Mark passed away on October 31st, 2019. The Celebration of Life will be held at the Platteville Elks Club, 50 S. Oak St., Platteville, Wisconsin on Saturday, November 23 from 1-5 p.m. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be made to the Mark W. Voigts memorial fund. A “Memories of Mark” book will be available for anyone to add a favorite story and/or photo of Mark. Also the family asks that Green Bay Packer apparel be worn in his memory. Mark is survived by his two sons, Kalen Jack of Lillington, North Carolina and Jerry (Molly) Hanson of Reedsburg, Wisconsin; his granddaughter, Hope Hanson; his sister, Cindy; two aunts, Lorita (Vernelle) Klein and Marian (Willard) Voigts; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins. As tasty as turkey can be, this flavorful fowl doesn’t find its way onto many families’ dinner tables unless it’s Thanksgiving day. Makes 15 servings 1 fresh turkey, about 15 pounds, preferably free-range 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 quart apple cider 2 teaspoons dried poultry seasoning Lessons and gift certificates available. Coarse sea salt and freshly ground black pepper Directions: Remove the giblets from the turkey and discard (or save for another use). Rinse the turkey inside and out and pat dry with paper towels. Rub it all over with salt and pepper. Refrigerate, uncovered, for at least 12 hours and up to 24 hours. During that time, the surface of the turkey will become visibly dry and the skin will tighten; this encourages a nice crisp skin on the finished bird. Remove the turkey from the refrigerator 1 hour before adno=118320 you plan to start roasting. Preheat the oven to 450° F. Put the turkey on a rack set in a large, flameproof roasting pan.
