ROSEMEYER-JONES CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTING TO MEET YOUR NEEDS. "A few years ago I had fallen in my garage, which in hindsight was the beginning of all of my lower back related and leg problems. That trouble (back pain, shooting pain and tingling in the leg) continued to bother me for years after the fall and finally brought me in to Rosemeyer Jones Chiropractic. Since the injury happened, I was not able to stand or walk for any length of time without needing to sit down and rest because of the pain in back and leg, and it seemed like every day was getting worse. I had visited many other chiropractors over my lifetime (and since the fall), but this clinic was different. For the first time, they took x-rays of my lower back and hips to determine a possible cause of the pain I was experiencing. There was finally something tangible that I could see and I had a glimmer of hope that they might have a way to get me better. The doctors and the staff at Rosemeyer Jones Chiropractic were compassionate, understanding, and caring. It seems that my pain was stemming from a disc bulge that was causing most of my symptoms. Through treatments using the decompression table I am feeling fantastic. Within weeks I noticed a huge difference, and I now feel better than I have in many years. I am a senior citizen, and I thought that that I was doomed to spend my life doing little and going nowhere. This is absolutely not the case. Going to Rosemeyer Jones has given me new life. I can now stand, walk and shop without pain. I now have more energy and my ambition for living life is the highest it has been for a while. The department operations shall refrain from winging back and clearing shoulders during after-normal-hours timeframes. Winging and pushing back of snow from shoulders for future events shall occur during the normal hours of work schedule of the department. The department shall maintain a ‘White Shoulder” policy for the gravel shoulder portions of its’ highways, whereas operators shall carry the toe and heel of their wing plows during freeze-thaw cycles and after-normal-hours timeframes. The Department recognizes some properties belonging to private landowners exist within the county right of way; in particular mailboxes and fences. The department shall be responsible for mailboxes which are hit by equipment and machinery in accordance with the Highway Department Mailbox Damage policy. The Department shall only be responsible for the damage to fences which are outside of the county trunk highway right of way; in accordance with the Fence Damage and Replacement Policy. All policies are available from the Highway Department offices or the Highway webpage of the county website at www.iowacounty.org . The intent of establishing the Iowa County Highway Department’s Snow and Ice Control Policy is to provide a uniform understanding of the priorities and procedures used to combat snow and ice related to road conditions. The Iowa County Highway Department attempts to maintain adequate traction for vehicles properly equipped for winter driving conditions. This does not mean bare, dry pavement should be expected during or immediately after each snowfall. Furthermore, this does not mean the roads will be totally free of ice and/or snow at all times.

With regards to the department’s policy on snow and ice removal operations for State Trunk Highway Maintenance, the State Highway Maintenance Manual establishes the requirements and level of service to be provided. The county has two level of service requirements for the state system. Class 1 service is provided on USH 151/18 and STH 18 between Montfort and Dodgeville. Class 1 service means the department operates on a 24 hour / day 7 days / week basis around the clock from the onset of a storm until its’ completion and subsequent cleanup. Class two service is provided on all other state trunk highways in the county. Class 2 service is provided on STH 14, 23, 39, 80, 130, 133, and 191, which means during a snow and/or ice event these roads are attended on an 18-hour window depending on the onset of the storm. In essence; the department attends to snow and ice issues on the class two state roadways in the county between 4AM and 8PM 7 days a week on these routes.

In 2014; The Iowa County Board of Supervisors Committee on Transportation created, established, and approved a SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL POLICY to govern the operations of the Iowa County Highway Department and to contain costs. This policy defined the snow and ice removal operations for the highway department’s winter storm response with regard to the Level of Service to be provided on the County Trunk Highway System. A copy of the policy in its’ entirety may be downloaded from the Iowa County Highway Department webpage of the county website at www.iowacounty.org under the category Documents, or by contacting the Highway Department at 608-935-3381. With exception to freezing rain or ice events, the Department will operate on the COUNTY TRUNK HIGHWAY SYSTEM between the hours of 4:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. Responses during hours other than 4AM to 8PM due to emergency situations may be coordinated with law enforcement. On weekends, the Department will not begin operations until there is a snowfall event(s) of greater than 2 inches in depth or freezing rain or ice events. No county trunk highways will receive service between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. on weekdays or on weekends unless an icing event and deemed necessary by the Highway Commissioner or Operations Manager.

