ُُصممت هذه المقالة البصرية لتوّثّق تجربة الكتابة المكانية يف منطقة الفوطة كمحاولة لقراءة الفوطة ، ُتُكتب سطوره عبر الميش،مفتوًحا نًصا ً ً بوصفها وذلك من خالل منظور. والكتابة، والصورة،والمالحظة حيث توّثّق التجربة مالمح المكان وعالقته،شخيص . تحت إشراف مختبر أم سليم،بالذاكرة واإلنسان بل،وال يقتصر هذا العمل على توثيق تجربة بعينها نموذًجا إلحياء الكتابة المكانية ضمن أرشيف يقّدّ م ً المملكة العربية السعودية؛كنموذج يجمع بين ويمكن أن يمتد مستقباًلا،التوثيق والممارسة البصرية ،ليشمل دراسة بحثية لمساحات ومناطق متعددة على أمل أن يسهم يف ترسيخ ثقافة التوثيق المكاين حضوًرا يف المشهد المعريف وجعلها أكثر،والبصري ً .والثقايف رينـــــاد العمــــيقان
The Essay
This visual essay was conceived to document an experience of site writing in Al-Fouta, approaching the district as an open text whose narratives unfold through walking, observation, photography, and writing. Through a personal perspective, it documents the character of place and its relationship with memory and the people who inhabit it, under the guidance of Um Slaim Lab. Rather than documenting a single experience, this project proposes a model for reviving site writing within the archive of Saudi Arabia. Bringing together research, documentation, and visual practice, it is conceived as a framework that can grow into a broader research initiative exploring and documenting different places. Ultimately, it aims to foster a stronger culture of spatial and visual documentation, making it a more visible part of the Kingdom’s cultural and intellectual landscape. Renad Al Omaigan
الفــوطــــة
Al Foutah
At the heart of Riyadh lies Al-Fouta, one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods. Despite decades of urban transformation, it continues to preserve traces of its architectural past. Layers of time coexist throughout the district, where traditional mud houses stand alongside modern buildings, and deeply rooted trees remain beside the open spaces shaped by change. Together, these elements make Al-Fouta a quiet witness to Riyadh’s evolving urban memory.
وُتُعد من أقدم أحيائها،تقع الفوطة يف قلب مدينة الرياض رغم ما شهدته،اليت ال تزال تحتفظ بآثار تاريخها العمراين حيث تتجاور فيها طبقات زمنية.من تحوالت متالحقة ،مختلفة؛ من البيوت الطينية القديمة إلى المباين الحديثة ومن األشجار المتجذرة إلى الفراغات اليت خّلّفتها التحوالت شاهًدا على ذاكرة المدينة لتغدو المنطقة،العمرانية ً . وتطورها

The area celebrates humanity, authiticity, and warmth, where scens of rooted trees gracefully emerge in various location. as if the versy essence of the places asserts their rich history. The trees stand as silent witness to the passege of time, their sturdy trunks and expansive branches offering a sense of continuity and continuation to the past

بعًدا بيئ ًًيا و إنسان ًًيا ً تواجد الحمام يف المنطقة أضفى عليها مؤشًرا غير مباشر على غىن المكان بالعناصر إذ أصبح.ً جميًال ً تعكس أسراب الحمام اليت تمأل السماء وتستقر..الطبيعية تناغًما على واجهات المباين وأغصان الشجر ً .فريًدا مع البيئة ً
Pigeons have become an inseparable part of AlFouta’s landscape, adding a quiet ecological and human presence to the district. Their flocks move effortlessly across the sky, gathering on rooftops, facades, and tree branches, where they blend naturally into the fabric of the place and reflect the delicate balance between the built and the natural environment.
VISUAL ESSAY
As the Friday sun begins to set, Al-Foutah Park reveals another dimension of the district. Beyond its urban history, it is the rhythm of everyday life that defines the place. People from different cultures gather across its green spaces, and as this scene returns week after week, it quietly becomes part of Al-Foutah’s living memory.

وسيًطا يتخذ هذا العمل الفين من المقالة البصرية ً لتجسيد تجربة الكتابة المكانية يف صورة ملموسة. نموذًجا أول ًًيا يمكن أن يتطور مستقباًلا وُيُقَّدَ م بوصفه ً إلى مشروع بحيث أوسع ،ال يقتصر على الشكل المطبوع، بل يمتد إلى وسائط نشر متعددة ،بما يواكب طبيعة المكان وتعدد طرق روايته وتوثيقه .
