Welcome to our September 2026 Fall Into Balance issue of RHG Magazine™!
Balance can look different in every season of life. Sometimes it means slowing down. Sometimes it means making room for something new. And sometimes it simply means recognizing that the way we have been moving no longer supports where we are going. That is what makes this month’s theme, Fall Into Balance, so meaningful. Throughout this issue, you will find insights on protecting your energy, nurturing meaningful relationships, caring for yourself, finding your rhythm, and continuing to grow with intention. We are also celebrating our 2026 bestselling authors, upcoming book launches, expert voices, and resources designed to help you continue bringing your message forward.

My hope is that these pages remind you that balance does not have to be perfect. It simply needs to support the life, work, and purpose that matter most to you. You do not have to choose between ambition and peace. There is room for both. Thank you for being here and for being part of our RHG community. Here’s to finding your rhythm and moving forward with greater intention.
Warmly,
Rebecca Hall Gruyter

REDISCOVERING HARMONY IN A CHAOTIC WORLD TO FALL INTO BALANCE BY DEBORAH WIENER Welcome to “Fall into Balance”, a season (and mindset) for mastering work-life harmony. As the leaves turn crimson and gold, falling from the trees with graceful ease, autumn invites us to do the same: let go of what no longer serves us and find our center. In our hyper-connected, always-on culture, true success isn’t measured by how much we pile onto our plates, but by how sustainably we create balance in our lives. This rarely arrives all at once. More often, it begins with one honest moment when we ask ourselves, “Is the life I am creating actually supporting the person I want to be?” Master the Art of Not Overcommitting The first step toward balance is recognizing that your time and energy are finite. Many high achievers say “yes” to too many opportunities, commitments, and requests, only to feel stretched thin, resentful, or disconnected from what truly matters. Before agreeing to something new, pause and ask yourself: Does this align with my priorities? Will it energize me or drain me? Will the skills, growth, value, or positive connections I gain be worth the time, energy, and effort I invest? I know from experience how easy it can be to say yes because I do not want to disappoint someone, only to realize later that I have ignored my own limits. Protecting your energy is not selfish. It allows you to show up with greater clarity, creativity, and presence in your business and personal life. Where are you saying yes out of obligation, and where could a thoughtful no create more room for what matters most? 6 RHG MagazineTM

Nurture Yourself to Fuel Fulfillment and Contribution True balance requires investing in your own well-being as diligently as you invest in your business. Self-care isn’t a luxury; it’s the foundation that allows you to show up powerfully everywhere else. Incorporate daily practices that recharge you: morning movement, mindful eating, adequate sleep, or even short nature walks. When you feel fulfilled internally, you naturally contribute more meaningfully to society. Balanced individuals often become the ones mentoring others, volunteering, or building businesses with integrity that solve real problems and create solutions, rather than just chasing profit. There have been seasons in my own life when I over gave to everyone else, forgetting to refill my own cup. What simple daily practice could help you return to yourself before you give to others? This integration creates a positive cycle. A rested, healthy you makes better decisions, maintains sharper focus, and sustains long-term success. Research consistently shows that professionals who prioritize rejuvenation report higher creativity and stronger overall performance. Fall into the habit of treating your personal energy as your most valuable asset. Cultivate Relationships Through Intentional Communication Professional success can bring accomplishment, recognition, and purpose, but it cannot fully nourish the heart the way meaningful relationships do. Without genuine connection outside of work, even the greatest achievements can feel hollow. Balanced living asks us to invest time in the people who matter most, including partners, children, friends, and colleagues, through clear, compassionate communication. 7 RHG MagazineTM

