Oregon native Amlong leads district 4K program SCOTT DE LARUELLE

An Oregon High School graduate herself, Jackie Amlong is now helping the district’s youngest learners begin their path to that same goal. Amlong, an educator in the Ore- Amlong gon School District since 2006, was named 4K principal this summer, succeeding long-time 4K leader Mary Weber, who retired in June. She told the Observer last week she knew “from an early age” she wanted to work with children in some capacity, and is proud to get the opportunity to lead the 4K program in her hometown. “I love to build caring and safe relationships with kiddos and making connections,” Amlong said.
