EDITOR’S NOTE

THE POWER OF RESET

There is strength in beginning again.

Winter offers a rare invitation to pause before accelerating. To refine before expanding. To reset not only our calendars, but our priorities. In 2026, luxury is defined less by excess and more by intention. The true marker of success is alignment.

This issue explores what it means to reset well.

On our cover, Kendall Toole represents a modern recalibration of strength. Her story reflects resilience, mental clarity, and the courage to redefine success on her own terms. Wellness is no longer an accessory to achievement. It is the foundation.

Aaron Sanchez reminds us that legacy is built through discipline and craft, where culture and leadership intersect. Caitlyn Warakomski brings forward a narrative of creative conviction, demonstrating that influence today is shaped by authenticity as much as ambition. Together, these profiles reflect a shift toward leadership rooted in depth.

Where we stay and how we travel also reveal our priorities. From the elevated elegance of The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue to the playful sophistication of INNSiDE New York NoMad and the artistic intimacy of UNTITLED at 3 Freeman Alley, hospitality this season is defined by character and restoration. Our winter ski escape feature highlights a quieter luxury, where stillness and slower rhythms replace spectacle.

Real estate and design echo this cultural evolution. Less square footage, more intention captures the movement toward purposeful living. Naturefirst private club communities and the visionary scale of Optima McDowell Mountain in North Scottsdale illustrate how biophilic design, wellness integration, and long-term value are redefining residential aspiration.

Culinary stories carry us from SoHo to Miami, where Greek island heritage and vibrant, health-forward dining express clarity and balance. Milan Fashion Week previews a season of structure softened by ease, reflecting a broader return to refinement.

The Reset Issue is not about reinvention for its own sake. It is about discernment. Choosing experiences, spaces, and investments that elevate how we live. Recognizing that longevity, design, culture, and leadership are connected expressions of modern wealth.

As we begin 2026, we invite you to reset with intention. Travel with purpose. Invest in wellbeing. Design for clarity. Lead with depth.

The most meaningful luxury is not necessarily louder. It is wiser.

Warmly,

Kendall Toole’s Case for

WELLNESS THAT LASTS

Mental resilience, everyday movement, and the future of longevity-focused fitness

As the initial momentum of the New Year softens, the question many people face is not how to start, but how to continue. Sustainability, not intensity, has become the quiet ambition of modern wellness. Few voices articulate that shift with the clarity and lived experience of Kendall Toole.

A global fitness instructor, mental health advocate, and entrepreneur, Toole rose to prominence as one of Peloton’s most beloved instructors, building a worldwide following of more than two million through her Never Knocked

Out mindset. Today, that philosophy has evolved into NKO Club, a wellness platform designed around longevity, mental resilience, and real life rhythms. The result is not a performance-driven system, but a lived ecosystem that integrates movement, mindset, nourishment, recovery, music, and community.

In conversation with Resident Magazine, Toole reflects on burnout, leadership, and why true consistency looks far more human than we are often taught.

LISTENING TO THE PULL THAT BECAME NKO CLUB

Every founder’s origin story carries a moment of quiet reckoning. For Toole, it was not a sudden pivot, but a sustained inner knowing shaped by years at the center of high-performance fitness.

Every founder’s story has a moment where instinct outweighs certainty. What led you, personally and professionally, to create your own company, and what did you feel was missing in the wellness space that you felt called to build?

“For me, the moment where instinct outweighed certainty wasn’t dramatic or sudden, but I felt it as a persistent pull. After years helping millions push through physical challenges as a Peloton instructor, I was facing burnout, anxiety, and a disconnect between outward strength and inner struggle. The wellness industry often treats fitness as just a performance metric, like a number we need to chase, rather than a holistic practice that supports the whole person. I saw firsthand that we were missing tools for building mental and emotional resilience alongside physical strength. That gap pushed me to build NKO Club, not just as another ‘fitness app,’ but as a place where movement, mindset, nourishment, and recovery blend seamlessly and can be woven into everyday life.”

NEVER KNOCKED OUT AS A LIFELONG PRACTICE

At the core of NKO Club is the Never Knocked Out philosophy, a phrase that has followed Toole through her career and now defines the platform’s culture.

Never Knocked Out is both a phrase and a lived posture. How did that philosophy influence the culture and structure of NKO Club, not just in how people move, but in how they see themselves over time?

“Never Knocked Out isn’t about ‘never failing.’ It’s about refusing to disappear even when you’re down. It’s about staying in the fight. That philosophy is embedded into everything we do. It’s important to realize that our worth isn’t determined by our output, but rather in the way we honor ourselves by showing up in whatever

capacity we have that day, whether you have 5% to give or 95%. At the end of the day, it’s not about perfection but our resilience to keep on going. NKO Club provides the tools to stay strong, not just through our workouts, but also with mental health practices and community to keep you supported on your journey.”

DESIGNING WELLNESS AS AN ECOSYSTEM

Rather than isolating fitness into a single discipline, NKO Club was intentionally built to reflect how wellness actually functions in daily life.

NKO Club is intentionally designed as an ecosystem—movement, mindset, music,

nourishment, recovery. Why was it important for you to design wellness as a lived experience rather than a performance-based outcome?

“Health and wellbeing shouldn’t be confined to the gym or limited by our position on a leaderboard. Our wellness lies at the intersection of our physical training, mindset and nervous system, and lifestyle habits outside of the gym as well. These daily rhythms can ebb and flow, so I made sure that NKO Club has an approach that meets members where they are in their lives and experiences. NKO Club intentionally blends strength training, boxing, breathwork, Pilates, gratitude journaling, recipe building, and recovery. Wellness isn’t siloed, so neither should your approach be to achieve it.”

MENTAL HEALTH AS A NONNEGOTIABLE

Toole’s openness around anxiety and depression has long resonated with her community. Within NKO Club, those experiences translate into tangible tools.

You speak openly about mental health with a clarity that feels grounded. How did your own inner work shape the decision to integrate practices like breathwork, reflection, and gratitude into the platform?

“Integrating these practices into NKO Club was a no-brainer. During my seasons of anxiety and navigating depression, I learned that physical training by itself wasn’t enough. Doing the inner work, like breathwork, self-reflection, and gratitude practices, saved me on my hardest days. These practices became necessities in calming my nerves, building awareness, and shifting my perspective when times got tough. They’re tools for transformation, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well. Everyone should have access to them!”

RELEASING THE ALL-OR-NOTHING MINDSET

For many women, wellness carries an unspoken pressure to be done perfectly. NKO Club seeks to dismantle that expectation.

Many high-achieving women struggle with the quiet pressure to do wellness “perfectly.” How do you invite your community to release the all-or-nothing mindset and embrace something more sustainable and lifegiving?

“As women, we experience so much pressure to be perfect in all facets of our lives. Perfect body, perfect hair, perfect outfits, perfect juggling act. It’s important to just slow down and listen to ourselves rather than the expectations people might have for us. At NKO Club, we redefine success as consistency. Show up and return to yourself over and over again, even when it’s hard and life fluctuates. Some days, you might feel compelled for a heavy lift or intense boxing session. Some days, you might crave gentle recovery. When you stop chasing a number

and instead pursue a feeling, you can celebrate your micro-wins and shift from performance to presence.”

LEADERSHIP, BURNOUT, AND LEARNING TO SOFTEN

Toole’s career has spanned intensity and restoration, a balance she continues to refine as a founder.

Your background spans intensity—athletics, boxing, performance—and gentler, restorative disciplines. How do you personally discern when to push and when to soften, especially in seasons of growth and leadership?

“I once defined ‘growth’ as ‘harder, faster, louder.’ Then came the burnout. Since then, I’ve learned to first listen to my nervous system and intuition rather than external expectations or ego. While no day is perfect, I strive to follow that gut feeling and make choices that align with how I truly feel so that I can move forward with clarity. I’ve found that when I soften and recalibrate when exhaustion rears its head, I’m better able to engage and be present. It’s not always easy though. Being able to discern when it’s time to slow down is a leadership muscle in itself. NKO Club provides tools, like journaling, that you can do first thing in the morning with just a few spare minutes, to help members find pause when real life demands more of us.”

REDEFINING CONSISTENCY ON HUMAN TERMS

Discipline has long been framed as rigidity. Toole offers a more forgiving definition.

Consistency is often framed as discipline, but lived consistency tends to look far more human. What does consistency mean to you now, and how has your definition evolved as both a founder and a woman?

“With consistency, I know that I can give myself grace as long as I keep showing up. Maybe it’s not a 5am workout every morning, but 5am one day and then 7:30pm the next. Sometimes it’s a slower stretch session instead of an all-out sweat session. Having that shift in perspective changes everything. When I looked at consistency as constant discipline or a rigid checklist, a single slip up felt like judgement when I missed

the mark. Life shifts and how we frame consistency should too. Think: consistent care, not consistent pressure.”

COMMUNITY AS A PLACE TO RETURN TO

Connection remains a cornerstone of the platform, both digitally and beyond.

Community is at the heart of NKO Club. What kind of environment were you most intentional about creating, and how do you protect that culture as the platform grows?

“I wanted to create a space that people can keep coming home to. NKO Club isn’t a performative stage. It’s a place where your superpower comes from your depth, vulnerability, and connection to others. That’s why community features are woven into its fabric, and as we grow we’re excited to bring more in-person events to the forefront as a third space for our members.”

A LONGER VIEW OF WELLNESS

Looking ahead, Toole sees wellness moving away from metrics and toward meaning.

Looking ahead, how do you envision the future of wellness—not just in terms of trends, but in how people relate to their bodies, their minds, and their lives over the long arc of health and longevity?

“The conversation around wellness is already shifting from performance to longevity. It’s not just about the metrics on a screen or where we place in a competition, but our continuous pursuit toward being and feeling our best. I see a future where wellness is integrated, combining our physical, mental, and life experiences, to build lasting habits that support peace, presence, and, ultimately, joy.”

As wellness continues to evolve, Kendall Toole’s work offers a grounded counterpoint to extremes. Through NKO Club, she makes a compelling case for consistency rooted in care, strength paired with self-awareness, and a version of wellness designed to support people not just at their peak, but across the full arc of their lives.

AARÓN SÁNCHEZ

on Cooking With Purpose and Building a Culinary Legacy

How tradition, mentorship, and storytelling continue to shape one of the most influential voices in Mexican cuisine

Aarón Sánchez has spent decades doing far more than cooking. His career has unfolded as a layered narrative of heritage, responsibility, and evolution, one rooted in Mexican tradition and shaped by a deep sense of service to the next generation. A chef, television host, author, and philanthropist, Sánchez has built a body of work that treats food as both craft and cultural record, where recipes carry memory and kitchens become classrooms.

