Grant County Department of Social Services will begin setting up application appointments for the Wisconsin’s Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP) on or after September 15, 2021. Appointments can be scheduled by calling Grant County Department of Social Services at 608-723-2136 x1125. Most applications will be conducted by phone. We will not be mailing out any paper applications other than the early short form applications for fixed income applicants that are already being mailed to qualifying households. Solution - Specialized Accessories & Techniques have been developed to create what is called Soft Washing or Soft Wash. This involves the use of a variety of cleaning solutions to lift and remove the contaminants from siding, roofing and paving materials. The process consists of applying a cleaning solution & then rinsing away the unwanted material while using only LOW PRESSURE. The low pressure is similar to that of a garden hose. Soft washing is safe for use on dryvit, EIFS, stucco, vinyl, aluminum, wood and just about every other siding material. Trex and other synthetic or semi-synthetic decking materials clean up incredibly well with our process. Black streaks or black roof stains don’t stand a chance against a good soft wash.

After much soul-searching and discussion, the 24th annual Platteville Historic Re-enactment, scheduled for September 10-12 at Platteville’s Mound View Park, has been postponed because of the steadily rising numbers of COVID-19 cases in the area. It was not an easy decision, especially because of the number of schools that had already registered to attend. “Our committee and re-enacting family really tried to make it possi-

We did not want to be the reason someone fell ill, or worse. We were all in agreement that postponing the event was the responsible thing to do” stated committee chair Stephanie Saager-Bourret. “Many of our re-enactors look forward to this event because of the quality of the venue and the quality of the students that attend on School Day. This is a busy, hands-on job that is key to ensuring the Telegraph Herald newspaper gets out to our subscribers. Main responsibilities are to • strap, label and bag newspapers; • stack papers on skids; and • load bundles on conveyors and trucks. Occasional assistance will be needed to deliver “down” delivery routes. Hours range from a start time around 11:30 pm to around 4:00 am throughout the seven-day workweek. Basic requirements are possession of a valid driver’s license and a good driving record, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., a willingness to be flexible for unplanned events, and basic reading and math skills. The TH offers job stability and a competitive wage and benefit package.
Candidates will have good customer service skills, be dependable and be able to lift up to 30 lb. bundles. A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required (no CDL required).