Practice active listening without planning a response and make “connection time” as important as any meeting on your calendar. Use “I” statements to express your needs without blame, creating trust and emotional safety. Some of the most healing conversations begin when we stop trying to be right and start trying to understand. Who in your life might need your full presence and willingness to truly listen? Strong relationships enhance every area of life. They provide support during business challenges, deepen your fulfillment, and often spark unexpected opportunities through your network. When you communicate well, you model healthy boundaries for others while creating a support system that sustains you through all seasons. Fall Into Balance: Your Lasting Reminder This autumn choose to release the pressure of constant hustle and bustle. Embrace boundaries that protect your energy, self-care that fuels your purpose, and communication that strengthens your bonds. True success isn’t frantic achievement, it’s a process of mastering how to move through life with presence, fulfillment, and impact. Balance is about noticing when you have drifted too far from yourself and gently choosing to realign. When you fall into balance, you don’t just survive the seasons, you thrive in them. This week, say “no” to one thing you really do not want to do, schedule one act of self-care, and start meaningful conversations. Your future self, and everyone around you, will thank you. Dezlee Hancock #1 International Best Seller, Conversation Advocate and Coach Our spotlight shines on Dezlee Hancock in this issue of RHG Magazine. She is a communication advocate who believes deeply in the power of words and specializes in helping people to connect through heartfelt conversations. Through her work with Purple Enterprises LLC, she helps individuals discover the best version of themselves through selfdiscovery, self-change, and self-love, transforming the conversations they have with themselves and with others. At the heart of her work is a belief in the power of words to connect hearts, deepen relationships, and create conversations that truly matter. Share with us the title of your Book and a short 1-3 sentence description of your Book Heartfelt Connections: Have Courageous, Honest, and Thoughtful Conversations with Yourself, God, and Others. If you want a better relationship with yourself, connect deeper with others, and build bridges to make a difference, start with transforming your conversations. If you're ready to stop avoiding and start connecting by living with more heart, start here. What inspired you to write your book? I was inspired to write my book after seeing how often people unintentionally and sadly intentionally hurt themselves and others through their words, without recognizing the deeper issues driving those conversations. I believe healthier communication begins with personal responsibility. Our communities are only as strong as the individuals who make them up, and lasting change starts when each of us learns to communicate with greater courage, honesty, and compassion.

Describe something our readers today can look forward to discovering in your book Readers will discover that the conversations they have with themselves shape every conversation they have with others. The way you value, care for, and love yourself influences everything you say and do—often without realizing it. By becoming aware of your inner dialogue, you can transform your relationships, strengthen your communication, and see the world through a healthier, more hopeful perspective. When you become better on the inside, the outside world begins to look different too. What are 1-3 tips you can give our reader to help them step forward in their life powerfully? 1. Take responsibility for your own happiness. Discover what truly brings you joy instead of expecting others to provide it for you. 2. Practice self-love and self-care. When you value, respect, and appreciate yourself, you build a strong foundation to face life's challenges with confidence and resilience. 3. Choose to see life as a gift. Every day offers opportunities for growth, connection, and joy. Embrace life's goodness, and become an active participant in creating more of it for yourself and others. Share something you are passionate about: I am passionate about people—getting to know them, bringing them together, learning from them, and loving them. My life's quest is to gather meaningful relationships that will last forever. I believe every lasting connection begins with a heartfelt conversation, one that opens hearts, strengthens relationships, and reminds us we are meant to journey together. What are some ways you are helping to bring this forward in the world? I am committed to becoming the best version of myself so I can inspire and help others to do the same. When we each find our true foundation within, we become free to focus less on ourselves and more on serving others and making the world a better place—one conversation at a time. I believe everything begins with a conversation, whether it is the one we have with ourselves or the ones we share with others. My work is about creating awareness of the power of those conversations and how they shape our lives, relationships, and the world around us. 17 RHG MagazineTM

