OBITUARIES

KAROLINE L. NEE

July 18, 2020 Karoline L. Nee, age 66, of Richland Center, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in La Crosse. She was born on December 24, 1953, in Richland Center, WI, the daughter of John Anthony Sr. and Florence Neomi (Brandt) Nee. In 2003, Karoline moved to Ft. Wayne, IN. There she was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Concordia Deaconess Conference and was proud of serving in that capacity. Karoline was employed as a tax preparer for H & R Block, Liberty Tax, and Jackson Hewitt over the years. After moving back to Richland Center, she was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church.Karoline had a lifelong love of learning and reading, and she enjoyed helping others. She showed

this in many ways throughout her life. She was always ready to help family members with homework or typing; she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science from the University of WisconsinPlatteville; she served as a Sunday School teacher and Deaconess in the LCMS; and even in her tax preparation work, helping others navigate the tax system was a part of the job she found very satisfying. For fun, Karoline enjoyed reading westerns and science fiction books, playing cards, gardening and working on crossword puzzles and word finds. She is survived by her daughter, Katharine C. Nee of Minneapolis, MN; brothers and sisters: John A. Jr. (Amy) Nee, Linda N. Nee, Peter A. Nee, all of Madison, and Faith E. Nee of Richland Center; nephew, Jack Nee of Madison; niece, Elizabeth Nee Flynn ( Chris ) of Minneapolis, MN; special niece, Cyndara Foust of Richland Center; aunts and uncles: Lucille (John) Roediger of Howards Grove, Joanne Brandt of Reedsburg, Beverly Nee of Richland Center, and Jeri Kennah of WY. She was preceded in death by her parents; stillborn son, Alan; sisters: Ruth L. and Paula A. Nee; and uncle, Rudy Brandt. Funeral services for Karoline Nee were conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 27, 2020, at Farber

Funeral Home, Reedsburg, with Pastor Tim Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, rural Hillpoint. Visitation was held on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg. The family requested that masks be worn at the visitation and the funeral. A limited quantity were available for both. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. July 18, 2020 Lauri Schultz 66 of rural Cazenovia/Hub City died Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Agrace Hospice care in Fitchburg. She was born March 16, 1954 in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Duane & Mary Ohl. She was the Mule Girl and milked goats with her husband Robert for 26 years. Survived by her husband

July 19, 2020 Lynn C. Haines, 68, of Richland Center died Sunday, July 19, 2020 at his home. He was born on December 25, 1951 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the son of Hal and Mary (Sweet) Haines. Lynn graduated from Solon High School. On August 28, 1971 he was united in marriage to Teri Miltner. Lynn loved and enjoyed his times with family most. The last 8 years of his life were spent confined to a wheelchair due to a tractor accident. The visits and laughs with his children and grandchildren, dear friends and neighbors meant so much to him and Teri and brought them both lots of joy. He had a creative bent and quick wit with an

eye for beauty, a mind for innovation and always had a quick one-liner or funny saying that warmed your heart. He had a love of farming and the outdoors. He dairy farmed most of his life and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Lynn is survived by his wife Teri;five children: Lisa (Scott) Lind,Mike (Heather) Haines, Mark (Trisha) Haines,Charlie Haines,Elizabeth (Roger) Pinkham; 13 grandchildren; sister Jan Haines. Private family services will be held with a burial to be held in the Rockbridge Cemetery. July 17, 2020 Thomas L. Shannon, age 90 of Muscoda, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg. He was born June 1, 1930 in Richland County

the son of Donald and Mertie Shannon. He was married on May 24, 1952 to Mary A. Muldowney. Thomas did plastering, farming, and also sold insurance. He enjoyed the insurance business, the trucks going in and out of the quarry, his birds, family, and traveling with his wife Mary. Survivors include 2 daughters, Cherie Shannon Werla of Loganville, WI, Mary Carol (Richard) Bindl of Spring Green, WI; 4 grandchildren, Brandon Werla of LaValle, WI, Kyle (Amanda) Werla of Loganville, WI, Kevin (Julia) Bindl of Richland Center, WI, Karen (Tyler) Dumke of Marshall, WI; 9 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and his brother James Shannon. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Plain Fire and EMS or Agrace Hospice of Fitchburg. A private family viewing was held at the Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home with Christian burial following in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