As a third-generation cookbook author and the son of legendary chef Zarela Martinez, Sánchez has always understood that legacy is not something inherited passively. It is something practiced daily, refined over time, and shared generously. From his restaurants and television work to his mentorship on MasterChef and his philanthropic efforts through the Aarón Sánchez Impact Fund, his approach to food remains anchored in one guiding belief: tradition is not static. It is alive, responsive, and meant to be carried forward with care.

That philosophy is especially visible as Mexican cuisine continues to gain global recognition, often filtered through modern techniques and visual trends. For Sánchez, honoring the past while remaining creatively engaged requires restraint, clarity, and respect for the dish itself.

TRADITION AS A LIVING FOUNDATION

Mexican cuisine is at the heart of everything you do. How do you honor tradition while continuing to evolve the way people experience Mexican food today?

“Early in my career, I thought I wanted to do elevated Mexican food using European techniques, making tall food and all of that. But at the end of the day, I am not a fan of fusion. My true belief is that all food should be rooted in tradition.

As a chef now, what I do is take something classic, like chile en nogada, the poblano dish traditionally served around Cinco de Mayo with picadillo, walnut cream sauce, and pomegranates, and reinterpret it without losing its core essence. Maybe instead of pork and beef, I use venison. I might add different vegetables, spices like star anise, or a pomegranate syrup instead of fresh pomegranate seeds.

The goal is to alter the dish without losing what makes it recognizable. I want people to eat my food and say, “I get it.” The flavors feel familiar, but it is still distinctly mine. Developing that voice takes time. You have to go through it, experience it, and really understand it. That exposure is one of the most important things for chefs.”

MENTORSHIP BEYOND THE KITCHEN

Sánchez’s influence extends well beyond his own plates. As a longtime judge on MasterChef and MasterChef Junior, he has helped guide both aspiring professionals and young cooks at formative stages of their lives.

You’ve spent years guiding home cooks on MasterChef and mentoring young talent on MasterChef Junior. What does it mean to you to help shape the next generation of cooks?

“It is extremely important to me. When I started working with the kids, my own children were young, so I was living that experience every day. What impressed me most was how prepared they were. They were using terms like vinaigrettes, emulsions, and marinades at eight or ten years old.

What was most gratifying was realizing that the future is bright. These kids are genuinely interested in cooking. It showed that cooking can be a meaningful pursuit and not just another activity competing with video games.

With adults, I am always inspired by career changers. People who spent years in another profession, felt unfulfilled, and decided to go all in on cooking. Many of them quit their jobs to pursue it. When you think about the sacrifices people make to follow that passion, it is incredibly powerful.”

CREATING ACCESS THROUGH THE AARÓN SÁNCHEZ IMPACT FUND

That same sense of responsibility led Sánchez to establish the Aarón Sánchez Impact Fund, a program of Emeril Lagasse Foundation designed to provide Latino youth with culinary education, mentorship, and real opportunity. The initiative reflects his firsthand experience in professional kitchens and his determination

to change who gets to lead within them.

The Aarón Sánchez Impact Fund focuses on uplifting Latino youth through food. Why was it important for you to create a program that connects mentorship, education, and culture in such a direct way?

“For me, it was about giving back to an industry that has been incredibly good to me and has allowed me to build a beautiful life through cooking and serving others.

Our youth is our most valuable commodity. If we do not plant seeds for the future, then we are not doing our job. As a proud Mexican American, it was also important to make sure Latino communities had access to opportunity. When I started out, many kitchens were full of Latinos doing the work, but not calling the shots. I never liked that.

I wanted to create a pathway where the people working behind the scenes had a real chance to excel. Education should not be a barrier. If you provide education and a strong culinary foundation, there are no excuses not to succeed. That was the genesis of the Impact Fund, and it has been incredibly rewarding.”

FOOD AS MEMORY AND STORY

Across Sánchez’s work, storytelling remains a constant thread. It appears in his memoir Where I Come From: Life Lessons From A Latino Chef, in his podcast Cooking in Mexican from A to Z, and most powerfully, in the way he speaks about family and time.

Whether on screen or at the table, your work is rooted in storytelling. What elements do you believe turn a good meal into a lasting memory?

“For me, it starts with abuelas and grandmothers. You never see your grandmother rushing. That patience reflects the food. Those dishes sit in the pot all day, developing flavor, guided by hands that have made them for decades.

Through that process, storytelling unfolds naturally. If you are lucky enough to still have your elders, you should film them cooking or telling stories about their lives. Those moments become some of the most beautiful things you will ever have.

Food tells stories through technique, tradition, and time. I always encourage people to ask their elders questions and preserve those memories.”

MIAMI, COMMUNITY, AND THE POWER OF GATHERING

Sánchez’s long relationship with the South Beach Wine and Food Festival reflects his belief in food as a communal experience. Hosting Tacos & Tequila in the Miami Design District this year feels both familiar and newly energizing.

South Beach Wine & Food Festival continues to be a powerful platform for culinary culture. What does hosting Tacos & Tequila in the Miami Design District represent for you this year?

“I have hosted this event many times over the years, and it is always an honor. What excites me this year is moving it to the Design District.

Miami is bigger than South Beach, and I think people are really starting to understand that.

I have been with the festival team for more than 20 years. I am one of the originals, so being part of it after such a long career feels special. I love how versatile the taco is. Everyone brings their own interpretation, and that creativity is what makes the event exciting.

Miami has always felt like home to me. There is such a strong food culture and a deep Latino influence. It is nothing but love. Cooking for large crowds does not intimidate me. That is just what we do. I am excited because it feels like the festival is shaking things up, and that is always a good thing.”

LOOKING FORWARD WITHOUT LIMITS

Even with decades of experience behind him, Sánchez shows no interest in slowing down. His upcoming projects reflect a desire to revisit earlier chapters while continuing to expand his reach across food, media, and education.

Looking ahead, what are you most excited to explore next in food, storytelling, and hospitality?

“I am part of Cocina, a company focused on creating Latino content in both Spanish and

English. We are working on a new show called La Comida del Barrio with Aarón Sánchez, which brings everything full circle for me, going back to my first cookbook almost 25 years ago. I will be traveling to different cities and retracing my steps, which I am really excited about.

I am also returning to Food Network with a new show, which feels like coming home. You will be hearing more about that very soon.

Beyond that, it is about continuing to put more kids through culinary school and making people happy through food. The future feels

very bright. I believe in growing, being multifaceted, and not limiting yourself to one lane. That is where the fun is, and that is where I am headed next.”

For Aarón Sánchez, cooking has never been just about technique or exposure. It is about stewardship. Through food, he preserves memory, creates access, and invites the next generation to step forward with confidence. Legacy, in his hands, is not something left behind. It is something actively built, one dish, one story, and one student at a time.

CAITLYN WARAKOMSKI

on Personal Style, Modern Luxury, and Dressing for Real Life Ahead of New York Fashion Week

The Founder of HOW DO YOU WEAR THAT Reflects on Experience-Driven Fashion, Thoughtful Production, and What She Wants to See on the NYFW Runway

As New York Fashion Week approaches, the fashion conversation naturally turns toward creativity, craftsmanship, and the ideas that set the tone for the season ahead. Runways become a place where design meets storytelling, offering both inspiration and aspiration. For Caitlyn Warakomski, founder of HOW DO YOU WEAR THAT, fashion has always been about carrying that inspiration beyond the runway, focusing on pieces that continue to feel relevant long after the shows wrap.

Based in New York City, Warakomski built her career by trusting personal style over constant reinvention. Long before launching her brand,

she cultivated a following drawn to her ability to make unexpected pieces feel intuitive, wearable, and honest. That same philosophy now anchors HOW DO YOU WEAR THAT, a label rooted in comfort, thoughtful production, and clothing designed to move through everyday life with ease.

As the fashion calendar turns toward NYFW, Warakomski reflects on her journey from event marketing to entrepreneurship, her commitment to domestic production, and how modern luxury continues to evolve for women who want clothes that work beyond the runway.

AN EYE FOR EXPERIENCE BEFORE FASHION

Before launching HOW DO YOU WEAR THAT, Warakomski spent years working in event marketing, a background that continues to inform how she approaches fashion today.

You started in event marketing before building HOW DO YOU WEAR THAT. What lessons from that chapter still guide how you run your business today?

“Working in event marketing really shaped how I think about experience. You become very aware of how people move through a space, how something feels, and where the small details matter. Today, I approach HOW DO YOU WEAR THAT in a similar way, thinking about the full experience around the brand, not just the product itself.”

WHY PERSONAL STYLE OUTLASTS TRENDS

In an industry driven by seasonal cycles, Warakomski has remained deliberate about not chasing what is new simply for the sake of it.

Your focus has always been personal style over trends. How has that mindset helped you build longevity in a fast-moving industry?

“Yes! I love personal style so much. That’s true, and it’s because trends move so fast, and if you chase every single one, you’ll actually end up losing yourself quickly. Focusing on personal style has allowed me to stay grounded and consistent. I’m not aiming to reinvent myself every season and I think this sense of honesty is what resonates with my community the most. I just make what I actually want to wear and crave in my closet and what I feel the most comfortable in, sometimes it can be more trend forward, but oftentimes it’s just me.”

WHEN A PERSONAL PROJECT BECAME A BRAND

HOW DO YOU WEAR THAT began without a formal business plan or launch strategy. Instead, it evolved organically through community demand.

HOW DO YOU WEAR THAT began as something you made for yourself. When did it click that this was becoming a real business?

“I didn’t have that big ‘ah-ah’ moment, but I started noticing how naturally the pieces were fitting into our customers’ lives, and when people kept asking for the same pieces again and again, that’s when it really clicked. It stopped feeling like something I was just experimenting with for myself and more like a responsibility to build something lasting for the community I built and that has genuinely shown me they trust me over the years.”

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK THROUGH A REAL-LIFE LENS

As NYFW approaches, Warakomski looks to the runway not for fantasy, but for ideas that translate beyond the venue.

With New York Fashion Week coming up, what are you hoping to see more of on the runway, especially when it comes to everyday dressing?

“I can’t wait to attend NYFW again, it’s a special time for anyone working in fashion. I love seeing clothes that move well, feel chic but comfortable, and translate naturally into real life. Granted, fashion is art, but you can truly see when designers think about how women actually live in their clothes, not just how they photograph.”

You’re known for styling unexpected pieces in approachable ways. Are there silhouettes or styling ideas you think will stand out this NYFW season?

“I think relaxed tailoring will continue to stand out and I also love seeing contrasts, something oversized with something more fitted, or a polished piece worn very casually. Those combinations feel modern and realistic, and they give people permission to make the look their own.”

WHY DOMESTIC PRODUCTION STILL MATTERS

In an era where speed often dictates production, HOW DO YOU WEAR THAT remains committed to keeping its process close to home.

The pieces are cut and sewn in the United States. Why is that commitment still essential as fashion evolves?

“It’s not always possible but we have chosen our factories to be as close to us in an effort to never lose sight of quality, whilst keeping production thoughtful and intentional. This allows me to be there in person making the very last amends or touches to any design, and it’s something that I’ve really cherished so far. Everything we have ever made thus far has been made here in NY.”

