Tri-County Recreational Trails offers a multi-use trail system covering Lafayette, Green and Iowa counties.
These trails are open to ATVs, dirt bikes, motorcycles, snowmobiles, horses, cross-country skiers, bicycles and hikers. Included in this system are the Cheese Country Trail and the Pecatonica State Trail.
Cheese Country Trail runs parallel to the Pecatonica River and is the former rail bed of the Milwaukee Road Railroad. It extends 47 miles from Monroe to Mineral Point with beautiful scenery including wildlife, rivers and ponds. Pecatonica State Trail runs from Calamine to Belmont offering scenery as the trail crosses creeks and streams during its 10-mile stretch. The trail connects to the Cheese Country Trail in Calamine. Lafayette County Trails links to more trails and are open year round depending on weather conditions. Grant Country Trails Remember that only those County Roads designated with signs as ATV/UTV routes are legal to travel on in Grant County.

2019 Iowa County Dairy Ambassador!
Concerts are held every Wednesday in June, July and August (except July 17 and 24) at 7 p.m. in the Queen of the Rosary Chapel, Sinsinawa. These concerts are free and open to the public. Wednesday, June 5 features Peter Szeibel at 7:00 p.m. Szeibel began Tamra Ihm is the 16 year old daughter of Kevin and Michelle Ihm. playing organ for church services at age 12 in New York City, where he studied piano She is a sophomore at Barneveld High School where she is involved in and organ at the precollege division of the Juilliard School. Szeibel has given recitals SkillsUSA, National Honor Society, mathletes, forensics, drama and in New York, the Midwest, and Hungary. He studied organ with Jon Gillock, who is dance. Along with school activities she is also involved in 4-H dairy one of today’s leading interpreters of the organ music of Olivier Messiaen. Szeibel bowl, and dairy judging, and is currently serving as the president of also plays the harpsichord and enjoys the wide variety of classical repertoire these two instruments offer, spanning over 400 years of music. Response to the decision to replace the 80-year old art hall at Legion Park has been incredibly positive. To date, over $600,000 has been contributed by some 150 donors. These funds will cover the estimated cost of the base building, which is designed for year-round use and has a capacity exceeding 300. Fundraising continues to secure an additional $200,000 + to fund amenities within the building such as a room divider, epoxy floors, banquet tables and chairs, security system, sound system, hearing loop, etc. and outside amenities like picnic tables, a partial brick facade, an entrance kiosk and landscaping. Plans and costs being finalized now by Delta 3 and Eastman Cartwright’s team of contractors will provide us firm costs within a few weeks. Groundbreaking and construction, by our local contractors, is expected immediately after Dairy Days. Just as important to our community as this event center building is its potentail positive impact on the community. Businesses, organizations and families in our community have come together as community collaborators, contributing $25,000+ to this initiative. These include Wisconsin Bank & Trust, Mound City Bank, Dupaco, Clare Bank, Woodward Foundation – Woodward Printing Service/The Shopping News, Southwest Health, Delta 3, Eastman Cartwright, Reeves Family & Friends, Bob and Barry Brodbeck, Inspiring Community, the City of Platteville and anonymous donors to be named later. Many of these businesses/organizations/families have made exceptions to their normal ‘contribution policies’ and contributed 5 to 10 times what they have done for other projects. Why? Because they know that people who come to Platteville for weddings, reunions, conferences and other events will get to know Platteville – our amenities, hotels, restaurants and people. The word of mouth marketing for Platteville, by these folks, will bring more benefit than advertising ever could. It will help our community grow, attracting wonderful talent to our workforce such as new doctors, nurses, teachers, entrepreneurs, and students and more Platteville residents.
