runs parallel to the Pecatonica River and is the former rail bed of the Milwaukee Road Railroad. It extends 47 miles from Monroe to Mineral Point with beautiful scenery including wildlife, rivers and ponds.
Pecatonica State Trail
runs from Calamine to Belmont offering scenery as the trail crosses creeks and streams during its 10-mile stretch. The trail connects to the Cheese Country Trail in Calamine.
Lafayette County Trails links to more trails and are open year round depending on weather conditions. Grant Country Trails Remember that only those County Roads designated with signs as ATV/UTV routes are legal to travel on in Grant County.

The successful applicant will have the ability to effectively use interpersonal skills to facilitate communication among deaf and hard-of-hearing students and their hearing peers, classroom teachers, and other school personnel through American Sign Language. Other responsibilities include providing direct communication and support for the student to access information throughout the day, providing social communication support so the student has meaningful interactions with peers, and enhancing the student’s learning of new vocabulary and language by breaking down concepts to his/her language level as well as tutoring the student under supervision of the teaching staff. Qualifications include excellent communication skills, ability to work effectively with a team, ability to interpret oral to sign language and vice versa, an associate’s degree or certification in sign language interpreting, and Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) license #O020 (Educational Interpreter-Hearing Impairment). Suffrage Centennial Celebration The Friends of the Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums are excited to present guest speaker Rebecca Kleefisch, former Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor and Chair of the National Women's Suffrage Centenary Committee, in a special Annual Meeting program honoring the 100th anniversary of Women's Suffrage. The program, which will take place on November 2nd at The Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums, will also include a performance of the readers theater piece “Failure Is Impossible” by Rosemary H. Knower featuring 17 members of the Platteville community, as well as a live choral performance of suffragette anthems by Susan Savage Day and Rebekah Demaree (founding members of Kassia: Women in Song, the UW-Platteville faculty vocal chamber ensemble) accompanied by Nancy Fairchild. The event includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer, soft drinks, and baked goods. Following the presentation by Ms. Kleefisch and the readers theater, participants are invited upstairs to the Rollo Jamison collection exhibits for a special presentation of the women’s suffrage exhibit by historian Tracey Roberts. A player piano will perform a selection of period music to enliven conversation. A onehour Annual Meeting reviewing the year’s accomplishments at The Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums begins at 4 p.m. The Suffrage Centennial Celebration begins at 5 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to make reservations in advance online at www.mining.jamison.museum/events or by phone at (608) 348-3301.