DEFINING MODERN, ACCESSIBLE LUXURY

As HOW DO YOU WEAR THAT continues to grow, Warakomski remains focused on maintaining alignment between growth and intention.

Looking ahead, how do you see your role growing as a founder and business leader in modern, accessible luxury?

“I want to continue building something that feels honest, thoughtful, and lasting, by leading with integrity, staying closely connected to our community, and listening to how they actually live in the clothes. And don’t get me wrong: growth is exciting, but only when it feels intentional and aligned. For me, modern luxury is about ease and confidence by wearing pieces that fit seamlessly into everyday life and feel just as right five years from now as they do today.”

As New York Fashion Week once again sets the tone for the season ahead, Caitlyn Warakomski’s approach offers a reminder that the most compelling fashion stories are often the quietest ones. The pieces that stay in rotation. The designs that feel considered. The brands that understand how women actually live.

In a city that thrives on reinvention, HOW DO YOU WEAR THAT continues to prove that staying grounded can be the most forwardlooking choice of all.

THE LANGHAM, NEW YORK, FIFTH AVENUE

Where Elevated Luxury Meets Effortless Ease

Modern Landmark of Luxury in Midtown Manhattan

If New York City had a definition for refined ease, it would likely be found at The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue. This isn’t simply a place to stay, it’s a hotel that elevates every moment of your trip, wrapping the energy of Manhattan in an atmosphere of calm sophistication. Positioned between Bryant Park and the Empire State Building, the hotel’s location places you at the beating heart of the city, with the comfort and discretion that only true luxury can provide.

The moment you step into the lobby, you understand why The Langham has earned its reputation as one of the city’s most elegant addresses. The entrance exudes timeless grandeur—modern, luminous, and welcoming all at once.

A Suite in the Sky

My stay in the Club Junior Empire State View Suite was nothing short of spectacular. When they say “Empire State view,” they mean it literally, right outside the window. The iconic tower filled the frame so completely that I had to tilt my head up to take in its full height. The suite itself was a sanctuary of modern luxury: spacious, serene, and intuitively designed.

Inside, everything felt considered. A walk-in closet provided ample room for an extended stay, while the marble bathroom featured a rainfall showerhead and a built-in mirror television so you wouldn’t miss a moment of your favorite show. The living area was equally inviting, with plush seating and soft lighting that

made it the perfect place to unwind after a day in the city. Every detail (down to the linens, the lighting, and the layout) spoke to the kind of craftsmanship that defines the Langham brand.

The Langham Club: An Urban Retreat Within a Retreat

As a guest of The Langham Club, I quickly discovered that the fourth floor is one of the hotel’s most treasured spaces. The exclusive lounge is open throughout the day with complimentary dining presentations, breakfast, afternoon tea, evening canapés, and more, served with the kind of hospitality that feels both intuitive and personal.

It’s a space that encourages both connection and calm. Mornings here began with a quiet coffee and conversation as sunlight streamed through the windows, while afternoons brought a buzz of guests working, reading, or simply enjoying a moment away from Midtown’s pace. The service was seamless, staff seemed to anticipate your needs before you even realized them yourself. It’s easy to see why so many guests linger; The Langham Club is as much a sanctuary for productivity as it is a place of pure relaxation.

Dining at Ai Fiori and Bar Fiori

No stay at The Langham is complete without a visit to Ai Fiori, the hotel’s acclaimed restaurant by Altamarea Group. Translating to “of the flowers” in Italian, the name perfectly captures the essence of its cuisine—elegant, artful, and bursting with flavor. Chef-driven French and Italian Riviera dishes anchor the menu, complemented by a robust wine list and a creative cocktail program.

Just steps away, Bar Fiori offers a more intimate experience. Here, you can settle in with an artisanal cocktail or a glass of wine surrounded by soft floral accents and refined décor. The full Ai Fiori menu is available at the bar, making it the perfect spot for a pre-theater dinner or a quiet nightcap before retreating to your suite.

Wellness, Workouts, and Events

Beyond its festive flair, The Langham continues to deliver excellence in every detail year-round. The hotel’s fitness center, open 24 hours, is outfitted with Technogym and Peloton equipment, ensuring guests can maintain their wellness routines while traveling. For business or social gatherings, The Gallery at The Langham offers over 7,500 square feet of event space, each room illuminated by natural light and adorned with works by celebrated artist Alex Katz.

These spaces, named after local neighborhoods like Madison Square and Kips Bay, are as functional as they are beautiful, capturing the essence of Manhattan’s dynamic character while providing a serene backdrop for private events.

A Prime Fifth Avenue Address

Being located on Fifth Avenue means The Langham places you right in the middle of everything that defines New York luxury. The Empire State Building is just a short stroll away, and nearby landmarks like Bryant Park, Madison Square Park, and Times Square are all within walking distance. Step outside, and you’re sur-

rounded by upscale boutiques, flagship stores, and world-class dining.

For those moments when you’d rather have insider recommendations than rely on Google Maps, the hotel’s concierge team is more than ready to assist—offering tailored advice on everything from where to grab the best slice of pizza to securing last-minute tickets to a Broadway show. It’s this combination of prime location and personalized service that makes The Langham as practical as it is luxurious.

Home, But Elevated

There’s a certain ease that defines a stay at The Langham. Every interaction feels seamless, every detail intentional. By the time I checked out, I realized what makes The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue so special: it doesn’t just accommodate your trip; it enhances it.

With its panoramic Empire State views, impeccable service, and festive holiday spirit, The Langham is the kind of hotel that turns a visit to New York into something extraordinary. It’s where the city’s pulse meets its most polished calm—a place that feels like home, only better.

INNSiDE NEW YORK NoMad

A Playful, Modern Stay in the Heart of Manhattan

A Hotel That Sparks Curiosity and Connection

Photos Courtesy of INNSiDE New York NoMad

New York has always been a city that rewards curiosity—the willingness to look up at the skyline, wander into a new neighborhood, or strike up a conversation with a stranger while waiting for your morning coffee. At INNSiDE New York NoMad, curiosity isn’t just encouraged, it’s woven into the hotel’s DNA. Part of the INNSiDE by Meliá collection, the property is designed for travelers who blur the lines between business and leisure, offering a stylish home base that stays true to the city around it. During my stay, that philosophy revealed itself in ways both big and small. From a doodlewrapped elevator by artist Dave Draws—a whimsical map of New York that practically dares you to start planning your next stop on the way down from your room—to thoughtful in-room touches like a yoga mat for morning stretches, INNSiDE lives up to its tagline: Stay Curious.

Immersed in New York Culture

What immediately struck me was how in tune the hotel is with the rhythms of New York City. The energy of the city doesn’t just exist outside its doors—it flows through the property. Case in point: during my visit, INNSiDE hosted the Fashion Designers of Latin America (FDLA) for a New York Fashion Week welcome reception. In a city that’s always at the forefront of culture, the hotel feels less like a bystander and more like a participant.

That sense of immersion continues with the Big Idea Space, a flexible meeting environment built for collaboration. Whether you’re brainstorming with colleagues or workshopping a passion project, the setting is designed to get ideas flowing. It’s a clever nod to the fact that today’s traveler doesn’t separate “work” from “life”—we do both, often in the same day.

All that exploration—mental or physical— eventually makes you hungry. Luckily, INNSiDE offers two dining experiences.

Hidden at the back of the hotel, El Lugar Cantina feels like stumbling upon a secret. The pop-up concept opens into a lush garden patio where colorful umbrellas float above and greenery frames the scene. It’s the kind of spot where you want to linger, sipping a margarita as Executive Chef Alex Mixcoatl and his team roll up with tableside guacamole. The focus here is on approachability and community, with streetstyle tacos rounding out the menu in a way that feels both casual and celebratory.

If El Lugar is the hidden gem, then The Wilson Kitchen & Cocktails is the neighborhood anchor. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner,

the restaurant delivers comfort food classics with a twist, paired with seasonal craft cocktails, wine, and beer. The space itself is a showstopper: a duplex with 30-foot ceilings, a living moss wall, and a sprawling staircase that connects the bar and dining room to an expansive lower level, making it ideal for everything from casual dinners to private events.

Rooms Designed for Work, Play, and Rest

My guestroom was comfortable, practical, and modern, complete with a beautiful view of the city. It struck the right balance between functionality and personality. Beyond the essentials—plush bedding, a well-designed workspace, and high-speed Wi-Fi—the thoughtful extras stood out. The yoga mat was a reminder that INNSiDE understands travelers want to feel good while they’re on the go.

This kind of detail ties back to the brand’s ethos. Across its global portfolio, INNSiDE by Meliá is known for peppering rooms with small perks that make stays feel personal. At NoMad, that translates into touches that both inspire and restore.

True to the Destination

One of the strengths of the INNSiDE brand is its commitment to authenticity. Each property is designed to reflect its location, creating a sense of place rather than a generic “couldbe-anywhere” hotel. In New York, that means celebrating the city’s creativity and energy.

The doodle elevator map became one of my favorite features—not just because it’s Instagramworthy, but because it sparked conversations. More than once, I found myself chatting with fellow guests about where they were headed

A Secret Garden in the Middle of Manhattan

that day, comparing notes on neighborhoods and hidden gems. In a city as sprawling as New York, those conversations can lead you to your next discovery.

Spaces That Flex With You

INNSiDE New York NoMad excels at flexibility. It’s a hotel equally suited to the business traveler dialing into meetings, the group traveler exploring the city together, or the purposedriven adventurer chasing cultural experiences. The Open Living Lounge embodies that versatility, allowing guests to flow seamlessly from work to play. Meanwhile, the Infit fitness area provides a state-of-the-art space to break a sweat, complete with digital fitness software and yoga led by local experts. Combined with the Big Idea Space and event-ready dining venues, the property proves it’s as good at supporting productivity as it is at encouraging leisure.

Sustainability with Substance

Another element worth noting is INNSiDE’s commitment to sustainability. Meliá Hotels International, the parent company, was ranked the second most sustainable hotel company in the world in 2024 by the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA).

At the property level, that translates into ecofriendly touches that feel natural rather than performative. Guests benefit from small but impactful initiatives designed to protect the planet while enhancing their experience.

Location That Connects It All

Location is everything in Manhattan, and INNSiDE New York NoMad is strategically placed at the crossroads of Chelsea and NoMad, just south of Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. That means guests have easy

access to both Midtown and Downtown, with some of the city’s best dining, shopping, and cultural institutions within walking distance. For those arriving by train, the hotel’s proximity to Penn Station is particularly convenient, making it a strong choice for travelers who want the city at their doorstep.

Final Thoughts

By the end of my stay, I realized that INNSiDE New York NoMad is more than just a place to sleep—it’s a space that encourages you to engage with the city and with yourself. It’s modern and practical, yet playful and curious. It’s as suited to the explorer who wants to map out every corner of Manhattan as it is to the work traveler seeking a stylish hub between meetings.

