DealTrack’s Payments Hub is officially here, marking a major milestone in modernizing real estate transaction workflows.
Deposit collection is now live and fully in production, powered through a secure integration with RBC Payment Services. This launch delivers a faster, more reliable way to collect and manage deposits directly within DealTrack, eliminating manual steps and reducing risk across the transaction process.
Our rollout is well underway. We are currently completing integrations with TD Payment Services, followed by National Bank and CIBC as next priorities. To ensure broad national coverage, Credit Union connectivity is planned for later this year, further expanding access for brokerages, agents, and clients across Canada.
The DealTrack Payments Hub was built to centralize payments, improve visibility, and enhance trust at every stage of a deal. By embedding payment processing directly into the platform, teams can move deposits more efficiently, maintain compliance, and keep transactions progressing without delays or disconnected systems.
This is just the beginning. As additional financial institutions come online, the Payments Hub will continue to evolve — supporting a more connected, secure, and seamless transaction experience from offer to close.

LISTINGS- STAY COMPLIANT: KEY ITSO REMINDERS FOR YOUR LISTINGS
The Listings Team wanted to share a quick refresher on a few common ITSO rules we’ve been seeing more often. Paying close attention to these details upfront helps avoid revisions, delays, and potential fines, keeping everything running smoothly for everyone.
A key area continues to be the use of remarks sections. Offer-related information must be entered in the offer remarks section, while showing instructions belong in the showing remarks. Private remarks should be reserved strictly for details that may impact cooperating brokerages, such as access or important property notes. Keeping information in the proper place ensures clarity and compliance.
We are also seeing “buyer to verify” or “due diligence” language used in listings. As a reminder, this wording is not permitted, as the listing brokerage is responsible for the accuracy of all MLS® information. Zoning must also be entered correctly using the proper municipal designation—general terms like “residential” or “commercial” alone are not sufficient.
Lastly, listings must be uploaded no later than 11:59p.m. on the next business day following the start of the listing agreement.
We appreciate your attention to these details and your continued efforts to keep listings accurate and compliant. If you’re ever unsure, the Listings Team is always here to help.

REALTORS®, are worries about Canada entering a major war putting your clients on the fence? How does war affect the economics of the Canadian housing market?
Canada has already “been there and done that.” History doesn’t repeat perfectly, but it often rhymes. Here’s a quick look at what happened to Canada’s housing market before, during, and after the Second World War—and what that might mean for your clients if Canada were drawn into a major conflict again.
To understand how big global shocks affect housing, it helps to look not only at wartime itself, but also at the five years before and after. Around the Second World War, Canada went through a severe housing shortage, strong government intervention, and then a post-war building boom.
In the late 1930s, Canada was still climbing out of the Great Depression. New residential construction had been weak for years, so the country entered the war with a backlog of unmet housing demand and an aging housing stock. Credit was tight, unemployment had only recently started to fall, and many families were renting rooms or sharing space to make ends meet.
Once the war began, that fragile baseline came under new pressure. Labour, materials, and financing were diverted toward the war effort, so private homebuilding slowed further, especially in industrial cities. Vacancy rates fell sharply and many households lived in crowded or substandard units. To prevent a full-blown affordability crisis, Ottawa imposed wage and price controls, including strict caps on rent and limits on evictions. At the same time, the federal government stepped in as a direct builder through Wartime Housing Limited, constructing basic but affordable rental homes near factories and bases.
The five years after the war looked very different. Returning veterans, rising incomes, and the baby boom created a surge in household formation. Demand spiked while the wartime backlog was still in place, so prices and rents pushed higher. In response, the federal government expanded housing finance tools and veterans’ programs, which helped unlock large -scale subdivision development and a major rise in homeownership.
For your clients today, you can remind them that even in Canada’s darkest days—world wars, global pandemics, severe housing shortages, big swings in immigration, interest rates, inflation, recessions, and even depressions—Canadian real estate has proven remarkably resilient over the long term.