Share something you have overcome or a success story with us. One of my greatest personal successes has been letting go of the belief that happiness comes from controlling life. I've learned to embrace each moment with gratitude and trust, which has replaced stress and expectations with greater peace, resilience, and joy. Instead of working at life, I choose to live life by trusting the journey, appreciate each moment, and live with a heart that is grateful, peaceful, and full of hope. What does thriving mean to you? To me, thriving means living with inner peace. When my thoughts, feelings, and actions reflect my values, then I am truly me, and I am free from struggle and conflict. From that place, I can truly see the goodness, beauty, and potential in the people and world around me. What tip or piece of advice can you share with our reader today to empower them to SHINE? Be your own best friend. It is the foundation from which everything else is built. When you love, respect, and value yourself, you create the ability to extend that same love and compassion to others. Caring for yourself is not selfish—it is actually selfless. It allows you to live authentically, connect more deeply, love more freely, and show up in the world with more heart. When we do this, we help create a better world for everyone around us. Please share one or two quotes that you find impactful. These quotes can be from you or from someone else as long as they are powerful and moving! When you learn, teach. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do. What I can do, I should do. Through MoonKidsPress LLC, a publisher focused on nurturing children’s native intelligence, Marcia brings extensive experience working with thousands of teachers, parents, and children nationwide. Her work centers on transforming expectations and results for young children by strengthening early learning, vocabulary development, and thinking skills, while helping the adults who guide them better recognize and support each child’s natural capacity to learn and grow. What inspired you to write your book? The guidance in this book has flowed out of my successful work with so many children who faced different types of disadvantages and learning challenges and whose parents and/or teachers asked me to help them overcome those handicaps. Describe something our readers today can look forward to discovering in your book. Through following the granular activities described in this book, parents will be empowered to: 20 RHG MagazineTM

All children are intelligent and deserve intentional attention to discover and bring out their native capabilities. All of my work with children and their families and with teachers and other caregivers has focused on helping them achieve this outcome. I have found many parents “don’t know what they don’t know” and cannot find comprehensive and practical information on early literacy—what to do or why or how—to nurture and support their child for success in a formal school setting. Thus, my book. Parents constantly ask me, “What else can I do for my child? And how?” What are 1-3 tips you can give our reader to help them step forward in their life powerfully? Read aloud with your child every day from high-quality books; Talk with your child using and offering a strong vocabulary; Engage in activities that reinforce vocabulary and experimenting with ideas and projects.

Share something you are passionate about: I always share the fact that ALL children are intelligent. It’s the adult nurturing and support that make the difference in outcomes. Learn through trying and experimenting with ideas. What does thriving mean to you? I find too many children are underestimated and then underserved. My book Activate Curious, Capable Minds is written for parents as well as grandparents, preschool teachers, caregivers, and homeschoolers to engage meaningfully with children. They will then thrive and be happy if given purposeful and fun support. Both children AND parents. Share something you have overcome or a success story with us. My website www.marciabaurmoon.com shares information on children’s literature, information on how to USE quality books, have meaningful talks with children, and learning skills for babies, preschoolers, and children in elementary classes. I am also a contributor to EDUTOPIA (George Lucas Educational Foundation) with articles for teachers. What tip or piece of advice can you share with our reader today to empower them to SHINE? My advice is for adults to be involved in young children’s learning—be friends with children and share your time by talking with them and reading with them. Read about history and inventors, doers and thinkers. Read quality adult literature and nonfiction books. Learn honest and accurate facts to share with children. Please share one or two quotes that you find impactful. These quotes can be from you or from someone else as long as they are powerful and moving! I am a fan of many thinkers and doers - Eleanor Roosevelt is one of them. There are many outstanding biographies on her – I especially value Blanche Wiesen Cook’s 3 biographical volumes on Eleanor Roosevelt. Eleanor Roosevelt’s own writing is also brilliant. I am also a fan of Doris Kearns Goodwin’s books, especially her book No Ordinary Time about Eleanor and FDR, and her book Leadership Journey: How 4 Kids Became President for children ages 8-11. Studying history is SO important and crucial to understanding cause and effect. We need children to be competent readers and thinkers and doers.