With its authentic New York flair, flexible spaces, and culinary surprises, INNSiDE captures what makes the city irresistible: the constant invitation to explore, discover, and connect.

UNTITLED AT 3 FREEMAN ALLEY

A Creative Hideaway on the Lower East Side

Where Art, Energy, and Hospitality Collide

New York is never short on places to stay, but every once in a while you stumble upon a property that feels less like a hotel and more like a hidden story waiting to be uncovered. UNTITLED at 3 Freeman Alley, located in Manhattan’s Lower East Side (LES), is one of those finds. To even arrive at its entrance, you step through a graffiti-lined alley that immediately sets the tone—this is a space rooted in creativity, community, and curiosity.

The property, which opened in February 2023, blends modern design with an artsy, urban edge, positioning itself as both a retreat and a launchpad for discovery. With 200 rooms, a rooftop bar, a co-working café, and even an in-house tattoo studio, UNTITLED feels like the kind of place where artists, entrepreneurs, and explorers come together under one roof. During my stay, it lived up to every bit of that promise.

An Arrival That Feels Effortless

Check-in and check-out here are refreshingly frictionless. Before even stepping foot inside, I had already completed pre-check-in digitally. Walking out was just as seamless—I simply left, no lines or paperwork. It felt liberating, a design choice clearly made with the modern traveler in mind.

Stepping into the lobby, I immediately noticed the hotel’s personality. Artworks lined the walls, a tabletop arcade machine blinked invitingly, and there were corners designed for discovery: shelves filled with plants in quirky pots, a corner shop selling Japanese snacks and candies, a vintage photo booth, and even walls with iPads labeled “chat here” or “play here.” A communal sketchbook with markers invited guests to add their own creations.

It was like walking into the home of a friend who always has the coolest finds—unexpected, interactive, and endlessly Instagrammable.

The Gallery: Where Work Meets Buzz

Past the lobby, the heart of the hotel reveals itself: The Gallery café. This airy, plant-filled space doubles as a co-working lounge by day and social hub by night. Hotel guests are treated to complimentary coffee and pastries in the morning, and the café quickly becomes a buzzing hive of activity.

During my stay, I made it my office. With tables, comfy chairs, and the hum of conversations swirling around, it was impossible not to feel inspired. Groups collaborated at one table, solo travelers tapped away on laptops at another, and the energy felt equal parts focused and free-spirited. The creativity of the space seemed contagious—it was the perfect backdrop for getting into the zone.

The Gallery isn’t just functional; it’s also a fully operational gallery space that features rotating works from emerging New York City artists, adding another layer of discovery to the stay.

Rooftop Vibes: UNLISTED

No review of UNTITLED would be complete without mentioning UNLISTED, the hotel’s rooftop bar perched on the 11th floor. Designed in collaboration with Anurag Nema of Nemaworkshop, the space offers panoramic skyline views that are nothing short of cinematic.

The 1,500-square-foot interior and 800-squarefoot terrace strike a balance between intimacy and grandeur. On a clear night, sipping cocktails here feels like you’ve claimed a slice of Manhattan for yourself. The cocktail menu itself is playful and rooted in the culture of the LES. One standout is the Hedgerows Harvest, a refreshing mix of NY dry gin, cachaça, applepear shrub, ginger, citrus, and soda. The food holds its own too, with elevated bites such as the Grilled Steak Toast, topped with caramelized onions, Emmenthal cheese, and horseradish cream on toasted garlic bread.

A Tattoo Studio in a Hotel? Why Not.

One of the most unique aspects of UNTITLED is its in-house tattoo parlor, Unscripted Ink. Tucked at the back of The Gallery, this isn’t a gimmick—it’s a full-fledged tattoo studio cofounded by Liv Novotny. The space features a roster of talented artists like Sarah Michelle Soto, offering everything from vibrant illustrative designs to minimalist geometric creations. Guests are encouraged to embrace spontaneity with rotating “flash-of-the-week” designs, discounted tattoos, and even a Tattoo Happy Hour complete with complimentary drinks.

It’s the only tattoo parlor inside a New York City hotel, and it perfectly reflects the property’s mission to be a cultural hub rather than just a place to crash.

Rooms with a View

My room was cozy yet modern, offering all the essentials alongside a few delightful extras. The bed was comfortable with crisp Brooklinen linens, the bathroom stocked with sustainable Public Goods products, and the mini-fridge was perfect for keeping drinks chilled. On the desk sat a postcard, a small but thoughtful touch inviting me to take home a memento of my stay.

But the real star was the balcony. Stepping outside to take in the skyline view was an experience that instantly elevated my mornings. Coffee in hand, the city sprawled out before me in full energy and motion. At night, the lights of

the Lower East Side glittered like their own art installation.

For guests without balconies, the floor-to-ceiling windows still frame some of the best views of the neighborhood and beyond. With 11 different room categories ranging from compact Studio Minis to spacious Sky Kings, there’s a layout for every type of traveler.

A Neighborhood Rich in Culture

Part of the magic of UNTITLED is its location. The Lower East Side is one of New York’s most historically rich and artistically alive neighborhoods. During my stay, I wandered just a few blocks over to the San Gennaro Festival, where streets came alive with lights, music, and Italian food stalls. It was the kind of local immersion that reminds you why this part of Manhattan has always been synonymous with creativity.

Beyond festivals, the area is packed with trendy bars, vintage shops, and intimate eateries. Staying at UNTITLED means having the LES at your doorstep—ideal for travelers who want more than the predictable Midtown experience.

Small Details, Big Personality

The charm of UNTITLED lies in the details. Renting an electric scooter to zip through the city, trying your hand at the retro arcade games, or even picking up a marker to add your sketch to the communal book—these touches create a sense of belonging. It’s a hotel that celebrates participation over passivity, making every guest feel like part of the story.

Even the entrance itself, tucked inside Freeman Alley, is a statement. Street art murals by artists like Erre, Swed Oner, Clown Soldier, and Dylan Egon line the approach, transforming the arrival into part of the hotel’s experience.

A Creative Oasis Worth Discovering

By the time I checked out (digitally, of course), it was clear that UNTITLED at 3 Freeman Alley is more than a boutique hotel—it’s a creative oasis. The property is ideal for those who want their stay in New York to feel plugged into the city’s cultural current while still offering comfort, community, and a touch of whimsy.

With its co-working café, rooftop bar, tattoo studio, and arts-driven ethos, UNTITLED pushes the boundaries of what a hotel can be. It’s not just where you sleep; it’s where you create, collaborate, and discover. In a city that thrives on reinvention, UNTITLED at 3 Freeman Alley has carved out its own canvas—one that invites guests to be part of the art.

MILAN SETS THE MOOD

for Spring/Summer 2026

The Fashion Week Trends Defining a Season of Meaning, Craft, and Cultural Exchange

Milan Fashion Week 2025 revealed a Spring/Summer 2026 season shaped by intention. Designers leaned into emotion, memory, and material intelligence, allowing fashion to unfold at a measured pace. Across the runways, collections spoke through craftsmanship, symbolism, and thoughtful construction, pointing toward a future where luxury is felt as much as it is seen.

From poetic storytelling to softened tailoring and culturally rooted design, these are the defining Spring/Summer 2026 fashion trends emerging from Milan.

Storytelling Takes Center Stage

Narrative dressing emerged as one of the clearest throughlines of the season. Garments arrived with context, emotion, and a sense of authorship, inviting the wearer into a broader story.

Pierre-Louis Mascia’s Les Enfants du Paradis transformed the language of theater and cinema into fabric-driven storytelling. His extensive use of silk, developed through 18 original prints, created garments that carried visual memory and movement. Wide skirts with ruffles, pajama-style shirts, and flowing dresses reinforced the idea of clothing as lived experience, where print and texture communicate as clearly as silhouette.

At Blumarine, David Koma explored narrative through symbolism. Butterflies, dragonflies, and spiderweb motifs recurred throughout the collection, appearing in embroidery, appliqués, and jewelry. These elements built a visual vocabulary rooted in transformation and romantic tension, shaping a season where storytelling becomes integral to design identity.

Fluid Tailoring and Soft Authority

Spring/Summer 2026 redefines tailoring through ease, motion, and adaptability. Structure remains present, yet it arrives with flexibility and lightness.

Mascia’s pairing of silk with light jersey allowed garments to move naturally, offering elegance that feels instinctive rather than imposed. Ultra-light bombers, trenches, and trompe-l’œil denim introduced practicality while preserving fluidity, creating silhouettes that adapt easily to modern lifestyles.

Philipp Plein echoed this shift through relaxed tailoring for both men and women. Lightweight suits, softly structured sets, and refined denim carried a sense of polish suited for summer settings, moving seamlessly from daytime social moments into evening environments.

Craftsmanship as the New Status Symbol

Material intelligence and construction emerged as key markers of luxury for Spring/Summer 2026. Designers placed renewed emphasis on how garments are made and why those choices matter.

Francesca Liberatore’s Alètheia revisited heritage bedding fabrics, transforming them into structured jackets, overcoats, and modular garments. Raw-edge jerseys, cotton voiles, and jacquards contributed to a tactile experience that highlighted durability, memory, and care

in construction. Her interchangeable garment elements introduced functionality as a form of creative expression.

Anteprima reinforced this focus through recycled and regenerated materials, zero-waste techniques, and sculptural knitwear. Metallic yarns, translucent voiles, and biodegradable fabrics translated sustainability into visual language, positioning responsible design as an integral part of contemporary luxury.

Sport as a Lifestyle Code

Sport references appeared across Milan as a cultural signal tied to leisure, elegance, and social ritual.

Philipp Plein’s Tennis Society positioned tennis as an aspirational framework. Pastel tones, muted denim, ribboned heels, and tailored silhouettes reflected the sport’s association with refinement and tradition. Accessories such as sneakers, platforms, and structured handbags extended this language into a full lifestyle wardrobe, designed for summer destinations and polished gatherings.

Anteprima approached sport through form and texture. Polo shirts, bermudas, and mesh knits referenced utility, yet their execution felt architectural and reflective. The result was a quiet reinterpretation of athletic influence, rooted in design precision rather than performance cues.

Cultural Identity as Design Language

Cross-cultural dialogue shaped some of the season’s most resonant moments, with Milan serving as a meeting point for global perspectives.

Afraa Al-Noaimi’s Desert Rose capsule bridged Qatari heritage with Italian craftsmanship through fabric selection and silhouette. Chiffon, silk cady, muslin, and stretch hemp formed billowing capes, structured tunics, and flowing dresses, while accessories such as crystal-embellished gloves and Carrara marble details added layers of cultural symbolism. The palette, drawn from desert landscapes, reinforced a grounded sense of place and identity.

This emphasis on cultural authorship signaled a broader shift for Spring/Summer 2026, where global narratives enrich luxury fashion through authenticity and collaboration.

