to put into the mix. Dacus is a superfine chenille woven on a cotton-blend warp. Nikola features a raised diamond dobby pattern reminiscent of a cable knit sweater and featuring a dry matte finish. Both are offered in a new vocabulary of color including warm ginger, modern ochre, and horizon blue. Time to layer up.

Timely Classics

With interiors trending to traditional, we revisited a palette of classic reds, golds and greens while keeping things decidedly fresh. Trossard, featured here on the lampshade and available in four colorways, was interpreted from a vintage painting created for a 19th century tapestry design. The addition of soft black and amber tones in the palette keeps things handsome without becoming overly formal.

Documentary Details

Historic textile influences provide a comforting depth to modern interiors. Our new print Kiyana, pictured here on the headboard, is derived from a vintage silk ikat and is available in three saturated colorways: Denim, Currant and Mineral. Printed on a classic blend of cotton and linen and suitable for endless applications.

Pop Star

Part modern art and part classic ikat, Adomian is a showstopper. Printed on our classic plush linen-blend ground and available in four sophisticated colors: Oasis, Denim, Kaleidoscope and Afternoon.