HOW CAN WE FALL, OR STEP, INTO BALANCE AND KEEP IT THROUGH THE YEAR, OR OUR LIVES? FROM A STORYTELLER’S PERSPECTIVE BY: SHERRY LYNN CAMPBELL So, another new season begins: Fall/Autumn. This new season is my favorite time of the year for all sorts of reasons. But I want to focus on Balance. When I say, or write, the word “balance,” I wonder what that means to you? Is it physical balance? Or, a balanced diet? Or, spiritual balance? Or, life balance? Or, relationship balance? Just to name a few. I was born in Fall/Autumn, under the astrological sign of Libra - so I always think of the Scales of Balance first when the word “balance” is said. As a kid, I loved to practice balancing my body on the edge of a sidewalk curb like a balance beam, r on boulders, etc. I found it interesting that I noticed - felt - that moment on a swing on the way up, then the pause before it went back down, and then again there before it went back up. That momentary stillness, so subtle, and one that wouldn’t allow me to stay there, because the momentum carried me back up, or down continuously. My life, like all of yours, is full of change, full of juggling all sorts of priorities. We are in motion taking care of needs for ourselves and for others, moving here and there during our days. And all of that can sometimes feel like balancing upon a high-wire, or some days like balancing on a flat line on the road.

I used to think of Balance as an activity. Then, I thought Balance was a destination, a goal. But now, for myself anyway, I realize it’s an energy in my life that likes to dance with Change. I sometimes feel like I am dancing in unison with the Balance and Change. And sometimes, I feel like I am on the sidelines waiting for my turn to join in on their dance. And sometimes, yet still, I am afraid that their dance is too complicated for me to be able to do. Do I have the courage and patience to learn a new dance? Balance requires courage, trust, patience and perseverance. Balance is constantly shifting because Change is always happening. You might wonder, “If Balance is always moving and changing, how can I fall into Balance - find it - and keep in step with Balance?” That’s a valid wonder, which is why there are volumes of books written on the subject with an idea for a plan to follow. I’ve owned several of these books. I don’t have a plan, but I do have some thoughts which look a lot more like questions that I ask myself. What if I meditated every day? What if I journaled regularly? What if I did an activity that I loved once a week, or once a month, or regularly? What if I read one of those books on balance, cover to cover? What if I stepped out of my comfort zone and learned Tai Chi? What if I honestly sat with myself and asked questions of myself and then used that rising curiosity to investigate new ideas? The Energy of Balance is something not to master as much as it is allowing oneself to feel the energetic vibrations, and to know when to lean in, or lean out to keep one’s equilibrium. Some falls out of balance will be easy, and some falls a little rougher. I am learning every day how to dance with the energies of Balance and Change, always learning new moves and feeling the freedom, as I have grown in my life, to add in my own flair to the dance. 25 RHG MagazineTM

The thought I want to leave you with is your sense of balance is unique to yourself, as are your dance partners of Balance and Change together. Someone once said something like, dance as if no one is watching and find your own rhythm. I think that is good advice to follow. From my storyteller’s heart to yours - wonder awaits, cherish now,

Reflections from Rebecca… There are seasons when balance feels natural, and there are seasons when it feels like something we are constantly reaching for. I have learned that balance is rarely about getting everything perfectly in place. It is more about noticing. Where is your energy going? What is asking for more of you? What might be ready for less? As we move through this Fall Into Balance season, I invite you to reflect:
🍂 What are you carrying that you may be ready to release? 🍂 Where could you create a little more space for rest, joy, or connection? 🍂 What deserves more of your time and attention right now? 🍂 What would moving forward at a sustainable pace look like for you? You do not have to hold everything at once. Give yourself permission to adjust, to listen inward, and to choose what supports the person you are becoming. Balance will not look the same every day. The invitation is simply to keep returning to what matters. Find your rhythm. Honor your season. And keep moving forward with purpose, presence, and heart.