A Season Shaped by Thoughtful Design

Spring/Summer 2026, as seen in Milan, reflects a recalibration of luxury fashion. Designers prioritized storytelling, refined construction, and cultural depth, allowing collections to unfold with clarity and purpose. The season values garments that resonate beyond the runway, offering substance through craft, emotion, and intention.

Milan’s message was measured yet confident. Fashion does not need to rush to be relevant. When design is grounded in meaning, it holds its place naturally.

LESS SQUARE FOOTAGE, MORE INTENTION

Luxury Real Estate

Embraces the Art

of Living Smaller

Why Smaller Luxury Homes Are Redefining High-End Living in 2026

“Less” is quickly becoming the most coveted luxury in real estate. According to recent U.S. Census Bureau data, the average new home size declined from 2,314 square feet in Q4 2022 to 2,169 square feet in Q4 2024, signaling a meaningful shift in buyer priorities. For today’s luxury purchaser, especially those investing in second homes and resort communities, the appeal lies in residences that prioritize thoughtful design, lock-and-leave convenience, and effortless ownership. These homes prove that a smaller footprint does not mean sacrificing experience. Instead, it often enhances it.

Below, standout developments across the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean are redefining luxury living with residences under 3,000 square feet that deliver elevated design, world-class amenities, and a lifestyle that values ease as much as elegance.

Jack’s Bay ELEUTHERA, BAHAMAS

Set across 1,200 acres on Eleuthera’s southern coast, Jack’s Bay blends barefoot luxury with serious sporting pedigree. Anchored by “The Playground,” Tiger Woods’ TGR Design 10hole short course reopening in fall 2025, the community will also debut the world’s first Jack Nicklaus Heritage Course in 2026. Within this expansive natural setting, The Playground Residences offer an intentionally intimate residential experience. Limited to just 23 fully furnished homes, the two-bedroom floor plan spans 2,172 square feet and starts at $1,995,000. Each residence includes private pools, rooftop decks, and seamless access to Jack’s Bay’s amenities, proving that downsizing can still feel distinctly indulgent.

Loraloma Private Club and Estates TEXAS HILL COUNTRY

Loraloma Private Club and Estates offers a compelling model for small-scale luxury within one of Texas’ most coveted landscapes. As one of the most amenitized master-planned communities in the state, Loraloma pairs its Bonnell and Limestone three-bedroom floorplans with adaptive flex spaces, chef kitchens, and generous entertainment areas.

What truly sets these homes apart is their relationship to the land. With 60 percent of the community preserved as open space, homeowners enjoy protected Hill Country views and direct access to more than 1,100 acres of outdoor amenities, including the Limestone Gulch experience. Ownership here means living expansively without the burden of maintaining it all.

Four Seasons Private Residences Las Vegas HENDERSON, NEVADA

Located within the prestigious MacDonald Highlands community, Four Seasons Private Residences Las Vegas introduces a two-tower residential offering that brings elevated, lockand-leave living to the desert. The development includes 171 luxury high-rise residences starting at 2,288 interior square feet, with pricing beginning at $3.95 million.

Designed with cosmopolitan desert aesthetics and supported by resort-style amenities, residents benefit from 24-hour concierge services, multi-level pools, and a curated menu of a la carte offerings. These residences cater to families and professionals seeking flexibility, privacy, and access without the demands of traditional single-family ownership.

Litibú Bay Club

PUNTA DE MITA, RIVIERA NAYARIT, MEXICO

Set on a secluded 21-acre beachfront site in Punta de Mita, Litibú Bay Club offers a master-planned private community framed by Litibú Bay, Cerro del Mono Mountain, and the Sierra Madre range. The development will feature 171 residences alongside amenities such as a Sports and Adventure Club, Beach Club, signature dining, and a Greg Norman–designed golf course.

Villa offerings start at 2,971 total square feet for a Golf Villa, appealing to buyers who value a smaller footprint without sacrificing access to expansive amenities. Phase I is slated for completion by the end of 2026, positioning Litibú Bay Club as a refined option for buyers prioritizing ease, design, and coastal access.

The Waterfront Daniel Island CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA

Developed by East West Partners, The Waterfront Daniel Island is a 22-acre mixed-use community located along the Wando River. Upon completion, the master plan will include approximately 300 residences across luxury condominiums, townhomes, paired cottages, and multi-family offerings.

The three and four-bedroom Marsh Cottages provide a particularly compelling example of scaled luxury. Starting at 2,783 square feet, these attached single-family homes feature private two-car garages, shared front-entry courtyards, and access to exclusive amenities including a private pool, pavilion with outdoor fireplace, fitness center, and onsite property management. The design prioritizes privacy and connection to the marsh while maintaining a manageable, thoughtfully planned footprint.

EAST CAPE OF LOS CABOS

Spanning 1,500 acres along the East Cape of the Baja Peninsula, Costa Palmas has emerged as one of Los Cabos’ most thoughtfully developed beachfront communities. Home to Four Seasons Resort and Residences Los Cabos at Costa Palmas, the forthcoming Amanvari Resort and Residences debuting in Spring 2026, and the world’s only Four Seasons private marina, the destination balances scale with restraint.

Recognizing growing demand for smaller luxury residences, developer Irongate Group introduced Marina Cove Residences, offering marina views and 2,788 square feet of interior space. The forthcoming Casa Blake, a combined residential and hospitality concept with-

in the Marina Village, will further expand options, with residences ranging from 535 square foot studios to four-bedroom layouts measuring 2,497 square feet. The result is a refined approach to coastal living that emphasizes flexibility, ease, and access to a world-class setting.

The New Measure of Luxury

Across destinations and property types, these developments reflect a clear recalibration in luxury real estate. Square footage is no longer the primary status symbol. Instead, today’s buyers are prioritizing efficiency, experience, and ease. Smaller residences, when paired with exceptional design and access to world-class amenities, offer a more intentional way to live well. In 2026, luxury is no longer about having more space. It is about using it better.

INSIDE OPTIMA MCDOWELL MOUNTAIN

a $1 Billion Biophilic

Community Redefining Luxury

Living in North Scottsdale

Tower 7220 Debuts as the First Residential Phase in a Sustainability-Driven Arizona Landmark

A new chapter in Arizona real estate is officially underway. Optima McDowell Mountain, a $1 billion mixed-use community rising across 22 acres in North Scottsdale, has welcomed its first residents with the completion of Tower 7220. The milestone marks the initial phase of a sixbuilding vision that places design, sustainability, and livability at the center of contemporary desert living.

When fully realized, Optima McDowell Mountain will comprise 1,330 residences across six architecturally striking eight-story buildings. For now, Tower 7220 stands as the project’s first expression, offering a preview of what is set to become one of the most ambitious luxury residential developments in the United States.

Tower 7220 Sets the Residential Standard

Tower 7220 introduces 210 rental residences ranging from studios to three-bedroom floorplans, with monthly pricing starting at $2,900 and extending beyond $10,000. Each residence reflects Optima’s signature biophilic design philosophy, a design approach that integrates natural elements into the built environment to support well-being and connection to place.

Floor-to-ceiling windows and 9- and 10-foot ceilings bring in abundant natural light, while private terraces wrapped in lush native plantings soften the building’s modern lines and extend living spaces outdoors. Interiors are designed for both function and refinement, featuring smart-home technology, expansive walkin and millwork closets with built-ins, and sun-screening roller shades, including blackout options in bedrooms.

Kitchens are outfitted with eased-edge granite countertops, soft-close cabinetry, and stainlesssteel appliances with induction cooktops. Select layouts include wine refrigerators and utility sinks. Bathrooms elevate everyday routines with frameless glass showers, large-format tile, and dual vanities in two- and three-bedroom homes, along with select features such as deep soaking tubs, seated vanities, and private water closets.

A Community Built Around Open Space and Sustainability

Optima McDowell Mountain is defined as much by what surrounds the buildings as by the residences themselves. Seventy-five percent of the community’s grounds are dedicated to open space, creating a sense of scale and breathing room rarely found in urban-style developments. The project also incorporates the largest private rainwater harvesting system in the United States, underscoring its long-term commitment to responsible resource management in a desert environment.

A pioneering vertical landscape system further transforms the development into a living extension of the surrounding terrain, reinforcing Optima’s vision of a modern desert oasis that evolves with its environment rather than competing with it.

Resort-Style Amenities With Everyday Appeal

Residents of Tower 7220 enjoy access to approximately 1.5 acres of amenity space designed to support both active and social lifestyles. Highlights include a rooftop deck anchored by a 50-meter Olympic-length pool, along with a running track that will follow the perimeter of the roof. Additional amenities include a stateof-the-art fitness center, indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, an outdoor putting and chipping area, and a range of additional lifestyle-focused spaces designed for daily use rather than occasional indulgence.

As future buildings come online, each will feature its own dedicated amenity offerings, reinforcing the community’s all-inclusive approach to luxury living.

Looking Ahead at a Multi-Phase Vision

Tower 7220 represents just the beginning. Optima McDowell Mountain’s first phase includes this initial apartment tower debuting in fall 2025, with a condominium tower scheduled to arrive in summer 2027. Together, the six-building development is poised to reshape expectations around large-scale residential communities in Arizona, blending modern architecture with environmental sensitivity and long-term livability.

As residents settle into Tower 7220, Optima McDowell Mountain offers a clear signal of where luxury real estate is heading in the Southwest: thoughtful, design-driven, and built with the future firmly in mind.

The Ski Escape Seasoned Travelers Are Choosing for STILLNESS, SNOW, AND A SLOWER WINTER RHYTHM

Why Teton Valley and Grand Targhee are emerging as a restorative alternative to Park City and Jackson Hole

In an era when winter travel has become increasingly crowded, curated, and competitive, a growing number of seasoned travelers are reassessing what they want from a ski getaway. For many, the priority has shifted from being seen to feeling settled. From packed lift lines to overstimulating après scenes, once-beloved ski destinations like Park City and Jackson Hole are beginning to feel at odds with a more intentional approach to travel.

That recalibration is quietly drawing attention to Teton Valley, Idaho, just over the pass from Jackson Hole. Here, winter unfolds at a gentler pace. Snowfall is abundant, the mountains feel expansive rather than compressed, and the experience centers on presence rather than pressure. It is a destination that aligns naturally with the idea of choosing peace, without asking travelers to compromise on quality or terrain.

Grand Targhee Resort, Where Skiing Feels Grounded Again

At the heart of the valley is Grand Targhee Resort, a mountain long favored by locals and experienced skiers who value consistency and calm over spectacle. Operating since 1969, the resort offers more than 2,600 acres of skiable terrain and averages over 500 inches of snowfall annually, making it one of the most reliable snow destinations in the region.

