Please welcome... e... Clint J. Knight, Director of Workforce Development ent Clint Knight is the new Director of Workforce Development with the Richland Area Chamber/RCDG. In this role he will be spearheading efforts to address the cri cal talent needs of businesses including helping address the skills gap, recrui ng new talent to the area, and helping employers find the employees they need to be successful. This posi on is supported through a partnership with the Richland County Department of Job & Family Services and the Richland County Founda on. Knight is a resident of Bellville, where he served on Village Council for 2015 – 2017, and Council President in 2017. Most recently, he was employed with Spherion Staffing as OnPremise Recrui ng Manager and Branch Manager in Richland and Ashland Coun es.
“I am excited to be in this posi on and eager to promote both community and economic growth in our area though talent development and a rac on," said Knight. “I believe there are great opportuni es for both employees and employers and will be working to develop ideas and programs that foster growth and reten on.” Clint and his wife Carrie have 4 children, and they spend a good deal of their me at soccer, so ball, basketball events. Number ‘1’ in the State te There are few among us who doesn’t have some rela onship, direct or indirect, with the dreaded disease Stan Butts, Guest Columnist Valleyview Country Getaway cancer in one of its myriad forms. In our community we are blessed to have a specialty center of the No. 2 Hospital in the na on, and No. 1 in Ohio which is the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center. These ranking reflect the results of an objec ve compila on of various indicators by U.S. News and World Report for its “Best Hospitals 2018-2019”. Cleveland Clinic is a nonprofit mul specialty academic medical center integra ng clinical and hospital care with research and educaon. It was founded in 1921 with the vision of providing outstanding pa ent care based on the principles of coopera on, compassion and innova on. Since 2013 Cleveland Clinic has operated its Cancer Center, located on Aspira Court (off of S. Trimble Road), with approximately 50 physicians, nurses, and other support staff. They provide services in chemotherapy, infusion, radia on therapy, PET/CT scans, and gene c tes ng, to name a few. They also provide nutri onal counseling, support groups and art therapy for both pa ents and caregivers. There is a retail pharmacy for your added convenience. Access to the Center is through physician or self-referral. They are affiliated with Avita Health Systems for cancer treatment. The Cancer Center is ac ve in the community, as one of the sponsors of the ‘Bruce A. Waite Mile for Meso (mesothelioma) 5K Run/Walk’ held recently in Ontario and a par cipant in the ‘Minority Health Fair’ at Ocie Hill Neighborhood Center. Increasing awareness of their services is a goal for the Center.
