OBITUARIES
Susan ‘Sissi’ Tanner, 64, of Cazenovia, died Sunday, September 19, 2021, at the Richland Hospital. She was born on September 23, 1956, in West Memphis, Arkansas the daughter of John ‘Jack’ and Joanne (Neill) Doudna. Sissi married Vaun Tanner on February 14, 1990, in Richland Center. She worked as a bartender and waitress before going to work at the Village Pump in 1986. She owned and operated the Village Pump from 1990-99 and stayed to manage the bar after she sold it. Sissi enjoyed going fishing with Vaun. Sissi is survived by her husband Vaun Tanner; brother Bill (Kelly) Doudna of Lone Rock; sister Jan Doudna of Richland Center; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Sissi was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Joanne, brothers Mickey and Wayne. Visitation was held at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Friday, September 24, 2021, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life to follow at the Village Pump. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service assisted the family with their arrangements.
Lowell (Steve) E. Stevenson Lowell (Steve) E. Stevenson, 81, of Richland Center, passed away from his family’s loving arms to our Lord’s on September 20, 2021. He was born on November 9, 1939, in West Branch Michigan. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps on July 1, 1959 and served until May 6, 1966. He was also the “Poster Board Marine” for the state of Illinois. After his service in the Marines, he started his business (Artlow Systems, Carol Stream, IL). He was the Founder and President until his retirement in 2008. On December 29, 1972, Steve married his beloved wife, Carol. They had many great adventures together throughout their 49 years of marriage. Steve enjoyed many passions some of which included building and managing the Town of Stevenson Museum with his wife Carol, woodturning and using his heavy equipment to always keep improving their property. He took a lot of pride in everything he did. Steve was predeceased by his parents, Warren Stevenson & Ada Link (Garret), son, Randall Stevenson and daughter, Michelle Lynn Stevenson. He is survived by his loving wife Carol (Lacoste) Stevenson, son Daniel (Tara) Krueger of Richland Center, 2 grandchildren, Michelle (Dustin) Wilson of Kennewick, Washington, Kimberly (Carlos) Badillo of Wenatchee, Washington and many other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Agrace Hospice care and Dr. Bryan Myers for all the love and care they provided to Steve. Funeral service was held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 4:00 PM at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center. Visitation was Saturday, September 25, 2021 until the time of services at 4:00 PM. Marcella A. Perry, age 71, of Richland Center passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. She was born on April 17, 1950, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Daniel Y. and Mary L. (Malone) Parker. Marcella worked at Pine Valley Manor in Richland Center as a C.N.A. for several years. She enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre and getting together with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Robert & William Parker; 3 sisters, Betty Parker, Theresa Adams, and Agnes Gnade. A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to the family. William LeRoy Hinkle, 71, died peacefully on Saturday, September 25, 2021, surrounded by his family at the William S. Middleton Veteran’s Memorial Hospital in Madison. William “Bill” was born on December 17, 1949, in Richland County, the son of Gifford and Zola (Standish) Hinkle. Bill graduated from Riverdale High School in 1968. He married his high school sweetheart Diane Hying on April 19, 1969, in Muscoda. Bill proudly served in the US Army from 1969-1971. After returning from service, Bill was an active member of the local American Legion Post 85. Soon after returning from military service, Bill began his career with GTE/Verizon as a lineman and later transitioned into cable splicing. Bill had an excellent work ethic; however, he was forced into early retirement due to his multiple sclerosis diagnosis. Bill dedicated over 25 years to coaching and supporting baseball in the Muscoda area, which included Little League, American Legion, Babe Ruth, and Home Talent leagues. Bill was a tremendous advocate for local youth baseball by ensuring that they received the support they needed. This continued later in life when he advocated for continued support for softball as well. Bill was an avid outdoorsman, which included hunting, fishing, camping, and searching for morels. Bill treasured deer camp with his family. He enjoyed many other activities on his land where he eventually built his dream log cabin. Bill enjoyed playing euchre, watching a good Western movie and watching the Brewers, Packers and Badgers. Bill loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Diane; their children: Daniel (Kimberly) Hinkle, Scot (Angela) Hinkle, William (Jamie) Hinkle, Kurt Hinkle, Christopher (Haylee) Hinkle, Craig (Sarah) Hinkle; one brother: Robert (Claudia) Hinkle; three sisters: Diane Manning, Ruthann Karabetsos, Coni Hinkle; 11 grandchildren: Catie, Abby, Ellie, Hannah, Tessa, Leah, Bryan, Zola, Colton, Hudson, Noah; and other relatives. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Gifford and Zola; and brother Richard Hinkle. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 11:00 AM St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Military rites will follow the mass. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at St. John’s Gym from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 4:45 PM. Visitation will also be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, at St. John’s Gym from 10:00 AM until the departure to the church at 10:45 AM. The Hinkle Family requests everyone who attends please wear a mask. To help find an end to MS, the family suggests a donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in memory of Bill. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
Gloria Maxwell Gloria (Loria) Maxwell age 95 of Boaz passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Pine Valley Community Village. She was born on April 28, 1926 in Albuquerque, New Mexico the daughter of Selso and Monica (Garcia) Duran. Gloria was married on April 26, 1975 to Vernon Maxwell. She worked many years at O’Brien Brothers. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and on many of her quilting projects. Survivors include 2 children, Sam (Jean) Lopez of Phoenix, Arizona, Mary (Frank) Decot of Richland Center, 5 grandchildren, Carmen Decot of Waukesha, WI, Monica Decot (Shawn) Cinnamon of Brookfield, WI, Cipirano Lopez Jr. of San Diego CA, Vincent Lopez of Sandpoint, ID, Eliza Lopez of Nampa, ID,, daughter in-law Irma Lopez, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Selso and Monica Duran, her husbands, Thomas Lopez, Lyle Berry, Vernon Maxwell, a son, Cipirano Lopez Sr. (Died September 19, 2021), 4 brothers, Frutoso, Larry, Paul, Carlos. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary the Assumption Catholic Church with Fr. Nathan Thainase officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 4:00PM to 6:00 PM at the Stafford Funeral Home in Richland Center.