What distinguishes Grand Targhee is not just the snow, but the experience surrounding it. Lift lines are typically short, lodges feel unhurried, and the mountain retains a sense of spaciousness that allows skiing to remain the focus of the day. That balance recently earned Grand Targhee a #5 ranking in SKI Magazine’s Top 30 Resorts in the West for 2026, recognizing its

terrain, snow reliability, and overall guest experience.

This season also marks the introduction of the high-speed six-pack Colter Chairlift, opening access to additional powder zones that feel closer to cat-skiing terrain than traditional resort runs. Access remains straightforward, with Mountain Collective passes accepted alongside day and season passes purchased directly through the resort.

Even après stays true to the valley’s low-key sensibility. Cafés, casual restaurants, and the Trap Bar and Grill provide places to unwind without turning the end of the day into another performance. An insider detail frequently cited by returning skiers is that Grand Targhee often receives more snow than Jackson Hole Mountain, a fact that reinforces its reputation among

those who prioritize conditions over crowds.

Driggs, Idaho and the Appeal of a Lived-In Mountain Town

Rather than a resort village designed around tourism, Driggs feels like a working mountain town that happens to sit near exceptional skiing. Located about 25 minutes from Grand Targhee, it offers proximity without the congestion that defines larger ski hubs.

For wellness-minded travelers, the appeal lies in the rhythm of daily life. Driggs supports access to national parks, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and winter recreation beyond downhill skiing. The town’s understated character resonates with visitors who value simplicity, space, and the ability to disconnect without isolating themselves entirely.

Tributary, A Basecamp for Intentional Winter Living

For those seeking a refined home base that mirrors this philosophy, Tributary has emerged as one of Teton Valley’s most compelling communities. Spanning 1,500 acres, the private fourseason club is designed around outdoor living and environmental stewardship, with wildlife corridors, fly-fishing ponds, and 500 acres of fen-designated wetlands shaping the landscape.

Residences reflect a mountain-modern aesthetic that feels thoughtful rather than ostentatious. Since 2024, developer-built homes have averaged $4.15 million, with available homesites averaging $1.3 million, signaling steady interest without the volatility seen in more saturated ski markets.

Wellness is woven throughout the experience. Amenities include a dedicated wellness facility, a remodeled 18-hole championship golf course designed by David McLay Kidd, a clubhouse with restaurant and bar, a pool and hot tub, and a two-mile elevated boardwalk that encourages movement year-round. Winter offerings extend beyond skiing, with cross-country trails, an ice-skating rink, a kid-friendly snowmobile track, and an archery and tomahawkthrowing center.

For skiers, Tributary’s members-only ski lounge at the base of Grand Targhee, paired with shuttle service, removes logistical friction from ski days while preserving privacy and ease. It is a detail that reflects the broader ethos of the valley, where comfort is intentional and convenience does not come at the expense of calm.

Why Teton Valley Reflects a Shift in Winter Travel

As travelers become more selective about how and where they spend their time, Teton Valley stands out as a place that supports a quieter kind of luxury. There is consistent snowfall without chaos, access to nature without excess, and a community that values the outdoors as a way of life.

Grand Targhee delivers the skiing, while Tributary offers a restorative place to land. Together, they reflect a growing movement toward winter travel that prioritizes balance, intention, and the simple pleasure of being present in the mountains.

For those choosing peace over pressure, this corner of Idaho offers something increasingly rare. It is not about opting out of winter, but about experiencing it on your own terms.

KYTHIRA NP Brings a Greek Island Story to SoHo With Chef Nicholas Poulmentis

Chopped Champion Nicholas Poulmentis on heritage, memory-driven cooking, and his first solo restaurant opening Winter 2026 in New York City

In a dining landscape often driven by speed and spectacle, Chef Nicholas Poulmentis is choosing something quieter and more personal. Winter 2026 will mark the opening of Kythira NP, his first solo restaurant and a deeply considered tribute to his native island of Kythira, Greece. Set in the heart of SoHo, the 65-seat restaurant is not positioned as a reinvention of Greek cuisine, but rather a thoughtful continuation of it, shaped by memory, restraint, and refined technique.

Poulmentis, an acclaimed chef and Food Network Chopped champion, has spent years honing his craft in notable kitchens. With Kythira NP, that experience comes into focus through

a menu that reflects his upbringing, his values, and the traditions of an island often overlooked despite its cultural depth. The result is a restaurant grounded in seafood, seasonality, and classic Greek cooking, filtered through a distinctly personal lens.

Dishes such as Black Truffle Tarama, Goat Cheese Gnocchi, Perka in Paper, and Ek Mek Kataifi are not presented as showpieces, but as narratives. Ingredients sourced directly from Kythira anchor the menu, reinforcing a sense of place that extends beyond the plate. The beverage program follows the same philosophy, featuring Greek-inspired cocktails and a curated wine list with a focus on Greek producers.

A CONVERSATION WITH CHEF NICHOLAS POULMENTIS

Caroline Dalal: Kythira NP is a tribute to your home island. What does it mean to bring the flavors and traditions of Kythira to SoHo?

Chef Nicholas Poulmentis: The world deserves to see what Kythira has to offer. Bringing Kythira to SoHo means sharing a deeply personal part of who I am, but it’s also about giving a small, overlooked island the platform it deserves. Kythira may be small, but it’s rich in history, authenticity, and spirit. The food is rooted in intention, seasonality, and respect for ingredients. Bringing that philosophy into SoHo is my way of honoring where I come from, while inviting New York to experience the warmth, generosity, and quiet confidence of Kythira.

Caroline Dalal: This will be your first solo restaurant. How does this chapter feel different from your previous work in the kitchen?

Chef Nicholas Poulmentis: This chapter feels deeply honest and more vulnerable. In past kitchens, I was contributing to someone else’s vision. With Kythira NP, every decision reflects my own story, including my upbringing, my values, and my evolution as a chef. There’s a sense of education, but also freedom, that I want Kythira NP to reflect. I’m cooking with more intention and clarity than ever before, and I feel honored to have Kythira NP reflect my journey as a chef.

Caroline Dalal: Your cooking blends heritage with refined technique. How do you approach honoring tradition while keeping the menu feeling modern?

Chef Nicholas Poulmentis: I always start with memory. I think about how a dish was eaten, who made it, and why it mattered. Then I apply my own techniques, not to change the soul of the dish, but to elevate it. These techniques include making dishes cleaner, more creative, or more precise. Modernity, for me, isn’t about trends - instead, we find refinement in balance and allowing tradition to speak clearly in today’s language.

Caroline Dalal: Several dishes, like the Black Truffle Tarama and Goat Cheese Gnocchi, are deeply personal. How did your family and upbringing influence these recipes?

Chef Nicholas Poulmentis: Food was how my family and my island communicated love and community. These dishes are inspired by flavors I grew up with. The Black Truffle Tarama reflects how I’ve learned to layer refinement and inspiration onto humble roots, while the Gogges (known as Goat Cheese Gnocchi) is about comfort and nostalgia. Every bite and dish at Kythira NP is connected to a memory, a

person, or a place from my childhood.

Caroline Dalal: Looking ahead to the Winter 2026 opening, what are you most looking forward to when guests finally sit down at Kythira NP for the first time?

Chef Nicholas Poulmentis: I’m most excited to see people slow down. To watch guests share plates, linger in conversation, and settle into the space. My hope is that people come in as guests and leave feeling like family. Feeling more connected to each other, to the dishes, and to the spirit of Kythira. If they leave nour-

ished and feel welcomed and curious about the island and its culture, then I’ve done what I set out to do.

As Kythira NP prepares to open its doors in SoHo, the restaurant positions itself less as a destination built on hype and more as an invitation. An invitation to pause, to share, and to engage with Greek cuisine through the lens of one chef’s lived experience. For Poulmentis, success is measured by connection. If guests leave curious about Kythira and the traditions that shaped its food, the story has landed exactly where it should.

WHERE HEALTHY DINING AND ELEVATED MOCKTAILS

MEET IN MIAMI

A refined look at wellness-forward restaurants and zero-proof cocktail programs shaping Miami’s most intentional dining moments

Miami’s approach to healthy dining has evolved into something far more nuanced than clean plates and restraint. Across the city, chefs and beverage directors are embracing wellness with confidence, delivering experiences that prioritize quality ingredients, thoughtful technique, and atmosphere that still feels celebratory. This year, healthy dining and mocktails naturally align, not as a reset, but as part of a more considered way of eating and drinking that now defines Miami’s luxury dining culture.

Wellness-Forward Restaurants Redefining Healthy Dining

At Avra Miami, Mediterranean simplicity leads the experience. Seasonal vegetables, premium olive oil, and pristine seafood anchor a menu built on clarity and restraint, with offerings that include vibrant salads, grilled halloumi, sashimi, ceviche, and charcoal-grilled fish finished with bright ladolemono.

Aguasal at Andaz Miami Beach by José Andrés Group balances coastal Mediterranean flavors with an intentional lightness. Dishes such as the Watermelon and Feta Salad, Date and Almond Salad, Zucchini Soup with toasted sesame seeds, and seafood plates like Grilled Octopus and Seared Cobia deliver nourishment without sacrificing technique.

Rooftop dining takes a more mindful turn at Rosa Sky, where protein-forward dishes like the Spice-Rubbed Tuna Poke Bowl and Roasted Local Snapper feel composed and purposeful. Even brunch offerings lean plant-forward, maintaining balance within a polished setting.

At Campo Casa Faena, wellness extends into cooking philosophy. Executive Chef Antonio Maldonado incorporates Zero Acre oil, a minimally processed alternative to traditional seed oils, alongside fresh, locally sourced ingredients, shaping a refined New American menu rooted in intention.

Waterfront favorite Joia Beach delivers Mediterranean-inspired dishes that include quinoa and arugula salads, falafel, spiced cauliflower steak, and simply prepared seafood like grilled branzino and herb-crusted seabass, offering abundant gluten-free and vegetarian options.

Glass & Vine emphasizes nourishment through thoughtful variety, allowing diners to move comfortably between lighter plates like Red Pepper Hummus and Watermelon Tomato Salad or more substantial options such as HalfRoasted Chicken.

Coastal ease defines Bayshore Club, where citrus-driven seafood dishes such as Local Catch Ceviche and Blackened Mahi Tacos feel clean and approachable against Biscayne Bay views. Technique-driven dining anchors KoKo by Bakan, where tortillas are made in-house through traditional nixtamalization and toasted over a wood-fire grill, resulting in lighter, deeply flavorful tacos that honor heritage and mindful eating.

Plant-based Mexican cuisine takes center stage at JaJaJa Mexicana Wynwood, where the entirely seed-oil-free menu focuses on whole ingredients and traditional techniques reimagined through a modern lens.

Miami’s Most Thoughtful Mocktail Programs

Zero-proof cocktails in Miami are no longer an afterthought. At Los Fuegos by Francis Mallmann, the Hibiscus Bloom blends passionfruit, honey-lavender, and hibiscus tea, reflecting the restaurant’s elemental approach to flavor.

