The proceeds generated tonight will benefit innovation and responsiveness to some of the greatest challenges in providing health care and social services. In 1868, James de Rothschild purchased Château Lafite, which ignited the French branch of the Rothschild family’s passion for wine. Over a century later, Baron Edmond de Rothschild, James’ great-grandson, acquired two Cru Bourgeois wines, Château Clarke and Château Malmaison, in Listrac and Moulis-en-Médoc, respectively, and established the Compagnie Vinicole Baron Edmond de Rothschild in 1973. The company has since expanded globally, with vineyards covering 150 hectares in Médoc and joint ventures in South Africa, Argentina, and New Zealand. In 1997, Benjamin & Ariane de Rothschild partnered with the Rupert Family to create Rupert & Rothschild Vignerons and with Laurent Dassault to cofound Bodega Flechas los Andes. Today, the company’s vines planted in virgin lands worldwide produce renowned wines. In addition, the Compagnie Vinicole acquired 24 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir vines in New Zealand’s Marlborough region in 2012. Vines planted around the world in virgin lands are now the source of internationally famous wines.

Antton Bastianaaggi is a passionate winemaker with a deep love for wine and its rich history. Antton believes that wine is a magical vehicle for connections and shared experiences. He is a firm believer that everything about wine can be shared, making it an incredibly powerful way to connect with others. He has taken on more significant responsibilities in the wine industry over the past five years, including working as a winemaker assistant and a winemaker. He is grateful for the opportunities he has had to learn and grow in the wine industry.

In 2019, he launched his podcast Table 86, where he showcases underrepresented content creators, entrepreneurs, and culinary professionals that are transforming the food and beverage industry.   Geo’s work has been featured in Food52, The Washington Post, Philadelphia Magazine, Simply Recipes, Eater Philly, and in 2020 he was a guest on WHYY’s Check Please! Philly. He currently serves on the board of PA Eats, a non-profit organization dedicated to combating food insecurity across the state of Pennsylvania, as well as on the board of Eat the Culture, an organization creating a community-centered safe space for Black culinary creators and entrepreneurs.
