LUXE LIVING BY REVE MAGAZINE

HIDDEN HOTELS

01

Dear Readers,

On the Places That Ask Something of You

There is a particular kind of place -- and you will know it the moment you step inside -- that does not simply offer you comfort It asks you to slow down, to notice, to participate in something older and more deliberate than the pace of ordinary life The three features in this June edition of LUXE Living by REVE are each, in their own way, that kind of place.

In Cape Town, The Diamond Works Institute has spent more than two decades inviting visitors not merely to buy, but to understand To witness the cutting and polishing of stones that carry within them the geological memory of a continent To hold a piece of tanzanite -- found nowhere on earth but the foothills of Kilimanjaro- and know that what you are holding is rarer than you imagined before you arrived. That quality, of a place teaching you something true, is rare in itself.

In Dubai, Suha Hospitality has built its reputation on a quieter proposition: that a stay can feel like living, rather than visiting Along the historic waterfront of Mina Rashid, a portfolio of thoughtfully designed residences offers the city at its most serene. In a destination that prides itself on spectacle, there is something quietly radical about a hospitality group that chooses ease over drama.

And in Spain, Hidden Hotels has done something that most in the industry talk about and very few achieve -- it has made historical buildings breathe again The Gran Hotel Ingles in Madrid. Gravina 51 in Seville. Seda Club in Granada. Each is a love letter to a city's past, written in the language of genuine contemporary luxury. Not preserved behind glass, but lived in, dined in, celebrated in.

These are not passive destinations. They expect your curiosity. I hope this edition carries some of theirs to you

Warmly, Heidi and Team

06 THE ARCHITECTURE OF EXTRAORDINARY

There is a thread connecting every property and experience that earns recognition through REVE Luxury Awards. It is not a thread of category or geography, of star rating or square footage It is something less measurable and more essential: a commitment to the idea that where we choose to go, and what we choose to surround ourselves with, shapes who we become, at least for the duration of a stay.

That commitment takes many forms. Sometimes it arrives as grandeur, as ceilings that make you look up and rooms that make you speak more quietly. Sometimes it arrives as restraint, as the considered absence of noise, of clutter, of anything that does not need to be there And sometimes it arrives as knowledge, as a place that gives you something to carry home that weighs nothing and costs nothing extra, but stays with you longer than any thread count or tasting menu.

What unites these expressions is intention. The opposite of extraordinary is not ordinary It is unconsidered And the properties that earn their place in LUXE Living by REVE are, above all else, places where someone has considered everything

This June, our edition turns its attention to three very different expressions of that intention, spread across three continents and shaped by three entirely distinct cultural inheritances.

In Cape Town, The Diamond Works Institute has spent more than two decades making the case that education is one of the highest forms of hospitality. To understand where a stone comes from, how it is worked, what it carries within it of a continent's geological history, is to receive a gift that no checkout process can reverse. The Institute has built an experience around transparency, around the radical proposition that a client who knows more is a client who chooses better, and lives more richly with what they choose That is not a common philosophy in luxury retail It is a brave one

In Dubai, Suha Hospitality has asked a different question: what does a traveller actually need, beneath the spectacle the city so readily provides? The answer the group has arrived at, through four carefully positioned properties along the waterfront and across the city's key districts, is space, calm, and the functional elegance of a home that belongs to you for as long as you need it to In a destination that competes on superlatives, the decision to compete on livability is a form of quiet confidence.

And in Spain, Hidden Hotels has done something that sits at the very heart of what REVE Luxury Awards was created to celebrate: it has taken what the world was in danger of forgetting and made it the foundation of something extraordinary. Forgotten mansions restored Private clubs reopened. Aristocratic houses given back their dignity and their daily life. Across Madrid, Seville, Granada, and Mallorca, the group has proved that heritage is not a constraint on luxury. It is, when handled with sufficient care and skill, luxury's most powerful source.

These three nominees represent something broader than their individual achievements They represent a direction of travel for the industry, one in which the most compelling luxury experiences are not those that remove you from the world, but those that place you more fully inside a particular version of it. A version with history, craft, and character A version worth paying attention to.

The REVE Luxury Awards programme exists because global voting communities across more than thirty countries believe that excellence deserves to be named. Not marketed into visibility, but recognised into it. The properties in this edition have been seen by the people who experienced them, and those people have said: this was worth it. That is the most honest review in existence

What the finest architects understand, and what the finest hoteliers and experience designers are beginning to rediscover, is that a structure is only as enduring as the intention beneath it. Build for appearance and time will expose you Build for experience and time will deepen you.

The Diamond Works Institute, Suha Hospitality, and Hidden Hotels have each, in their own language and their own landscape, built for experience. That is the architecture this edition celebrates

THE DIAMOND WORKS INSTITUTE

There is a building on Christiaan Barnard Street in central Cape Town where visitors routinely arrive expecting a shop and leave having had an education The Diamond Works Institute, open every day of the year from early morning to the last light of the evening, has spent more than two decades perfecting the art of making the extraordinary accessible.

Founded in 2001, the Institute occupies a position that is genuinely unusual in the world of fine jewellery: it is both a world-class retailer and a working studio, where GIA-certified gemmologists and master goldsmiths carry out their craft in full view of the public A glass of South African sparkling wine in hand, visitors are guided through the process of diamond cutting and polishing, learning the language of the four Cs -- cut, colour, clarity, carat -not from a brochure but from the hands that apply them

The Rarity That Redefines Rarity

The centrepiece of the Institute's experience, and arguably the element that most consistently astonishes visitors, is tanzanite. A gemstone found exclusively at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, tanzanite is estimated to be one thousand mes rarer than diamond

SUHA HOSPITALITY

ubai is a city in a constant state of reinvention, always adding another superlative to its already extraordinary collection Against this backdrop of perpetual spectacle, Suha Hospitality has built its reputation on a counterintuitive premise: that what many visitors to Dubai most need is not more stimulation, but genuine rest.

