Carol Kraska
Carol Kraska, 94, of Richland Center died Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Pine Valley Community Village. She was born on January 29, 1927 in Gillingham the daughter of Raymond and Vera (Peckham) Peaslee. Carol graduated from Richland Center High School. On February 10, 1948 she was united in marriage to Martin ‘Pat’ Kraska at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Carol worked at O’Bryan Brothers until Pat died in 1974, she later worked at St Mary’s School in the kitchen and the Shopping News. She was a lifelong member of the VFW Auxiliary 2267. Carol enjoyed playing Bingo and taking trips with Marcia especially to Las Vegas and Nevada. Carol is survived by four children: Pat (Patty) Kraska of Richland Center, Martin ‘Mick’ Kraska of Richland Center, John (Marie) Kraska of Gillingham, Marcia Mueller of Richland Center, Six grandchildren: Chris (Rob) Bee of Richland Center, Chad Kraska of Richland Center, Theresa (Luke) Voigt of Wonewoc, Caroline Kraska of Richland Center, Casey Mueller of Richland Center, Jeremy Mueller of Richland Center; Four great-grandchildren; One great-great-grandchild; Sister-in-law: Creola Peaslee of Lake Geneva; Other relatives and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pat, daughter Rita Kraska, granddaughter Miranda Mueller, son-in-law Randy Mueller, special friend Keith Campbell, and brothers and sister Warren (Arlene) Peaslee, Helen (Elmo) Merry, and Gordon Peaslee. Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at 6:00 PM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel. Burial will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Visitation was held on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel from 4:00 PM until the time of the service at 6:00 PM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.

Arnold J. Wallace, age 82 years, of rural Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. He was born on August 18, 1938 to Leo and Alvaretta (Borland) Wallace in Richland Center, grew up on the family farm on Pine Avenue, near Yuba and graduated from the West Lima High School in 1956. Arnold was united in marriage to Janet Rott on June 11, 1960 in Hillsboro. Arnold went to work at the Yuba Feed Mill, then became a fuel truck driver at the Hillsboro Farmers Coop and later at the Union Center Coop. He went to Rockford to work at Woodward Governor for 5 years, but continued to live in Union Center. Then he turned around and went to Kickapoo Oil in Hillsboro as a trucker until 1974. At this point he made a change and started farming in the Yuba area. Farming wasn’t enough, so he went back to trucking for Skinner Transfer. He turned around, broke his ankle, then started working for Kwik Trip. Arnold started driving truck of some sort at the age of 20 and after 50 years of driving semi, he retired. Again, he turned around and started trucking and hauling a trailer for the Amish, Mitchell Farms and many community members. Arnold, also known to many as Arnie or Ziffle, was a caring and giving person, talking was one of his best qualities. Arnold was a husband, father, co-worker, friend and father figure to many. Survivors include his wife, Janet; children, Linda (Roger) Loether, Teena Wallace, Mark Wallace (Tim Rosin) and Denise (Dave) Huntley; grandchildren, Kaddie (Trent) Snyder, Brooke (Nate) Mueller, Luke (Kassondra) Gillingham, Damon (Erika) Gillingham, Brandon Gillingham, Brogan Gillingham, Allison (John) Ambrose, Dustin Wallace, Tyler Wallace, Morgan Huntley, Cameron Huntley, Mitch Huntley and Kirk Huntley; sixteen Great Grandchildren and brothers, Verlin (Linda) Wallace, Myron (Cheryl) Wallace, Doyle (Susan) Wallace and Sherry (Carol) Wallace. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Alvaretta Wallace; in-laws, Eman and Lucy Rott; granddaughter-in-law, Stephanie Munson and other relatives and friends. Funeral Service was held on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with Pastor Janis Starr officiating. Visitation was on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm. Charity Leigh Larsen
Charity Leigh Larsen, 46, of Lone Rock, passed away peacefully at the UW Hospital in Madison after a brave fight with cancer. She was born on September 29, 1974 in Fort Atkinson, the daughter of Kerry & Mary (Zeeh) Larsen of Lone Rock. Charity graduated from River Valley High School in 1992. She joined the US Navy and was stationed at Great Lakes, IL & San Francisco, CA. In 1979, she was chosen Little Miss Richland County - a story the family still likes to share. In 2018, Charity was her father’s guardian on his Badger Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Charity enjoyed watching old western movies, paranormal shows, family cook-outs, dining out with her daughters and spending time with her granddaughters. Charity leaves behind five daughters - Destinie, Alexxus, Trynnity, Serenity & Montana and two grand daughters, Nora & Romie, and her beloved cat, Sadie. She is also survived by her parents, Kerry & Mary Larsen and sisters, Hope (Tracy) Hom, Faith (Austin) Roberts & Honour Larsen, and many nieces and nephews. Charity is also survived by her former husband, Mike Meadows. Charity was preceeded in death by her husband, Bennie Joles, paternal grandparents & maternal grandparents - Joyce & Ed Prahl and Cecelia & William Zeeh. A visitation was held Sunday, July 18, 2021 at the Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home in Spring Green from 10:00 A.M.-1:00 PM. A veteran’s salute followed at 2:30PM at the Lone Rock Veteran’s Park. SOCIAL WORKER POSITION AVAILABLE
The successful candidate will have a Class A CDL driver’s license, a commitment to safety, appropriate skills and education, and a willingness to advance the culture and programs of REC and its members. Successful candidate must be able to report to headquarters from their residence within 30 minutes.
A degree in social work or related field required, with 1-2 years of experience in Long-Term Care preferred, but not required.