Testimonial If there’s one thing I would share about my book launch experience, it’s that you should never underestimate the power of having the right support team around you. Launching a book can feel overwhelming, emotional, and exciting all at once, but having a publicist who truly believes in your vision makes all the difference. My experience was more than just promoting a book. It was about building confidence, expanding my reach, and stepping into a new level of visibility as an author. The biggest impact for me was seeing how strategic promotion and genuine storytelling connected my book with readers in a meaningful way. It transformed what could have been a stressful process into an empowering and memorable journey. If I were encouraging a friend to launch their own book, I would tell them not to hold back out of fear or uncertainty. Your story matters, and the right launch strategy can open doors you never imagined. Investing in professional guidance and support allows you to focus on sharing your message while knowing the details are being handled with care and expertise. The launch supported my goals by increasing exposure, building credibility, and ultimately helping my book achieve Best-Seller status, something I once only dreamed about. Now that my book has become a Best-Seller, I’m most excited about the opportunities ahead, reaching even more readers, inspiring others through my story, and continuing to grow as an author and speaker. This experience reminded me that a book launch isn’t just about selling books. It’s about creating impact, building community, and believing that your voice deserves to be heard.

Paul Chiniquy, author In this issue, we are pleased to feature Paul Chiniquy, an author and former screenwriter whose creative journey grew from both personal loss and a renewed passion for storytelling. After the death of his wife, Paul returned to writing and completed his first screenplay in forty years. Along the way, he realized the story was meant to become a novel, leading him through an entirely new creative learning curve. His mission is to tell an exciting, unique, innovative, and family-friendly story that takes readers through the challenges faced by vulnerable characters and ultimately leaves them feeling uplifted, inspired, and hopeful to pursue greater excellence and joy in their own lives. On present-day Earth, her seventeenth great-grandson, teen space warrior Robby, no sooner landed to assist his scientist father in giving people life-saving lasers than he discovered Raazor commandos already there--AGAIN--and up to no good. What inspired you to write your book? I came of age in the 1950s and early 1960s. I wanted to take the best from those days, and add to the best of these times. So many of our youth could learn, and even many adults have lost some of the good from our past. I think we need to hit reset and contemplate our current world. Lost Rocket is a breath of fresh air and an immense feel-good, exciting romp. It helps us appreciate what good we do have and gives us a glimpse of what our future world could look like. Describe something our readers today can look forward to discovering in your book. See future technological marvels, meet Robby’s AI junior space fighter, sidekick Nifty, hear in your mind his innocent little-boy’s voice that will tickle your funny bone, and visualize the dread he becomes for the bad-guy aliens. Be a personal witness to fantastic, surprising scenes, and experience through the vibrant characters more excitement than your most thrilling ride at an amusement park. Enjoy the ride, folks, and please hold onto your hats! What are 1-3 tips you can give our reader to help them step forward in their life powerfully? Move forward with belief in yourself and your power. Do not allow the enemies of worry, doubt, hesitation, or even well-meaning friends to hold you back. Have love in your heart for all people, contemplate their worth—realize your powerful and amazing worth! You are your most important asset. Share something you are passionate about: Despite how hard the writing was, it was so thrilling to dig into this story. I feel optimistically confident that those who read this novel will feel the same exhilaration that the few who read it raved about, the five beta readers expressed, and even the high-level critic remarked. 34 RHG MagazineTM