Hakkasan delivers balance with the Virgin Hakka, combining lychee, lime, passion fruit, and coconut purée in a composed, polished presentation. Waterfront dining meets zeroproof intention at Casadonna, where the Donna d’Oro pairs Almave ambar blue agave spirit with pineapple and lime.

Mediterranean sensibility guides mocktails at ADRIFT Mare, while Delilah Miami treats alcohol-free offerings with the same care as its cocktail program, leaning on premium nonalcoholic spirits and botanicals.

At Joia Beach Restaurant & Beach Club, the Joia Lemonade blends Seedlip Garden with citrus, pineapple, rosemary agave, and activated charcoal, designed for long afternoons by the water.

Precision continues at Uchiko Miami Beach, Amal, and AVIV, each offering layered, balanced zero-proof cocktails that complement their menus rather than compete with them. Rooftop and social energy define mocktail programs at Level 6, LT South Beach, and Double Knot, while expansive offerings at Toro Toro and R House Wynwood prove that scale and creativity can coexist without alcohol.

High-energy dining rooms including Papi Steak, Brooklyn Chop House, Rosemary’s Wynwood, Boia De, and Walrus Rodeo round out the list, each delivering mocktails that feel intentional, structured, and fully integrated into the dining experience.

A More Considered Way to Dine

What emerges across these dining rooms and bars is a shared commitment to clarity. Healthy dining in Miami is no longer about subtraction, and mocktails are no longer substitutes. Together, they reflect a dining culture that values intention, balance, and craftsmanship, all without sacrificing pleasure, atmosphere, or occasion.

CITY NATURE: TALES OF ORNERY PLANTS, OPINIONATED BIRDS, GARDENING TRIUMPHS AND TRAGEDIES, AND CAPTURING IT ALL THROUGH A LENS by Martha Retallick (Desert Gardening)

In the midst of ongoing news about Southwestern water scarcity, Martha Retallick sees opportunity. For more than 20 years, she has transformed her central Tucson home into a thriving urban oasis using water harvesting. Since purchasing the property in 2004, Retallick has incorporated both passive and active systems into her landscape. Passive water harvesting— through basins, berms, and drainage swales—directs rainwater to plants and away from the home’s foundation, eliminating the need for municipal irrigation. Active systems include a 1,500-gallon rainwater cistern for a backyard vegetable garden and a laundryto-landscape greywater system that irrigates fruit trees. City Nature features more than 60 of Retallick’s photographs, highlights her DIY projects, and provides resources for desert gardening and water conservation.

HAVANA NIGHTS HEATS UP PALM BEACH WITH PURPOSE AT A SOLD-OUT PALM HOUSE BENEFIT

Center for Family Services blends Cuban flair, community leadership, and mental-health advocacy for an elegant evening of impact

A Cuban-Inspired Evening with a Clear Mission

Palm Beach welcomed a night of rhythm, culture, and philanthropy as the Center for Family Services of Palm Beach County hosted its soldout Havana Nights fundraiser at the storied Palm House. The event transported guests into a Cuban-themed celebration that paired Latin energy with a focused purpose: expanding access to mental-health care and family-empowerment programs across Palm Beach County.

From the outset, the evening balanced elegance with intention. Guests gathered poolside for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres beneath the palms before moving indoors, where the tempo shifted to lively Latin beats and immersive culinary experiences. The setting’s Old-World glamour and tropical ambiance framed a night designed to celebrate culture while advancing care for vulnerable children, families, and individuals.

Sensory Details that Set the Scene

Inside Palm House, the program unfolded through a series of curated moments. Gourmet Cuban-inspired food stations anchored the dining experience, complemented by a cigarrolling station and a rum-tasting experience presented by West Palm Beach’s own Revenge Rum. A spirited live auction kept the room engaged, reinforcing the community’s commitment to the cause while sustaining the evening’s celebratory flow.

Every detail worked in concert, creating an atmosphere that felt both festive and purposeful, a hallmark of Palm Beach’s most successful benefit events.

Leadership and Community at the Forefront

The evening was co-chaired by Barbara and Andrew Pendrill alongside Theodora and Anthony Pace, whose leadership helped bring together a dedicated host committee that included Nancy Bush, Nancy Haviland, Bella Rapp, and Crystal Tropeano. Their collective efforts drew a dynamic cross-section of supporters united around strengthening local mentalhealth resources.

Community Supporters reflected the breadth of that commitment, with recognition for Mental Health Champions Holly Jolly Foundation and Carlynn & Larry Silverman Family

Foundation; Mental Health Heroes James and Nancy Bush; Mental Health Advocate Lora Drasner; and Mental Health Ambassadors Tim and Nancy Haviland, the R & M Hagan Family Fund, Dr. Norman and Mia Rowe, Karen and Dan Swanson, Barbara and Andrew Pendrill, and Theodora and Anthony Pace, among many others.

Community Partners played a vital role in bringing the night to life, including Palm House, One Sotheby’s Rapp Tropeano Group, Sebass Events and Entertainment, SoCOOL Events, Revenge Rum, and Jay Zeager Auctions. Auction Partners ranged from Rowe Plastic Surgery and Koi Design Group to Gatch Stile by Giacomo La Rosa, Ehrlooms, Serena Uziyel, Danielle Rollins, Terra Bella, Kantis, Bikes Palm Beach, Pretty Picnic, Palm Beach Charters, Fred Astaire Dance Studios West Palm Beach, Trevini Ristorante, Stage, Hive Bakery and Café, Evo Italian, Table 26, Zenhippo, Z Jewelers, Heather Lynn Photography, Vagabond Apparel, and Vagabond Kids.

Impact Beyond the Dance Floor

Proceeds from Havana Nights will directly support the Center for Family Services’ counseling, recovery, and youth programs, ensuring that evidence-based mental-health care and wraparound support remain accessible throughout the county. Since 1961, the organization has played a vital role in helping individuals and

families heal from trauma, navigate life transitions, and build healthier futures.

The evening also marked the official launch of the Center’s 2025–2026 season campaign. That effort will culminate with the 27th Annual Old Bags Luncheon at The Breakers Palm Beach on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, where Priscilla Presley will serve as keynote speaker. The luncheon will be co-chaired by Lora Drasner and Marzia Precoda, continuing the Center’s tradition of pairing high-profile gatherings with measurable community benefit.

Closing Thoughts

Havana Nights captured what Palm Beach philanthropy does best: gathering people around culture, connection, and a shared sense of responsibility. The sold-out benefit delivered an evening rich in atmosphere while advancing a mission that reaches far beyond one night. As the Center for Family Services looks ahead to its season-long campaign, the momentum generated at Palm House underscores a community ready to invest in mental health, family strength, and a healthier future for all.

Held in the heart of Palm Beach, the committee luncheon brought together the women and men guiding the 27th Annual Old Bags Luncheon®, the organization’s signature fundraiser. Proceeds from the event will directly support the Center for Family Services’ programs, which strengthen individuals and families through accessible mental and behavioral health care.

In keeping with the luncheon’s distinctive format, community members are invited to donate new or gently used authentic designer handbags. Each contribution helps fuel the Center’s mission while reinforcing the event’s signature intersection of fashion and philanthropy.

A Mission That Endures

Since its founding in 1961, the Center for Family Services of Palm Beach County has focused on the belief that strong families are the foundation of a healthy community. Nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation and recognized by Nonprofits First for Excellence in Nonprofit Management, the organization continues to adapt its services to meet the evolving needs of children, individuals, and families.

As the Old Bags Luncheon® season officially gets underway, the committee gathering at Renato’s served as an early reminder that impact often begins around a table. With February’s luncheon on the horizon, Palm Beach’s philanthropic community is once again poised to come together, handbags in hand, in support of a cause that extends far beyond fashion.

INSIDE THOMAS J. HENRY AND DR. ELENA ALVAREZWESTWOOD’S ENGAGEMENT CELEBRATION IN PUERTO RICO

A Caribbean evening at Fairmont El San Juan Hotel blending music, artistry, and philanthropy

A celebration rooted in intention, scale, and cultural resonance set the tone for the new year as Thomas J. Henry marked his engagement to Dr. Elena Alvarez-Westwood with a sweeping evening at the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel in Isla Verde. Drawing hundreds of guests to San Juan, the gathering unfolded as a carefully orchestrated tribute to music, place, and shared values, transforming the historic oceanfront property into a stage for one of the Caribbean’s most talked-about private events of 2025.

From the moment guests arrived, the experience signaled that this would be no ordinary engagement celebration. An outdoor performance by the Earth Harp greeted attendees, its strings suspended across the hotel’s entrance as projected imagery moved across the building’s façade in sync with the music. The effect was immersive and ceremonial, setting a reflective tone before the evening’s momentum began to build.

A Lobby Reimagined Through Sound and Design

Inside the Fairmont’s iconic lobby, a cocktail reception unfolded amid intricate ice sculptures and live music performed by 35 musicians from the Philharmonic Orchestra of Puerto Rico. Familiar compositions were reinterpreted with Latin inflections, creating a sense of continuity between classical form and regional expression.

The couple requested an unplugged experience for the night, encouraging guests to remain present rather than document the moment through screens. The decision underscored the event’s emphasis on shared experience, inviting connection and conversation within a setting designed to be savored rather than captured.

Stadium-Scale Performances, Private Setting

As the evening progressed, the celebration shifted into a new register with surprise performances by Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, and other Latin superstars. The energy quickly moved beyond that of a traditional engagement party, taking on the feel of a private concert where guests remained on their feet through each set. The performances bridged generations and genres, reflecting the couple’s ties to Latin culture while elevating the night into a rare, collective moment.

Light, Sky, and Celebration

Following the musical performances, attention turned skyward. A choreographed drone show illuminated the Caribbean night above Isla Verde, tracing celebratory patterns set to music. As the drones faded, a full fireworks display erupted above the resort, drawing cheers across the property and creating a natural crescendo for the evening.

The spectacle gave way to a more personal moment with the presentation of a birthday cake honoring Dr. Alvarez-Westwood, seamlessly folding celebration into celebration and reinforcing the night’s layered meaning.

Late-Night Rhythm by the Sea

After formalities concluded, the celebration transitioned into an open-ended dance party. Two DJs guided the energy well into the early hours, with the final performance delivered by Robby Elias from Miami. Guests flowed between indoor and outdoor spaces, taking in views of palm-lined pools and the shoreline while enjoying signature cocktails and latenight bites. The atmosphere balanced glamour with ease, allowing the night to unfold organically as conversations, music, and movement carried on.

Style with Global and Local Roots

Dr. Alvarez-Westwood’s styling reflected the event’s international scope. Her hair was styled by Eddy Scudo, with makeup by Hung Vanngo. She wore designs by Paris fashion designer Zuhair Murad alongside pieces by Puerto Rico–based designer Gustavo Arango, pairing global couture with regional creativity.