A member of the Sharaf Group, Suha Hospitality operates four apartment properties across the emirate -- in Jumeirah, Bur Dubai, and two locations in the waterfront Al Jaddaf district Each property is built around the concept of serviced living: the amenities of a hotel married to the space, rhythm, and autonomy of a private residence. For the growing category of traveller who no longer draws a clear line between business and leisure, between a stay of three nights and a stay of three months, Suha provides the kind of base that actually supports life rather than simply accommodating it

The Suha Mina Rashid property, set within the historic Mina Rashid waterfront area, is perhaps the clearest articulation of the group's identity. The architecture here does not shout. Large windows invite natural light without demanding attention. Layouts are practical rather than theatrical, designed to be lived in rather than photographed Clean finishes and functional detail create an environment that is calming rather than neutral -- there is a considered intelligence behind the restraint.

"A home away from home in Dubai -- where the pace of the city softens at the water's edge."

The surrounding Mina Rashid area itself brings something that few Dubai addresses can offer: a genuine sense of place, a neighbourhood with historical character set in contrast to the gleaming anonymity of newer developments. Dining, retail, and leisure facilities are close at hand, but the waterfront remains the dominant mood -- open, slow, and restorative.

What distinguishes Suha Hospitality within its competitive set is a sustainability commitment that is not decorative The group has made active choices to reduce single-use plastics, implement energy and water conservation technologies across all properties, and prioritise local suppliers in its sourcing. Staff receive ongoing sustainability training, and guests are invited to participate in the group's environmental initiatives -- not through guilt, but through the straightforward provision of better alternatives.

This is the kind of sustainability that earns trust rather than certifications, though the intent, clearly, is both. It is integrated into the operational culture of the business rather than bolted on for appearances, and it aligns neatly with the group's overall ethos: that genuine hospitality is fundamentally about care -- for guests, for communities, and for the environment those communities inhabit

All four Suha properties are positioned to provide convenient access to Dubai's major business and leisure districts, a practical necessity in a city where distances between key locations can be significant. But the group's consistent emphasis is on the experience within its walls: the quality of the sleep, the ease of the morning, the sense of having somewhere that actually belongs to you, at least for the duration of your stay

In the context of REVE Luxury Awards 2026, Suha Hospitality represents a category of excellence that is often overlooked in favour of more visually dramatic nominees. The luxury of a stay that is simply, thoroughly, and consistently good is not a lesser achievement. In many ways, it is the harder one

Hidden Hotels

he word "hidden" implies concealment, but what Hidden Hotels has spent more than a decade doing is closer to revelation Since its founding in 2013, this Spanish boutique hospitality group has located buildings that history had pushed to the margins -- forgotten mansions, disused private clubs, aristocratic houses left behind by changing fortunes -- and restored them with a fidelity to their original character that the original builders might have found difficult to believe.

The result is a collection of seven properties spread across Madrid, Seville, Granada, and Mallorca, each of which carries within its walls the unmediated soul of the city that surrounds it. These are not hotels that happen to be situated near heritage sites They are heritage sites in which people happen to sleep, dine, and gather

The flagship property of the Hidden Hotels collection is the Gran Hotel Ingles in the heart of Madrid's Barrio de las Letras -- the Literary Quarter It is not merely the oldest hotel in the city It is an institution that the city's cultural life has woven into itself Art Deco interiors, a celebrated cocktail bar, rooms that have accumulated layers of atmosphere over a century, and a brunch programme accompanied by live jazz: the Gran Hotel Ingles offers the particular pleasure of a place that knows exactly what it is and has never felt the need to be anything else.

"Not just a place to stay -- a destination in itself. Here, time stands still and luxury is savoured at leisure."

If the Gran Hotel Ingles represents the grandeur of the collection, the other properties reveal its range Gravina 51 in Seville is set in an early twentieth-century palatial home in the old town, where Andalusian light filters through lemon trees and centuries-old columns hold the silence of a different era Nearby, Cavalta Boutique Hotel occupies a 1925 building in Triana, one of Seville's most characterful and storied neighbourhoods, transformed into a five-star hotel that celebrates the beauty of roots

On Mallorca, Posada Terra Santa -- the property that began the Hidden Hotels story -- stands behind a sixteenth-century Renaissance facade in the old town of Palma, its Gothic arches and quiet courtyard a declaration of intent that the rest of the collection has honoured. Samaritana Suites, also in Palma, offers nine apartments in the heart of the old city: no formal reception, no ceremony, just warm design, natural light, and the sensation of being a temporary resident of the city's most authentic neighbourhood

Hidden Hotels has built its model around three pillars that are easy to state and very difficult to execute consistently: conceptual excellence, superior interior design, and positioning in the luxury segment that is earned rather than claimed Industry recognition across multiple award programmes confirms that the execution has kept pace with the ambition

The group also offers what it calls Hidden Plans -- tailor-made experiences and premium getaways that extend the hotel stay into the surrounding city Private tours, exclusive dinners, curated selfcare moments: the plan is to deliver the city as a shared secret rather than a standard itinerary. For the traveller who has already seen the highlights, this is the difference between information and experience.

That distinction -- between being told about a place and being given access to it -- is, in the end, the promise that Hidden Hotels has built its reputation on And it is a promise this edition of LUXE Living by REVE is proud to carry forward to our readers