What are some ways you are helping to bring this forward in the world? I am counting on the tremendous interest from my dynamic son’s massive presence on his social media websites. Knowing nothing about my story, because of their fondness for him, many dozens have committed to buy the book. One of his followers has already lined up a speaking engagement before a substantial group of adults, followed by a book signing at a nearby large bookstore the same day. I have absolutely no doubt that, once the word spreads, many will join our chorus of happy, enthusiastic readers with those who love a good story. Share something you have overcome or a success story with us. When I was 16 years old, I had a strong desire to write a novel. Then life got in the way: being a husband and father, family responsibilities, schooling, a job. In spite of all the conflicts and happiness in my life, that desire would haunt me. I never gave up hope. In spite of difficult circumstances, I always knew in my heart it would happen. After my wife passed in 2019—nothing could hold me back! Now at 83, my dream will soon become a reality. Better late than never! What does thriving mean to you? Each morning when I arise very early, I can’t wait to get on with my productive day. I have great love for, and am involved in the lives of my children and many grandchildren. Life is so exciting! What tip or piece of advice can you share with our reader today to empower them to SHINE? Look at yourself in the mirror. Realize that God made the whole world, all the animals, insects, and all the people. But there is one thing this all-powerful God cannot do: make another you! Realize how special, unique, and one of a kind you are. Go forth, don’t hesitate, BE your unique and genuine YOU! Please share one or two quotes that you find impactful. These quotes can be from you or from someone else, as long as they are powerful and moving! I love the famous nineteenth-century English scholar, writer, and co-founder of the Edinburgh Review, Sydney Smith, who once observed:
“A great deal of talent is lost in this world for the want of a little courage.” Sydney Smith 35 RHG MagazineTM

Or as insightful Massachusetts writer and publisher Charles Simmons wrote in his 1852 book: A Laconic Manual and Brief Remarker:
“Integrity is the first step to true greatness.” Charles Simmons
Any final thought, share, or idea that you would like to share with our readers today? In the face of overwhelming, Earth-shattering circumstances, the characters in my book demonstrated great courage and integrity. I know for myself, and virtually everyone else, we all can benefit by applying those character traits more in our own lives. From the standard of being grounded in reality and truth, I need to share this final disclosure. I did not realize this until two weeks before this book was completed. One simple truth that had eluded me began to bubble up to the surface in my conscious mind.

Now, they are preparing to film a couple more episodes next month, and we are excited about the direction this journey is taking. We are keeping a few details under wraps for now, but we couldn’t resist sharing a little behind-the-scenes glimpse with you. More is coming, and we look forward to sharing the next chapter with you this October or November. 37 RHG MagazineTM

FALLING INTO BALANCE THROUGH YOUR SOUL STORY BY MARY E. KNIPPEL
Discover how observation, nourishing your story, and choosing joy help you find balance through life’s every occasion.
Growing up in the Midwest, I loved summer thunderstorms. The sky would darken without warning. The wind would gather strength. Thunder would rattle the windows, and brilliant streaks of lightning would illuminate the night sky for only a heartbeat before disappearing into darkness. Then, almost as suddenly as it began, the storm would pass. The rain would soften. The air felt cleaner. Birds would cautiously return. The earth seemed to sigh with relief, nourished by everything the storm had delivered. Now that I live in California, I still treasure the sound of rain tapping against the roof, although I sometimes miss those dramatic Midwestern storms. They remind me that nature always finds its balance. So do we. Our lives are filled with seasons of thunder and seasons of gentle rain. 40 RHG MagazineTM

And perhaps nowhere do we witness that rhythm more clearly than when we begin writing our Soul Story. Writing isn't simply putting words on a page. It is one of the most powerful ways we return to ourselves. It is how we fall back into balance.
The First Soul Story Truth: Observation Every Soul Story begins with awareness. Before we can understand our lives, we must first become willing to observe them. Like standing at the window watching a storm roll across the horizon, writing invites us to become curious rather than judgmental. Instead of asking, “Why is this happening to me?” we begin asking: “What am I noticing?”
Perhaps we notice how often we silence ourselves. Perhaps we recognize patterns we've carried for decades. Perhaps we finally see the strength that carried us through moments we once believed had broken us. Observation changes everything. The storm itself hasn't changed. Our perspective has. When we journal, write a memoir, craft an article, or simply capture a single moment, we slow down enough to notice the wisdom hidden inside our experiences. Every life contains lightning. Every life contains rain. Neither defines us. Both teach us.
The Second Soul Story Truth: Rewrite Your Story Storms often leave behind fallen branches, washed-out roads, and landscapes forever changed. Life does the same. Pain, disappointment, betrayal, illness, grief, and loss all have the power to shape the stories we tell ourselves. 41 RHG MagazineTM