As guests departed, they received parting gifts that tied the celebration back to the island. Bottles of Don Q Gran Reserva Añejo Rum from Dr. Alvarez-Westwood’s hometown of Ponce and chocolates from Montadero offered a final, thoughtful connection to Puerto Rico’s craftsmanship.

A Celebration with Purpose

Beyond the spectacle, the engagement marks a shared commitment to philanthropy. Together, Thomas J. Henry and Dr. Elena Alvarez-Westwood are building on recent charitable efforts on the island, including support for post-earthquake recovery of education services in Guayanilla and their role as title sponsors of the American Cancer Society Puerto Rico Gala. As the music faded and the night gave way to morning, the celebration lingered as more than a milestone moment. It stood as a reflection of legacy in motion, where personal joy, cultural pride, and community investment moved in step, setting a meaningful tone for what comes next.

CONSUELO VANDERBILT COSTIN HONORED WITH LEGACY & LEADERSHIP AWARD AT LATIN FASHION AWARDS 2025

A historic night at Latin Fashion Week Washington DC celebrates heritage, innovation, and modern glamour

At the intersection of heritage and forwardthinking style, Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin took center stage at the Latin Fashion Awards 2025, receiving the prestigious Legacy & Leadership Award during Latin Fashion Week Washington DC. The ceremony unfolded at the storied Warner Theatre, setting an appropriately grand backdrop for a celebration rooted in culture, creativity, and purpose.

The honor recognized Vanderbilt Costin’s enduring influence as an entrepreneur and seventh-generation Vanderbilt, as well as her ability to translate legacy into something distinctly current. Her work continues to reflect a rare balance of tradition and modernity, a throughline evident across her ventures in fashion, music, and philanthropy.

A Legacy Reimagined for Today

Central to the evening’s tribute was Vanderbilt Costin’s impact on contemporary fashion through her Homage Jewelry collection for HSN. Inspired by her family’s Gilded Age history, the collection pays tribute to five generations of women while reinterpreting pearls and diamonds for modern life. The result is jewelry that feels polished yet wearable, designed to move seamlessly through real-world moments rather than remain locked in the past.

That philosophy aligned naturally with the spirit of the Latin Fashion Awards, which spotlight trailblazers from Latin America, the Iberian diaspora, and global communities who are reshaping fashion through culture and innovation. Guided by the event’s theme, “Empower, Sustain, Innovate,” the evening emphasized intention as much as aesthetics.

A Moment of Recognition

Upon accepting the award, Vanderbilt Costin shared her gratitude with the audience, saying: “Receiving the Special Recognition and Artist Award from the Latin Fashion Awards is an honor I’ll carry with deep gratitude—this moment celebrates culture, creativity, and community.”

Her words echoed the broader mission of the night, which centered on elevating voices and stories that contribute meaningfully to the global fashion conversation.

An International Gathering of Creative Voices

The celebration brought together an accomplished roster of honorees and guests, including Nicolas Felizola, Luisa Restrepo “Lulu99,” Giannina Azar, Erika Ender, Martin Polanco, Yas Gonzalez, Agustina Cableiro, Patricia De Leon, Lazaro Sanchez, Marco Maranghello,

Elias Claveira, Lela Espinal, and DarwinG. Their presence underscored the event’s role as a cultural crossroads where fashion, music, and art intersect.

Beyond the Runway

Vanderbilt Costin’s recognition at the Latin Fashion Awards adds to a multifaceted career that spans industries. As a serial entrepreneur, she has built a global music career with Billboard Top 20 singles and extensive international touring, while also founding creative platforms such as SohoMuse, a professional network designed to support creatives across disciplines.

Her Legacy & Leadership Award did more than honor past achievements. It highlighted an ongoing commitment to evolving heritage into something relevant, inclusive, and futurefacing. In a city known for history and power, the night at the Warner Theatre offered a reminder that style, when paired with purpose, can be its own form of leadership.

MANHATTAN SCHOOL OF MUSIC’S PRECOLLEGE GALA CELEBRATES ARTISTIC LEGACY AND THE NEXT GENERATION

A sold-out New York City evening honoring distinguished alumni while supporting young musicians through arts education

A single evening can hold both reflection and promise. At its biennial Precollege Gala, Manhattan School of Music brought together supporters, artists, alumni, and distinguished guests in New York City to celebrate artistic achievement while investing in the future of music education. The sold-out event benefited MSM’s Precollege Division, the Saturday pre-conservatory program serving students ages 8 to 18, and underscored the institution’s enduring role in shaping musicians at every stage of their journey.

Hosted by CBS News correspondent Elaine Quijano, the gala centered on the idea of artistic continuity, tracing a line from emerging talent to global recognition through performance, mentorship, and sustained support.

Honoring Alumni Who Shape the Cultural Landscape

This year’s gala honored two distinguished alumni whose careers reflect the reach and rigor of MSM’s Precollege program. Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard, a member of the Precollege Class of 1998 and recipient of an Honorary Doctor of Musical Arts in 2021, was recognized for her international career and influence within the classical music world.

She was joined by Dr. Han Jo Kim, also a member of the Precollege Class of 1998, an internationally renowned spine surgeon whose work has had a global impact. Together, their recognition highlighted the

program’s broader philosophy, one that values artistic discipline, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to apply those foundations across diverse professional paths.

Performances That Point to What Comes Next

Throughout the evening, the stage belonged to the next generation. Guests were treated to performances by standout Precollege students, including violinist Isaiah Shin, pianist Christopher Ramos, soprano Isabella Moon, and multi-talented performer Winter Donnelly. Each appearance served as a reminder that technical excellence and personal expression are being cultivated well before conservatory years begin.

Additional remarks from MSM leadership and alumni reinforced the program’s mission. Speakers included MSM President James Gandre, Board Vice Chair and Precollege parent Kishore Ballal, pianist Simone Dinnerstein, composer and pianist Chloe Flower, and a special virtual greeting from songwriter Robert Lopez, a double EGOT winner and Precollege alumnus.

A Community United by Arts Education

The evening also reflected the breadth of the community supporting MSM’s educational mission. Attendees included business leader Barbara Corcoran, Hospital for Special Surgery President and CEO Dr. Bryan T. Kelly, and artisan chocolatier Maribel Lieberman, among others. Following the formal program, guests gathered for a cocktail reception accompanied by additional performances from Precollege students, allowing conversation and music to continue side by side.

Investing in Access and Opportunity

Proceeds from the gala directly support the MSM Precollege Scholarship Fund, expanding access to high-level music instruction regardless of financial need. The impact reaches beyond the gala itself, helping ensure that talent and dedication remain the primary criteria for opportunity. Founded in 1918 as a community music school by Janet Daniels Schenck, Manhattan School of Music has grown into a globally respected institution serving more than 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students from over 50 countries. Its artist-teacher faculty includes musicians from the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and leading jazz and Broadway communities.

True to its origins, MSM continues to place young musicians at the center of its mission. Today, the Precollege program serves 525 students ages 8 to 18, while the school also reaches thousands more through its Arts-inEducation and Distance Learning programs.

As the evening concluded, the message remained clear. Artistic legacy is not static. It is renewed through education, mentorship, and the continued belief that young artists deserve the space and support to grow. The MSM Precollege Gala offered a compelling example of how philanthropy and performance can move in harmony, shaping both the present moment and what lies ahead.

INSIDE THE 70TH VIENNESE OPERA BALL KICKOFF HOSTED BY JEAN SHAFIROFF IN NEW YORK

A pre-holiday reception sets the tone for a milestone year celebrating Austrian culture, opera, and philanthropy

A Milestone Evening in New York Society

New York’s cultural calendar welcomed a meaningful moment on December 22, 2025, as philanthropist, television host, and author Jean Shafiroff hosted and underwrote an elegant reception at her New York residence to officially kick off the 70th Annual Viennese Opera Ball. The gathering brought together more than 100 guests to mark one of the city’s most enduring white-tie traditions while ushering in a landmark anniversary season.

The evening served as both a pre-holiday celebration and a formal start to the countdown toward the 70th Anniversary Viennese Opera Ball, scheduled to take place in 2026. Long regarded as a bridge between Austrian heritage and American cultural life, the Ball continues to stand as a symbol of diplomacy, classical arts, and international friendship.

Honoring Leadership and Legacy

During the reception, New York State Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright presented Citations to Jean Shafiroff and the Viennese Opera Ball in recognition of their longstanding contributions to philanthropy and cultural stew-

ardship. The acknowledgments underscored the Ball’s role as both a social institution and a charitable platform within New York’s arts community.

As a longtime supporter, past honoree, and chairwoman of the Viennese Opera Ball, Shafiroff has been instrumental in guiding the organization through decades of tradition while keeping its mission relevant to contemporary audiences.

Opera, Wine, and Austrian Tradition

The evening unfolded with performances by acclaimed opera stars Elizabeth Sutphen, soprano, and Brandon Cedel, bass-baritone, setting an appropriately classical tone for the anniversary season ahead. Their performances highlighted the Ball’s continued commitment to opera and classical music as living art forms rather than historical artifacts.

Guests also enjoyed Austrian white wine from Domäne Wachau, one of Austria’s leading estates known for organically farmed vineyards. The wine was generously provided by importer González Byass USA, adding an authentic taste of Austria to the New York evening.

A Chairwoman Reflects on the Moment

“The Viennese Opera Ball represents elegance, culture, and the timeless beauty of the arts,” said Jean Shafiroff. “It is a privilege to host this gathering in celebration of its 70th year as we honor tradition while supporting the next generation of artistic excellence. As a past honoree and chairwoman, I look forward to the 70th Anniversary Gala and am excited to chair it once again.”

Her remarks captured the spirit of the evening, one rooted in respect for history while remaining focused on the future of cultural patronage.

Looking Ahead to the 70th Anniversary Ball

Founded in 1955, the Viennese Opera Ball has become one of New York’s most storied cultural events, blending classical music, Viennese ballroom tradition, and charitable impact. The 70th Anniversary Ball will continue that legacy when it returns on Friday, May 8, 2026, prom-

ising a grand celebration of art, diplomacy, and shared heritage.

Notable attendees at the kickoff reception included Silvia Frieser, Elizabeth Sutphen, Brandon Cedel, Jay Hershenson, Ramona Singer, Louise Braver, Jennifer Santos, Hayley Monek, Emily Mohr, Diana Bocsha, Devon Birkshire, Paulo Carminati, Melanie Eimesser, Nicole Chessin, Isabelle Harnoncourt, Simona Petrova, Malan Breton, Ted Vassilev, and Stefanie Eimesser, reflecting the Ball’s wide-reaching appeal across cultural, fashion, and philanthropic circles.

As the Viennese Opera Ball enters its seventh decade in New York, the kickoff reception hosted by Jean Shafiroff offered a clear message. Tradition remains at the heart of the Ball, but its future is shaped by those committed to keeping the arts relevant, supported, and celebrated for generations to come.