Divine Rehabilitation & N ursing in Fennimore: Planning for the holidays during a pandemic certainly has had its challenges. All of our activities have shifted to individual activities in light of our Covid-19 restrictions. We are fortunate to have a wonderful activity department who have worked hard to maintain our residents’ activity levels. We have themed days of the week that include: - Soulful Sunday - Music Monday - Travel Tuesday - Wednesday’s Wisdom - Thoughtful Thursday - Friday Funday - Savoring Saturday The residents have individual items to use for crafts and other activities. We also have room-toroom dance parties, treats and trivia, piano music at their doorways and happy hour. We have to be very diligent with sanitizing as we go from room to room. For Thanksgiving we made our Gratitude Turkeys and Thanksgiving Story Bracelets. As we head into December, we will be playing our favorite “indoor snowball fight”, holding Reindeer Games, making many crafts, having our door decorating contest, staff adopt-a-resident, sending out Christmas cards and working on our resident-to-family gifts. We are really excited about the gifts from the residents to their families. Q & A with Dave Bradley By Lisa Banfield, Grant, Iowa, Lafayette Shopping News, Your Family Platteville, WI - With the holidays fast approaching and winter’s arrival, we reflect on the ways 2020 has been a memorable year. While the holiday season can be a joyous time for many, it can be a challenging time for family members who reside in assisted living facilities and nursing homes. The Covid-19 pandemic has forced everyone to find new ways to stay connected. Dave Bradley and his family from Platteville, WI recently shared their experience. His Mother, Dorothie Bradley, resides at Elderspan: YF: Were you able to visit during quarantine this past spring and summer?

Dave Bradley: We were able to “visit” Mom through the window, but the window remained closed. We had to speak a lot louder for her to hear us. This summer our son played baseball at the ballpark in Platteville which happened to be in the backyard of Elderspan where Mom is residing. In between games we would pick up our lawn chairs and walk through the yard and sit outside her window and visit. For her birthday, we were able to see her without any obstructions. We still wore masks and were socially distant. She was able to be outside in the sun area outside. That was the first time we had seen her “in person” since March. Her birthday was October 10th.

YF: How will things change going into winter? Dave Bradley: Winter will be a challenge as it is getting colder. YF: Any suggestions or ideas for other families who are going through the same thing? How can family members brighten others’ holiday season? Dave Bradley: Our daughter, Katie’s preschool class, sent Mom birthday cards, which she really enjoyed. Families were invited to decorate the windows in addition to sending cards. YF: What is your Mom looking forward to as the holidays approach? Dave Bradley: She always looks forward to seeing our puppy Ellie.

She is fascinated by her and she always brings a smile to Mom’s face. Mom has had a great attitude about everything. She is full of spunk and sass. YF: What are some things you will miss this holiday? Dave Bradley: I will miss my mom’s lemon meringue pie this Thanksgiving. We will all miss not being able to have the family together for holidays. YF: What is one of your favorite holiday memories? Dave Bradley: One of my favorite memories is when Mom would go sledding with the family at the golf course. She would have as much fun as the kids. l

As you check the community calendar, you will see that even in this challenging time there are offerings that can safely take place that will fill you with the warmth of friendship and love. Once again, the Platteville Regional Chamber’s Holiday Committee has organized our holiday happenings to create a “Platteville

Hometown Christmas” with the theme of “A Storybook Christmas.” Not only can you enjoy the Chamber Business Window Decorating Contest depicting this theme, but you can also enjoy the Residential Holiday Tour of Lights by checking out a map depicting all those who choose to decorate. This year in an effort to attract more participation, a non-judged option was offered. Building Platteville will host its 4th Annual Katie’s Garden Winter Wonderland on December 4 from 5-8 pm and December 5 from 5-7 pm with a few modifications for health and safety. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available and ready for those who attend. Participants are encouraged to wear a mask and practice social distancing when attending. The lights will be illuminated in Katie’s Garden the entire month of December. You will find more offerings on the Hometown Friday Nights which take place on the first three Fridays evenings of December, December 4, 11, and 18. There will be a variety of events presented by many Platteville organizations and businesses to encourage getting outside and enjoying opportunities to patronize our local business partners in a safe manner. The Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums will once again offer the horse-drawn carriage rides on these Friday evenings to enjoy the scenery and holiday lights of our downtown, while learning about some local history. The carriages will take off every 15 minutes between 3 pm and 7:30 pm. Face coverings are requested, and each carriage is
