Comillas, rvieites@icade.comillas.edu Abstract The objective of this study is to analyze the messages transmitted in the sex service flyers. We analyze 220 different flyers collected in the public thoroughfare of the city of Madrid, through an analysis of the discourse, content and quantitative of the main variables and categories. Flyers were classified into four groups, as they represented a person, group, business, or Asian commercial offer. Their counterpart was searched and analyzed on the web pages of sexual ads and contacted by telephone. The results show the advertising strategies contained in the ads, the reflection in them of the demand and the characteristics of a hidden sector of prostitution. All flyers offer a vision of free, voluntary and independent prostitution that contrasts with being one of the spaces of coercive prostitution, as several studies have suggested Keywords Prostitution; sexual services; sex work; sexual Advertisement.