For many women, those stories sound something like: "I'm not enough." "My voice doesn't matter." "It's too late." "I have nothing worth saying." They are interpretations—not truths. Writing gives us the extraordinary opportunity to rewrite those stories. Not by pretending difficult experiences never happened. But by discovering what else is true. The woman who survived heartbreak also discovered resilience. The woman who battled illness uncovered courage she never knew she possessed. The woman who felt invisible learned the quiet power of her own voice. Our experiences remain. The meaning evolves. Writing allows us to become both witness and author. Our past does not write our future. We intentionally choose the story our soul has been waiting to tell and healing begins. The Third Soul Story Truth: Choose Joy After every storm comes renewal. Fresh air. Brighter skies. New growth. Joy often arrives quietly. It isn't pretending life is perfect. It is recognizing beauty even after difficulty. When we choose joy through writing, we begin noticing the small miracles that were present all along.

A conversation that changed everything. A sunrise after a sleepless night. Unexpected laughter. A handwritten letter. A cup of tea. A moment of forgiveness. Joy doesn't erase our storms. It helps us remember they are not the whole story. Writing trains our hearts to recognize both the thunder and the rainbow. The heartbreak and the hope. The ending and the beginning. Each page becomes an invitation to choose possibility over despair. Finding Balance Between Thunder and Rain Our writing doesn't always need to whisper. Sometimes it needs to roar. There are moments when our words should crash across the page with the force of thunder because truth demands to be spoken. Other times, our words become gentle rain. They comfort. They nurture. They invite healing. The most meaningful writing contains both. Passion without reflection can overwhelm. Reflection without passion may never inspire action. Soul-centered writing lives balanced between the two. It speaks honestly while offering hope. It acknowledges pain while revealing purpose. It honors every season without remaining trapped in any one of them. Just as nature continually restores its balance, writing helps us restore ours. 43 RHG MagazineTM

Your Soul Already Knows the Way Every experience you've lived has left wisdom within you. Writing helps uncover it. The page becomes a sacred place where scattered emotions settle. Questions become clarity. Chaos becomes meaning. Fear becomes courage. Piece by piece, sentence by sentence, you begin recognizing the extraordinary life you've been living all along. Not because your circumstances suddenly changed. Because your perspective did; that is the quiet miracle of your Soul Story. When you observe your life with compassion, rewrite the stories that no longer serve you, and choose joy as your guiding light, you create balance—not only on the page but within yourself.
Fall Into Balance Nature never apologizes for its seasons. Neither should you. Your life has weathered fierce storms and welcomed gentle rain. It has known seasons of extraordinary growth and seasons of quiet, painful transformation. Every experience has carried a gift. Every season has revealed new wisdom. Nothing was wasted. Each chapter has shaped the remarkable woman you are becoming—and every season has prepared you for the story only you can tell. As you sit down to write, don't ask whether your story is important enough. Instead ask: What is my soul inviting me to notice today? What story am I ready to rewrite? Where is joy waiting to be discovered? Those three questions can transform not only your writing but your life. Because writing is about far more than creating beautiful words. It is about creating a beautiful relationship with yourself. Observe with compassion. Rewrite with courage. Choose joy with intention. And allow your Soul Story to become the place where you unleash the writer in you and find your way back to balance.

