LETTER FROM THE CLUB MANAGER

Dear Members,

As we transition into the summer months, I would like to take a moment to share a few updates from around the Club, as well as extend my appreciation for your continued engagement and support.

We are pleased to share that the pool liner project has been successfully completed and the pool is fully refreshed and ready for the season ahead. Looking forward, we will be updating our pool furniture to further enhance your experience. We would like to thank the House Committee for their support and collaboration on this upcoming improvement.

On the golf course, you may notice ongoing enhancements including refreshed rain shelters and the installation of new tee markers in the near future. Additionally, new gates are being installed throughout the property to further strengthen Club security and ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all

This past spring was especially vibrant, and it was wonderful to see so many of you enjoying the Club and participating in our events. Your presence and enthusiasm are what bring our community to life, and we truly appreciate your continued involvement.

As we plan ahead for the summer season, we encourage all members to participate in our Summer Utilization Survey. Your feedback is incredibly valuable in helping us understand evolving preferences and ensure we are providing the best possible experience for our membership. A strong response allows us to make informed decisions, and we hope you will take a moment to share your input

Thank you again for being such an important part of our Club. We look forward to a great summer ahead.

Warm Regards,

SUMMER & EVENT UTILIZATION SURVEY

Dear Members,

As we prepare for the summer season, it is important that we hear from as many members as possible.

We ask that all members take a moment to complete a brief survey focused on summer plans, dining usage, and event interest. This information is critical in helping us make informed decisions and ensure we are meeting the needs of our membership.

Accurate feedback allows us to plan more effectively, allocate resources appropriately, and deliver the level of experience you expect from the Club.

Warm regards,

Thank You for Your Effort in Course Care

We also want to sincerely thank the membership for the noticeable improvement in course care practices. There has been a clear difference in divot filling, pitch mark repair, and bunker raking, and it has genuinely enhanced the daily member experience. When everyone embraces the shared responsibility of caring for the golf course, it makes a meaningful impact for all.

LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR OF GOLF CONT.

Your efforts do not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for the pride you continue to show in the club.

Course Conditions and Continued Improvement

Turf conditions are improving, and the golf course is responding very well to the leadership in our maintenance department and more favorable weather. We are encouraged by the progress and look forward to continued improvement as the season moves along.

One area where we still need everyone’s help is cart traffic. As the rainy season begins, this becomes even more important Please do not underestimate the impact of wear patterns, especially around green surrounds and tee surrounds We continue to see carts leaving the path early to park just a tire-width closer to greens and tees. While it may seem minor, this creates unnecessary wear and damages the integrity of the natural transition from path to turf.

There is no reason to pull off the path anywhere other than the designated entry and exit points. Every time a cart leaves the path outside of those areas, it negatively affects the appearance, conditioning, and playability of the golf course. We ask all members to remain on the path until reaching the proper entry and exit locations.

AGRONOMY UPDATE

Dear Members,

As we got into March, the weather finally broke into some warmer weather. We saw some days get into the low 80’s and night time temperatures start to break 60 degrees This was helpful in some resurgence on the golf course with areas starting to show some growth and improvement Rainfall was not substantial right at 2 inches, but every little bit helps this time of year when it is generally low.

The putting greens are still maintaining health but are showing stress at times when the heat and dry winds increase. We have increased irrigation cycling and hand watering practices to nurse along. We do plan to get back into needle tines to vent to help with surface tension and their ability to accept water and oxygen better. This will also aid in continuing to move salts through the soil complex. We are approaching the end of season where compaction is settling in, and these practices will serve well until we get to our summer aerification programs

On the golf course, we plan to take advantage of the warmer weather and continue enhanced fertility practices and fertigation/acid injection through the irrigation system. As mentioned above with greens, the golf course shows a good amount of compaction due to time of year, drought conditions, and increased golf play This month we will be utilizing our tow behind aerifier with solid spikes to relieve compaction throughout our fairways and rough areas. This practice will not take a core and should not have any effect on playability Soils temperatures are approaching a level for us to be able to start spraying for nematodes The areas on the golf course that are most affected are tee slopes, green roughs, and bunker surrounds. We will map out fairway areas and tees as well to selectively treat. Increased temperatures will also help us get better efficacy on our herbicide sprays, as we will get more aggressive on spotted spurge and other weeds on the golf course.

In the greens department this past month, there was a big focus placed on attention to details for our March events. We received great reviews for both the ladies and men’s Invitationals. We still have our remaining April events ahead of us to continue to provide good playing conditions

Yours truly,

JAMIE MCCROSKY
