A. Yes, and with great success. You are exhibiting two of the most common symptoms of Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD). Other common symptoms include: headaches, dizziness, limited ability to open the mouth, and a jaw that gets “stuck.” Some of the common causes include: injuries to the head, neck or face from an accident or whiplash injury, stress, and clenching Jill Unwin, Lee Unwin, of the teeth. Chiropractic treatment may involve adjusting the joint between the jaw and the skull (TMJ). With specific adjustments to the spine and TMJ, chiropractic treatment restores proper nervous system control of involved muscles and ligaments. Massage treatment to the affected muscles will reduce adhesions, trigger points, and tension which are all factors that can be contributing to your symptoms. Lastly, we prescribe specific exercise that works to strengthen and balance the muscles of the head and neck. We find this 3-tiered approach to be most successful.

Another consideration is that the pain in both your tooth and ear may be related to your TMJ (jaw) muscles. If that’s the case, resolution of the muscle issue may eliminate both your tooth and ear pain. Since you’ve experienced this pain for some time, it makes sense to have your dentist check this out and get some relief.
