MESSAGE FROM THE HEADMEASTER

Dear RGSV Community,

A warm welcome to the 2024 - 2025 edition of the RGSV Yearbook. Each year, this publication gives us the chance to pause, reflect, and celebrate the many moments - both big and small - that have shaped our school community I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Ms Katherine, Mr Dat and the yearbook team, who have worked tirelessly to bring together this wonderful collection of memories

It’s been a remarkable year at RGSV, filled with major events, proud accomplishments, and unforgettable experiences From the colour and energy of International Day to the warmth and joy of our Tet celebration, our school community has come together time and again to celebrate culture, connection, and learning

We started the year very positively; celebrating exceptional academic achievement in 2024, especially at IB and AS level We were honored to welcome the Executive Headmaster, Mr Shaun Fenton to the grand opening of the impressive new auditorium in the first semester. Our students have represented RGSV with pride in countless sporting competitions, including football, swimming, basketball, and volleyball, displaying determination, teamwork, and resilience. Our IB Diploma Programme Art Exhibition showcased the creativity and depth of thought that characterise our senior students Our musicians, too, have enriched school life all year with their performances - whether on stage (Melodies of March), in assembly, or supporting other school events.

As we say farewell to our graduating Year 13 students, and to a number of valued staff members moving on to new adventures, we do so with gratitude and pride They have left a mark on RGSV that will not be forgotten

I hope this yearbook will serve as a treasured keepsake - something you can return to in years to come and smile at the memories within. In the words of Dr. Seuss, “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory ”

MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD OF PREPARATORY

Welcome to the Primary School section of the 2024/25 RGSV Yearbook. I find it somewhat hard to believe that we have reached the end of another academic year and now find ourselves reflecting on the year that has been I feel immense pride in the journey we've shared and the outstanding level of education we have delivered

This year, our Primary School has welcomed many new students and staff, bringing fresh energy to our community Our classrooms have been vibrant spaces of curiosity, collaboration, and learning, reflecting our wonderful IB learner attributes that sit at the heart of our curriculum delivery It has been inspiring to witness our students’ academic progress, creative thinking, and personal growth From forming new friendships to taking on challenges with confidence, every child has contributed to the fabric of our school

To our teachers and support staff, thank you for your passion, professionalism, and care. Your efforts have created meaningful and lasting learning experiences To our parents, your trust and partnership have strengthened the essential link between home and school, and we look forward to your continued support and are truly grateful for your ongoing contributions

To our students in Prep, you ’ ve been at the heart of it all. You've shown determination, kindness, and a true love for learning Whether in the classroom, on the playground, sharing your learning at our weekly assemblies, or representing our school at events, you've made us immensely proud. Camps, learning journey assemblies, open days, sports fixtures, day trips, talent shows, and all the other extracurricular opportunities presented, your attitude and willingness to get involved is inspiring.

One of the standout highlights of our academic year was the tremendous success of our PYP Exhibition, centered around the transdisciplinary theme ‘Sharing the Planet’. Our Year 6 students demonstrated impressive depth, maturity, and creativity as they explored complex global issues such as sustainability, biodiversity, access to resources, and human impact on the environment. The exhibition not only showcased their academic growth and communication skills but also reflected the values and learner attributes that define the PYP It was a proud and powerful celebration of student voice, agency, international-mindedness and showcased how we learn here at RGSV.

As we look to the future, let us carry forward the lessons, relationships, and shared successes of this year. Together, we've built a strong, connected learning community, ready for whatever comes next.

Dear Secondary School Students,

As we reach the close of another dynamic and inspiring academic year, it’s a moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate the shared journey that has brought us here. Welcome to the Secondary School’s Yearbook section, which gives us an opportunity to relive the highlights, achievements, and unforgettable moments that have shaped our community over the past twelve months.

Throughout this year, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing your growth not just as learners, but as individuals who embody the spirit of the IB learner profile Your curiosity, resilience, compassion, and courage have been on display across every corner of school life - from the academic rigor of our classrooms to the creative brilliance of your musical performances and artworks, and the passionate determination of our sports teams

One of the standout moments of the year was undoubtedly our Secondary Camp experiences. These days away from campus allowed you to step out of your comfort zones, face challenges together, and create bonds that will last far beyond the classroom. Whether around the campfire, on a hike, or during team activities, you forged unforgettable memories and friendships that define what it means to be part of the RGSV family

I feel honoured to be part of this incredible community. It has been a joy to walk alongside you, to celebrate your successes, and to see you support one another through challenges with grace and perseverance.

To our graduating Year 13 students and those who are moving on to new adventures - congratulations You leave behind more than just memories; you leave a legacy We hope that wherever life takes you, you carry a piece of RGSV in your heart. Know that you will always have a home here, and we look forward to hearing of the great things you go on to do.

PE & SPORT 2024-25

YEAR OF PRIDE, PASSION & PANTHERS POWER!

What an incredible year it’s been for PE and Sport at Reigate Grammar School Vietnam! From unforgettable House Competitions, Sports Day, Cross Country, and the Swimming Gala, to the vibrant energy of our school community, students showed resilience, teamwork, and Panther pride every step of the way. We proudly introduced the Primary Sportsperson of the Semester award, celebrating students in each year group for their dedication, progress, and leadership in PE. This new tradition has set an inspiring standard for young athletes at RGSV.

On the competitive front, RGSV teams took part in nine inter-school tournaments, including two Gaelic football events(one ending in a championship win), two basketball competitions, two football fixtures, three swimming galas, and an actionpacked Athletics Festival. Across every event, students competed with passion, skill, and sportsmanship.