What inspired you to write your book? I believe every person has a story that deserves to be reclaimed, redeemed, and redefined. My journey, from being born prematurely to spending nearly a decade in foster care and aging out of the system, taught me that our circumstances do not have to define our future. I wrote this book to remind others that adversity can become a catalyst for strength, purpose, and transformation when we choose to see our stories through a different lens. Describe something our readers today can look forward to discovering in your book. Readers will discover powerful stories of women who refused to allow adversity to have the final word. Each chapter reveals a unique journey of resilience, faith, sacrifice, and transformation, showing how challenges can become catalysts for purpose. Readers will also discover the power of shifting their mindset and redefining the words, labels, and experiences that may have once limited them. What are 1-3 tips you can give our reader to help them step forward in their life powerfully? Stop letting your past have the final say. Your experiences may explain you, but they do not have to define you. Take ownership of your story and decide what meaning you will give the moments that tried to break you. Redefine the words that have held you hostage or have you in a chokehold. Maybe your word is fear, shame, divorce, guilt, grief, failure, success, wife, or not enough. Challenge the meaning you have attached to it. What if the very thing you thought disqualified you is actually preparing you for your purpose? Take the next step, even before you feel ready. Powerful lives are not built by waiting for perfect conditions. Courage is often choosing to move forward while still carrying uncertainty and adversity. You do not have to see the entire path. Just take the next faithful step. 47 RHG MagazineTM

My reminder to every reader: Your story is not over. You have the power to redefine what happened to you, reclaim who you are, and step boldly into who you were created to become, one word at a time. Share something you are passionate about: I am passionate about the power of storytelling and helping people recognize that their experiences may shape them, but they do not have to define their future. I am also deeply committed to foster care advocacy and creating greater opportunities for children and youth impacted by the foster care system, especially those preparing to transition or who have already transitioned into adulthood. Having spent nearly a decade in foster care myself, I understand firsthand the importance of being seen, supported, and connected. Those experiences fuel my passion for ensuring young people have the relationships, resources, opportunities, and encouragement they need not only to survive, but to thrive and step boldly into their future. What are some ways you are helping to bring this forward in the world? I bring this work forward through speaking, writing, advocacy, leadership, and The RedefinHER™ EXP. Through Gordon Visionary Journals, LLC and the Gordon Family Foundation and Trust, my goal is to create spaces, resources, and opportunities that help people redefine their stories and walk boldly into their purpose. Professionally, I also advocate for children, youth, and families impacted by foster care. Share something you have overcome or a success story with us. One challenge I have overcome is learning to move beyond fear, self-doubt, and perfectionism. A success I am especially proud of is becoming The RedefinHER™ and being blessed with the gift of transforming ordinary words into powerful, catchy mantras and frameworks that help people shift their mindsets and see their experiences differently. Through speaking, writing, and storytelling, I have learned that the words we attach to our lives can either limit us or liberate us. Sometimes, the greatest transformation begins when you decide to redefine what once had the power to define you, one word at a time.

What does thriving mean to you? Thriving means more than surviving what tried to break you. To me, it means living with purpose, embracing who you are, and using your experiences as fuel rather than baggage. Thriving is when you stop merely asking, “How did I survive?” and begin asking, “What am I going to do with the life I have been given?” What tip or piece of advice can you share with our reader today to empower them to SHINE? Never allow a difficult chapter to convince you that your story is over. Start by redefining one word, label, or experience that has held you back. When you change the meaning you give your circumstances, you can begin to change the direction of your life. Your story is still being written; make sure you hold the writing tool. Please share one or two quotes that you find impactful. These quotes can be from you or from someone else as long as they are powerful and moving! “You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” Maya Angelou, Letter to My Daughter “What tried to define me became the very thing that refined me.” Trisha R. Gordon, The RedefinHER™ Any final thoughts, shares, or ideas you would like to share with our readers today? Whatever you have experienced, remember: you are more than the worst thing that has happened to you. Your pain may be part of your story, but it does not have to be the conclusion. There is purpose in your journey, power in your voice, and possibility in your next chapter. Keep going, keep growing, and never stop becoming who you were created to be. And above all, seize every moment of redefining.
